Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
Back from shopping, lots of bargains to be had but I resisted!!
I brought two little outfits for birthday pressies of friends children in Pumpkin Patch, and I also brought myself a new suit jacket. It's really nice, black with a pale pinstripe. Was reduced from $80.00 to $9.95!!! It's the same size as I am now, as I haven't really lost enough to go down a size, but it fits instead of being tight which is a positive. I don't want to buy to many clothes as I'll hopefully end up a different size, but for $10 how could I resist??!! Ohh Aimz - I found a really gorgeous handbag for you in Kate Hill, was going to call but had no reception in DFO for some stupid reason!! Will msg you about it tonight, as I'm going back again tomorrow. Woops! DC xxx

Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
hmm maybe tom allowance wizzed with some water and half your normal veg then cut the rest into cubes same size as beef. cook for as long as possible (the longer the more tender) on a low heat 120-150 2 hours would be good. use herbs to flavour
I should look a bit like a soup before it goes in text me if you need more help |

Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
Yummmmm!! What herbs would you use? I have no idea about herbs. I'm stuck on steak and chicken at the moment so seriously looking to branch out and have something different. Thanks Aimz Oh another question I just thought of do you know what is the best way to store fetta?? I don't buy it cause I can only have it once a week and I'm afraid it would go off.
DC - What a bargain on your pants!!! Who can complain for $10. |

Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
Day 23 - Wednesday 30th June
Good morning everyone! I hope that you're all well today. I've been on a bit of a rollercoaster this morning, woke up cold and grumpy (down), then got dressed and fitted into a suit I haven't worn (up), then hubby spoke to me about some family stuff (extended family member not letting me talk to her little girls who I love very much - complicated story - but hurtfull) (down), then came to work and heated up my omlette for breakfast and it was SO GOOD (up)... hmm... going to DFO again today so I'm guessing it's only up from here hey?? So last night was boring old dinner, just chicken and veg again with some hot chilli and mixed herbs. Very nice. I also cooked my dinner for tonight as we're out, and two breakfasts and today's lunch! Phew!! As you've probably gathered by now, breakfast was an omlette, my goodness, it's the best thing I've ever tasted - just love it! I added some mixed herbs, salt and pepper with mushroom, zuccini and capsicum and yummmmmooooo!! It was really good reheated too which was an added bonus! I made two while I was going, and have yoghurt ready to go for Friday so I'm all set for this week now. I also decided to make hubby and omlette, I used 3 eggs for his though - it was HUGE!! lol (Aimz - it was the size of that large pan that I got!!) I put some mixed herbs and cheese into his (as he won't eat the veg naughty man!) and he loved it! Although he did say it was like eating air or a cloud??!! Crazy man - I think he meant it was light and fluffy. So overall I'm feeling good today. I decided that I can't let the family stuff get me down too much, as people sometimes do mean things to you and you can't control it. You can only control your reaction to it. So I'm back ontop of the mountain and I refuse to slip down again!! C'mon life! I'm ready for ya!! Ohh I also went to the gym again last night - even though it was FREEEEEZING cold. So I'm pretty happy with that! Definately going to make the stew idea on Friday night, as I'll have the 2hrs to cook it for sure. Thanks Aimz! Only a few hours until DFO and I'll get that handbag for you! Exciting! Loooove shopping! God help our bank account when I get skinny!! hehe Have a good day muffins. DC xxx

Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
Hey Violet
I'm not sure what herbs Aimz would use for the beef thing, but some of my favs on chicken/veg so far are Paprika, Chilli and Mixed Herbs. They are great on most things! DC xxx

Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
Hiya DC. So sorry it's taken so long to get around to dropping by!
It's great when you can get support of your family and certainly, seeing as this diet is mainly based around food, having somebody to refer to is THE BEST! Just a heads up though to check out this thread: http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10158 as it has a lot of info on what we can and can't have. Sounds silly but until investigating some things that just seemed to be on the 'yes' list turned out to be on the big, fat 'no' list. Oh, also, check each and every spice mix for the individual ingredients as they often sneak in things we're not allowed. Sounds like you're doing great though! Keep up the brilliant work. |

Thanks Kirst & Caro for your msgs.
Hi Vicki - thanks for that link, it's a good reminder! Phew! I'm safe with all those, but thank you for helping me out. Sometimes it's hard to remember what we can and can't have! One last thing - I don't know HOW I forgot this in my diary this morning - but I did my wk3 measurements last night and I'm 11.5 down this week! Woo hoo! Total loss in cms for 3wks? A massive 41.5cms! YAY!!

