Weekly weigh in:

Quite disappointed today to have gained 400g overnight (61.0kg) so my weekly loss is now only 0.8kg. I think it was because I had cheese yesterday. Always when I have cheese. I thought my losses were so good this week I would treat myself but alas, cheese is no good for me.

You are doing so well, .8kg is way closer to 1 kg than 0 AZ and to loose almost a kilo so close to your goal is an achievement in itself.

I am the same with cheese, while it feels like a delicious wee treat it just doesnt cut it on the scales for me so I have not had cheese for several weeks and I was finding I would get hungry by like 4pm when I had cheese for lunch whereas meat and veggies carries me right through to dinner time no problems.

Hi Anna,

Thanks for dropping by. You are right. 0.8kg is not too bad. Also, TTOM started today. Maybe a bit of fluid too

Funny thing with the cheese. I wonder if it is the salt I put on it?

Feeling a bit down at the moment. Leave for NZ in 4 days and I have only lost 200g this week (plus the 400g that I gained by eating my cheese meal). Was hoping to be under 60kg before I went away but I can't see that happening at this rate.

Hey AZ

Funny thing about setting goals - you wanted to weigh less than 60 kg but you weigh 60.40 kg and feel bad about it!

400 gm is the difference between Monday and Thursday. Keep up the water, stick to the Eating Plan and you may surprise yourself

With regards to Cheese:

Grilled Mozzarella + Veg + Salada = very yummy and oh! so welcome, Pizza!

We all need a woo! that's hot! meal every so often and grilled cheese pizza takes a lot of huffing and puffing which is at least half the fun!

Fresh Feta + Veg = Herbed or Greek style Feta Salad which is a different culinary experience altogether. (Yes, I also like grilled Feta & Spinach, it is surprisingly good!)

I balance out the sequence of meals and offset the cheese meal by having a Fish meal in the same day.

So if I have the grilled cheese pizza at eg Saturday lunchtime I would have a tuna salad with salada / tuna curry with rice cake, for dinner:
Or I might offset the Greek style Feta salad bowl at lunch with some hot fried (non-stick pan) Blue Grenadier fish with a tossed spinach salad / a chilli fish chowder with rice cake, for dinner.

Working with the cheese / fish menu choices meant that I managed to avoid the Cheese = Nil Weight Loss problem that I had previously experienced after enjoying my little pizza treat!

If you don't like fish, you can still work wonders by making sure you have a different type of meal following the cheese meal, eg a bowl of hot chicken soup, with plenty of broth and make sure you include some celery and some celery leaves as well.

Celery leaves are a miracle food, far too good to be discarded into the compost. Weigh a few fronds into almost every veg recipe, salad or cooked, and you may come to appreciate celery tops as much as I do.

Hope this helps, hope you have a great holiday to NZ and that everyone is suitably amazed when they see you!

Lotsa love
Kristine

Hi AZ,

Hey I am glad Kristine posted this - it deserves a closer look....
Quote:
you wanted to weigh less than 60 kg but you weigh 60.40 kg and feel bad about it!
And yeah, it could be gone before you leave anyway - but if not, don't sweat it, really. Why??

Well, I'm here to say that everyone in NZ will be blown away that you "look so good" - and I'd also say that, as observers, WE don't have that fine detail that you do about you. So NO-ONE would know that you weren't quite 60Kg - except you. I'd be picking that some would put you below that mark, and even some above, 'cos we only have our eyes, and you would be lookin' "Damn fine, lass!" to all of us.

We don't know your weight, and nor do we need to. Of course, you may be willing to share, and I'm sure they will all be gobsmacked with your journey if you chose to share it.

The ball is in your court though AZ - I'd say, just go back and have an awesome time helping people to pick their jaws up off the floor !!

Hugs,
Koh

Hi Kristine, Koh and Anna,

Thanks for dropping by! And for those wise words Kristine. You are so wise and your words really resonate.

