HAHA Mette,
Well, seeing as: the 8 Maids are milking - and we aren't allowed milk the 7 swans and 6 geese are also off the menu, as it's strictly skin off chicken breast 4 calling birds and 2 turtle doves are a little hard to come by it really only leaves choking on a golden ring (may overload your mineral intake for the day however) or there is always the 3 french hens (allowance) HOHOHO

Hey Ruby, have you had a loss this morning? I hope so my love!
Don't worry about the footy day - what I think is horrible on here now is that if you want to be honest in your diary you're thinking twice about "those" people and what they will think of you! That is really sad and you certainly DON'T need it when you're feeling bad enough already. Anyway, I haven't deviated for approx two weeks but I stayed the same Monday and Tuesday, then yesterday I lost .5 and today I've put ON .3 - what the...?? So even when you're good you can go off the rails! At least you had fun doing it - hehe! Don't be disheartened - even if you're only doing the "low calorie Cohen's" and not the "scientific Cohen's" you know you WILL get there in the end - it's just going to take you a little longer. I'm doing scietific cohens now, but I know I will slip again because I've got about 8 months to go - I'm not going to kid myself. I'm fighting myself every day not to. It's a never-ending battle - all we can do is do our best - science or no science. I HATE the word "science" now - hehe. Last edited by Cocopop; 02-10-2008 at 07:05. |

Hello gorgeous!
If three french hens are allowance, then I'll be happy to stick to Cohens for life! As I think AJ once told me, no deviation is a disaster if you take the time to figure out what went wrong and learn from it. You can do this, hon! Just gotta keep travelling along with us...yes, even me, the resident weight loss snail on Cohens... |

HI Cocopop - nice to see you.
Yes, a loss of 400g this am, so doing better. Am really gunning to reach 64.1 kg (need to lose another 700g) by Saturday, so that I can tick off goal number 3. And thanks Francesca for your encouragement. I know what the 'issue' is when it comes to deviating - I think (at the time) that I just WANT to eat the food I see, rather than NEED it. And as yet, have not been able to stay 100% focussed all of the time. Am doing ok I think, though not 'proud' of the slip ups (there have been 2 or 3 slip ups in nearly 8 weeks). But you know, it is MY journey. So I'm really not interested in all the people running around on here with big wooden sticks... ready to whack us NON-PERFECT types over the head at every turn. As I read in someone else's thread somewhere; all these people must have also tried other things, methods to lose weight etc and failed before. So it surprises me that even the perfect Cohenites, who have finally seen the light, can be so hypocritical; rather than understand that not everyone can be PERFECT all the time. I'm not saying people should take deviating lightly or even condone it, as I recognise that it is wrong. But my mantra is that everyone is different, and will therefore get to their destination (or follow their own journey's path), in their own way. Ruby

Don't be too hard on the people with the sticks, Ruby. I don't think anyone means to club you over the head, I think people are just very passionate about the program. I don't think I've ever seen anyone say anything horrible to anyone in their diaries. And the deviation threads are easy to avoid if the rants are too much. As you say, it's your journey, and we're all here to support you and cheer you on. We all want to succeed and see everyone else succeed. I know you will get to your goal, and you getting there is all that matters.

Am taking a break from the forum
I've decided I need to stay off here for a while. All the negative energy is really getting to me. After this latest commentary, where a message of mine is used as a tool to riducule, and those with whom I have been in contact; I have decided that I will take a break from the Forum and let my own true self take care of myself for a while. > http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...771#post186771 Frankly, with all the recent rants and negative commentary, I feel that this forum is not giving me much 'space' to record my own reality. Funny, I thought it was MY diary. Seems like unless my reality conforms to the UBER GODS of the forum, then I'm ridiculed and told to get real. So I'll get off the discussion boards for a while, and go get real, without all the negativity. Chailee, I'll chat to you via facebook. Cocopop - talk to Chailee about how to find me. Cheers everyone. Good luck with your journeys. I will try to get back on in a couple of weeks. So, hope to catch up again somewhere down the track, when the ranters and ravers have all made their own peace, and then the rest of us can get on with building our self esteem up, instead of being berated at every turn, and having that slowly regained self esteem blown away again. see you somewhere down the track Ruby

Hi Ruby,
I am very sorry for what has happened to you Ruby. I think that your comments have been misinterpreted. You have never been anything but supportive to me since we 'met'. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I hope you do find your way back to the forum. In the meantime, I'll miss you. Justine |

Just popping in, not to record any thoughts or opinions, but rather, just to record that I have achieved Goal #3 on my list, ON THE DAY I had hoped to. So hooray for me. I can achieve things when I set my mind to it, in MY OWN WAY. Ticker updated, hope to call in and update my ticker as my numbers continue to drop. Ruby

just checking in - nearly at the end of week 9
Hi All,
Chailee - congrats on ticking off that goal, a couple of weeks before your birthday too... Well done Buddy. Things have been going really smoothly for me of late, and I have enjoyed the mental 'break' from getting on the forum every day. I still read some diaries here and there, but (like a lot of things in my life) I become rather 'addicted' and almost 'obsessive' with new situations... so I felt as though I was spending too much time on here anyway, and then all those rants started... Well, I just needed to take a break. All going well on the Cohen journey too... I ticked off goal #3 on the day (how's that for anticipation?!) and have continued with some smaller losses over the last couple of weeks. Official weigh in day for me is Monday; on 6/10 I was 64.0kg (lost a whole 100g in 2 days after I ticked off goal #3 !!) and so far this week I am down another 300g. So now I can update my ticker, to PROUDLY state that I have lost 12.4kg in 8.5 weeks (63.7kg now). The weight loss has slowed down, but I suppose that is to be expected somewhere along the way. However, I do recognise that I am still 6+ kgs from ordering refeeding. I am also really looking forward to joining in LouLou's next Mango challenge on the 17th. My next goal is to be down to 60kgs by the end of the month or by Melb Cup day at the latest. I think this is do-able; and with the warmer weather now arriving in Melb, I'm enjoying my new sense of self and my physical freedom a whole lot more. Hope all the good guys are well Lots of Hugs, Ruby

Hi Ruby
short and sweet but congratulations on your 12.6 kg. I never have any luck on the cup so I think I would do better putting $20 on you being 60 kg before the race starts in November! Take Care