What?????? 41.5cms in 3 weeks. You are doing ridiculously well my friend!!! I am so happy for you - I can only imagine what unbelievable figure you are going to throw at us for your one month weigh-in. Bring it on!!
Ooops, yep that's what I meant about the two pairs of pants. Just curious - what do you do for work? I only ask because so many people on here are on this forum when they're at work and it got me thinking, "hmmmm, wonder what she does for work that allows her to be on this forum???? Or is it a case of maybe you're not MEANT to be on here, huh DC? You sneaking or do you just have a really cool job?!! Indy xx |

Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
A slow cooker will cook a stew/casserole better just make sure you add enough liquid so it doesnt dry out. (just add water to tom and veg puree to make up difference)
And fetta is a hard cheese so it should last months just stored in the fridge. Airtight is always best though |

Re: Daisy Chain's Personal Diary
Day 24 - Thursday 1st July
This morning when I was driving to work the radio station I was listening to was talking about New Years Resolutions. That got me thinking about my NYR. I have never really made them in the past, it's always 'loose some weight' bla bla... and what happens to them...nothing!! So this year, I decided I was going to make a NYR that I would actually achieve. My NYR was 'to make myself healthy again'. If that meant loosing weight then great, if it didn't then so be it. I needed to be healthy. So what did I realise this morning on my drive into work...? I'm actually doing it!! For the first time in my life, I have stuck to my NYR. I'm halfway through the year, and I've been going to gym since February, I've joined up to play netball again (starting in July) and I'm doing Cohen's and changing my life. Well yay for me! I felt really proud of myself when I realised that I am actually doing something that I said I would. Now I'm looking forward to NYE 2010 - the first year that I will be able to sit back, feeling good about myself, in a nice 'skinny minnie' outfit and say that I didn't let myself down this year - wow - very powerful stuff! So last night I called in to see my parents (had to drop off a beautiful handbag to go to my sister ) and even my dad said that I look different. He said that my face especially has changed which is pretty exciting. (He's not really one for complients...) In saying that, I said 'yeah today a few people commented which was pretty exciting' and his response??? 'yeah it cost me a bit to pay them off to say that' LOL! Cheeky! Thank you all for your encouragement and excitement in my cms lost so far, I must say that now with all the comments about how much I'm going to have lost I feel scared to weigh in!! I know it's silly... but what if I only loose 2ks or something?? Eeekkk!! Ohh well. A loss is a loss hey? So Indy's question made me realise that I didn't really share much about myself when I first started my diary, partly because I hadn't figured out the forum, or what I was supposed to say on here - so here's a little bit about me for those of you that are interested... I'm 28 years old, and have been married for about 3 and a half years but we've been together about 9 years now. We don't have any children, but have a gorgeous puppy dog Bella (kelpie). I've got two sisters, both younger, Aimz you all know is my biggest supporter on this journey and is on here helping us all, then I have a younger sister again. She's due to have her first baby next month (first baby in the family). Mum and Dad are a great support and we're a pretty close family. My mum is my best friend and biggest cheerleader in my life, she's a gem and I'm very lucky to have such a good friend as well as mum. I work at a very large company in the city in Melbourne, and I'm an Executive Assistant to one of the head Executives. I loooove my job and although I work long hours, it's all worth it. My boss is amazing! (To answer your qn Indy - I'm on here b/c I can pop on in the morning as I'm in so early (7.00am) and then at lunch etc and I type really REALLY fast which is why I can write so much quickly!!) Hmm.. what else... I have been overweight for probably about 6yrs now, before that I was a really good size 12. Not small but not big, just the right size for me. I'm also pretty tall, and have a nack to dressing well so I can normally hide how big I acutally am. My husband was so shocked when he found out how much I weigh, as I said, I carry/hide it very well. I have a few health issues that have put me in and out of hospital over the last few years, suspected PCOS (still don't really know if I have it) and really extrememly severe Endometriosis. I'm really hoping that this program will help me be fit and healthy, and also allow me to take some of the symptoms away of my Endo and maybe next year we will be able to start a family and make Aimz an aunty! Whew... well that's my essay for today!! Hope it wasn't to much!! Ok cherrubs, have a wonderful day and keep smiling. You can do this!! DaisyChain xxx
