Hope your husband finds some answers soon. I gather he would have had blood tests and the like, but I had something very similar when I was in my early 20's. I was exhausted despite a good diet, I was a healthy weight etc etc I used to fall asleep everywhere! Eventually the doctor put me on Vitamin B injections which helped a little .... then a couple of years later I felt different and then suddenly realised I hadn't been tired for a couple of days. All of a sudden my body had just sorted itself out! I hope you don't think I am trivialising your husbands illness but sometimes it all sorts itself out somehow! |

Yeah, thanks. He's actually much better today (and is now bouncing round the room with toddler in spite of me telling him not to!).

Had a friend round yesterday. The first thing she said was "You look really great, really well. And have you lost weight?" Felt damn good.
Husband appears better for the moment. Went for a run yesterday and hasn't collapsed yet. |

That's just awesome. Makes it all worthwhile, when the results become obvious

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
It doesn't take long before you and people start to notice - my husband keeps commenting on it pretty much daily (but I don't suppose other people look that closely).
The next batch of "nice" clothes that I haven't been able to wear for ages are now in my sights..........

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
A nice spot iof retail therapy yesterday in my dinner break at work.
Bought a nice cashmere red cardigan top in M+S, reduced from $99 to $40. I figured I could wear it as a top or a cardie (in Perth in the winter, not in Singapore). I saw a few other things reduced too, but I decided that never again am I going to wear fade-into-the-background clothes. I'm going to be elegant, classy and (hopefully) slightly sexy. I'm not a lamb, after all! I then bought 10 sheets in the sale (our bed is Asian King size so shorter, so might not get them easily in Perth), saved $80 and got a voucher for $20. So I'm back to M+S to have a closer look at a wrap-around cashmere cardie in a mustardy colour (reduced to $60 from $140). I got a bit worried when I got home and realised that there's a 4inch gap down my front where the cardie won't meet, but that'll change. I'm trying not to get too carried away, and am only buying things that are a bargain, that I REALLY like, and that Trinny and Susannah say will suit me. T'is fun though! |

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
I love the bedlinen in Singapore but luckily didn't buy any - wasn't aware there was a difference in size!! I also love those bolster cushion things that are the entire width of the bed.
Good on you for buying some clothes - the cardigan will be ideal for trying on each week and eventually the sides WILL meet!! Love Trinny and Susannah, shame they're not on tv as much now. Foxtel here has Gok a lot, new series starts next week. |

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
Hi Knickerless
Yep, shopping is cool. Even better, went back to buy the other cardie yesterday and it had gone down to $40! Ok, weigh day: Week 1: 5.1kg, 8cm gone Week 2: 1.7kg, 4cm Week 3: 1.6kg, 8cm Week 4: 1.2kg,8cm Total: 9.6kg, 28cm Looks like I won't be done for Paris in June, but at least when I see my folks in the UK I won't have reached the gaunt stage so can avoid all the "too thin" comments. More importantly I am feeling great. I'm walking/carrying myself differently, feel positive and bubbly, I feel like a different person. I'm actually wondering how I can keep "in the zone" when I come off Cohens! And I realised yesterday that I'm no longer out of breath when I walk up a flight of stairs at work. So was hoping to break 10kg this week, but 'twas not to be. At least I have less than 30kg to go now. |

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
Well done Baloo. You're going great. When you mentioned M+S you didn't mean MArks and Spencers did you????? They have them in Singapore?
When we came to Oz I had withdrawals from Marks 's! It's always such lovely quality stuff and usually never dates. Enjoy your shopping. Just think, that's going to get more and more fun as time goes on! : ) Sue |

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
Yep, good old M+S. There are about 10 branches here. It's much dearer than the UK here though, and the food selection is limited, but, as I was just saying to my husband this morning, I still find myself going in there to shop ven though I'v more options in small sizes. (Also helps that it's right near my office).

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
Hi FYM,
Quote:
I'm just wondering if "the zone" is simply the good feelings one feels when NOT eating cr*p. Like, Cohen food is designed to provide your body with what it needs, and it doesn't include all the sugars, carbs, etc. Would you not REMAIN "in the zone" once completing refeed? Or does it come down to how quickly you "depart" from Cohen-style eating? That's a REALLY good question, FYM - and one I can't answer. Despite that, THANKS for asking it. I'm hoping some other replies can help, Koh

Just a big happy hushpuppy I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed... And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !! |

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
I think it's also the "I'm succeeding, and I'm FINALLY going to be slim" feeling. So I guess if we continue to eat good food (and therefore continue to be slim) we'll stay in the zone, but we'll never know if the food or the slimness caused it.
I can't say I'll care, as long as I continue to feel this good.

Re: Future Yummy Mummy's Diary
Being in the zone, after 18 months off the programme, is STILL looking at your reflection in the store windows because you can't believe it. And that is the secret to keeping it off. At least it is for me. That and keeping the "FAT" photo (the one in my album) on my mirror on the Chest of Drawers.