My Week 14 weigh in this morning and I have lost 1.0kg (really 0.6kg due to my 400g gain) and I have weighed in at 60.0kg. It came up with 59.9kg but then settled at 60.0kg. I did the hop-on, hop-off dance a few times but it just kept coming back to 60.0kg LOL!!!!

Yesterday, I tried on a bunch of clothes that I bought back in 2014 when I finished Cohen's at 56.3kg and I could get most of them on and done up - YAY!!! My size 6 jeans, I managed to get these pulled up and, after several suck ins, got the button and zipper done up but I couldn't actually wear them out anywhere. I suspect if I sat down, the button would fling off and kill somebody - LOL!!!

I'm feeling pretty good now. I know I will gain a little whilst I am away as I will have some wine and a few nights out but I won't go crazy and I will get straight back onto EP when I get back.

I have achieved the main goal I set out to achieve and that was to get back into my favourite ski pants and I can!!! I have bought a bottle of my favourite Pinot Noir and I plan to have a glass tomorrow night to celebrate my hard earned holiday and enjoy myself.

I'll "see" you all on the other side of my trip.

Good Luck and keep on losing!!!!

Urk! Size 6666666666 jeans!

And you got them on and DONE UP!

The best I ever managed was a Size 8 Ida Jayne at 58.5 kilo after refeed in 2006! (and my Daughter has made off with these)

I think I am pretty clever wearing a pair of Katies Size 10 jeans and Millers Size 12 Essential Pants .... and I am at Personal Goal Weight of 62.5 kg and feeling seriously good about that!

Whoo! AZ, you are seriously kicking butt!

Stop sweating the small stuff, go and enjoy that holiday, and we will see you On The Other Side!!!

Hi All,

Well, I am back from our wonderful holiday in NZ. Lots of skiing, dining out, wine and fun.

Somehow, I managed to gain 5.7kg in 11 days!!! So up to 65.6kg. Not beating myself up. We had a fantastic time and I really enjoyed every minute of it

We landed very late last night so I am going to start back on plan tomorrow morning and hopefully the weight comes off as fast as it came on

Hey AZ

Welcome back - and good to see that you are raring to get back on that horse and go!

Putting weight back on very quickly underlines how important finishing the program, and doing refeed, are to the long term success of your weight loss

It is easy to achieve a comfortable weight and think that's enough, then realise with dismay that the weight goes back on almost as if your body has become a giant magnet for fat!

But you will now work through to the end and stabilise - I finished four weeks ago and weigh the same on Day 28 as on Day 1 Out In The Wild with only minor variations on a daily basis across 28 days, and so will you.

Allow yourself a day to de-tox, and three days back on the program to adjust, be aware you may have the de-tox headache but by the end of the week you will be back in the rhythm and will lose that pesky 5 kilo in no time!

Onwards we go!

Lotsa love
Kristine

Okay, so Day 1 back on plan after holidays and I weighed in at 66.3kg (so I have gained 6.4kg (1 stone) in 13 days). Hoping it will come off quickly.

Unfortunately, I have a Birthday Dinner out with friends on 9th September and then a school reunion on 16th September so I suspect I will not be getting on to refeed for a little while. But I will try to be 100% on EP except for on these occasions and then get to 59.5kg and do my refeed. Again, I'm off for a long weekend with my husband on the 15th October so I am hoping I will be done and dusted by then.

So hard to keep living on this program which is why I so wanted to have completed it and finished refeed before going to NZ.

Anyway, life happens! Onwards and downwards!!!

Default Re: AZ's On EP Again

Hey AZ,
6.4kgs for a good holiday I would say is worth it, 1 week on plan and you will probably kick at least half of that as I am sure it takes more than a week or two for the fat to settle in for the long term and then you will be on track again heading in the right direction.

I am going to watch your progress with interest mainly because I have wondered about tricking the body with a sudden increase in calories when things start to slow and then going back to low calorie (obviously not cohens allowed) but I have seen lots of people do it successfully on other programs.
