Hi Ruby,

Good work - it's still all working eh? And, you were right - I haven't found a bookie that will take my money.

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showpos...2&postcount=51

Don't want to bet against yourself do you? Maybe I can still win ....

Thanks Koh, you are a wonderful support person to have around; and thanks to others who have also stopped by for a read.
I am going great guns at the moment, feeling really refreshed and ready to 'dive' down to 60kgs by the end of the month (or so I am hoping).
I am due for my 12 week blood test on 3rd November, and want to get that damn elusive Mango I have been chasing! (starting challenge again on Fri 17th)

I'm just putting this post up again, for my own benefit, as I think if I keep seeing this in my face, then I'll stop thinking about feeding it !!

What I wrote to myself as I was starting on 11th August:

WHY I WANT & NEED TO STICK TO THE COHEN PROGRAM 100% FROM MONDAY 11th AUGUST:

1. I have paid for a program, so I need to make it worthwhile

2. I want to lose 20 kg in 18 weeks, so I NEED to stick to it to do this

3. I want to be able to conceive safely in December, so I NEED to be at my goal weight by the start of December, in order to finish the re-feeding program by Christmas

4. It makes me feel better – no bloating, no lethargy, no stomach pain, no gas, lots more energy, better night sleeps, less mood swings

5. I WANT to be able to wear a nice dress at Christmas & New Year

6. I WANT to feel sexy again

7. I WANT to feel like I have succeeded at finishing this !!

8. Because it is IMPORTANT

9. Because no food or drink is AS IMPORTANT as the end goal

10. Because I WANT TO DO IT FOR ME

Hey Ruby

Just saw your updates - wow! You're doing really well, hon!

Loulou's challenge is great. Definitely helps keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm hoping to get my first mango this Friday.

Keep up the fine work - hopefully we'll both be done before Christmas with time to spare!

Question

How did my subtitle become:
"On my way to a new me"...???
I see others have different 'subtitles'... Can I change mine ?
I'd like it to read, "On my way to baby number 2 !!"
Thanks

I love this from you Ruby. You are so determined and focused, it's really wonderful to see.

Can we hurry up and get a Mango please? I don't want to see one on your signature before I get mine and vice versa...so you hold my hand and I'll hold yours.

Chailee
This will work for you I am sure.

I found that by sticking up my 'fat' photos (back of toilet door/on fridge/beside bed/inside pantry - really!!) that this just depressed me more, and didn't really work as a motivator. So I opted to stick up copies of me at 56kgs (taken in 2004) when I was body sculpting... Somehow I just find it more inspiring to think of what is to come, rather than looking at what has been... But thankfully that lard a^&e is gone for good !!

Am really excited about the Mango challenge too !!
hugs,
R

I likes mangoes... Especially in yogurt! It's good to see you back and you sound like you're in a great headspace! Go the mangoes!

Actually gang, as I'm a Mexican (from Melbourne), I really don't like mango at all... I have tried it a few times, but it goes in the same basket as paw paw I'm afraid...I'll stick to my apple/kiwi and apple/orange combos !
And well done Chailee on 1.7kg for the week - awesome achievement at this stage!

OMG, I had NO idea that Mexicans from Melbourne didn't like Mango. Apparently it's not the same for Banana Benders from Sydney.

Love your work Ruby. This place is that little bit nicer with you in it.

mango challenge going along nicely here...

off to a picnic today for another friend's child's 2nd birthday... they're going to come thick and fast now, as all the bubs in my Mum's group follow Amy into two-dom... But, I have made my prawn salad, and will take along my trusty 3L water container, by-pass the champers, and munch on an apple. I think a thin rice cake topped with some no-fat mayo will also be better than any sickly sweet ice-cream birthday cake too!

As our motto goes...onward and downward...

Hi Ruby

Look at you - how brilliantly are you doing!

I'm so glad you're back. I really missed you while you were gone.

I have the same thoughts as you when it comes to "motivational" techniques. I'd honestly rather not look at pics of myself at my start weight - too darn depressing! A few weeks ago, I found an old photo circa 2002 where I look seriously slim and that's been my inspirational photo ever since.

Enjoy the picnic. I attended a baby's first year party when I started Cohens and found that quite challenging - finger food always looks good to me! - but it's just a question of reminding yourself why you're doing this. As someone once said to me in my diary, it's just food - no big deal!

Have a fab weekend!

Hi Ruby

I read your post in the Nuts and Seeds question and had to drop by to thank you for the laugh. You put thingSS SSo well!

Going well girl, won't be long before you have a whole string of Mangoes dancing madly in your sig.

And I loved your inspirational list too.

I hope you had a lovely time at the party, Ruby. As you have discovered, it is possible to enjoy the company of others without eating the same food.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.
What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/
Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Come on Ruby. I know today is weigh-in day and am dying to see how you went.

Of course I will be happy for you, but am also sacred because I know you are such a good loser and my body is in 'plod' mode. Currently on a maximium loss of 100g a day! It stinks. I will be here 'til next year!

I thought Ruby's weigh in day was Wednesday? Well, today/tomorrow, I don't care...I want to see how you went too - are you up to 14kg yet??? That's my bet.

P.S. Mango energy is coming my and your way for sure this time around.
