Hi Ruby

So glad the meal swopping is working out for you! I experienced the exact same thing. Suddenly, I just wasn't hungry in the slightest. And it's nice going to bed with your smallest meal in your belly, isn't it? Makes you feel a lot less bloated. Now I realise what dieticians always say NOT to have your biggest feasts close to bedtime!

Hope the second week of switcheroos works out for you. I do all sorts of strange things with my programme. I might do swopped days (i.e. with Meal 1 as dinner) for three days, then go back on a "normal" day (i.e. with Meal 1 as breakfast) for a day or two, then swop again. I'm not sure if it actually helps speed the losses up but hey, at least I'm not bored!

Hmm... I thinks it's worth a go with the meal swapping... I will do it tomorrow! I hope I have the same positive experience with it that you did!

I really liked your suggestion Ruby!! In fact, I think I will start it off. Not many people have made any other comments on the 100% thread...but I like the idea of giving yourself a score each week...so if you do have a deviation...say, like fish n chips for example you would score a zero for that meal. You would be out of the running for a banana/mango, but at least you would give yourself a result for the week that you can aim to beat the following week.

It all starts this Friday - dancing Banana anyone????

oops, forgot to add that TOM now arriving 3 days early - after last months effort of arriving 5 days late! Crazy isn't it J ...?
But happily, after a 'joyous' BM and TOM visit, weight went down 400g over night - so now down to a new low of 69.1kg. (I know, I know, official weigh in is on Monday). But I'm celebrating this little win, after a sheitful day at work... so am also adjusting my ticker accordingly!
woo hoo

Hooray for you. I was reading my diary and saw you were down, so just had to stop by. I shift my ticker on a daily basis now. Well, since I only lose weight once a week, I stillonly get to move it once, but you get my drift.

Re the TOMs, I have no idea what is going on.

Default Blood test dilemma & waiting for refeed - the right time ??!!

Now a few people would know why I want to be finished by Xmas... but my 16 week blood test is due on 1st Dec. (12 week test about to be done this coming Monday)... SO I am wondering what to do (like Justine).
Do I order refeed before I have my 16 week blood test done - assuming I get down to about 56 - 58 kgs sooner than I 'expected', or wait until after, and then maybe have to wait weeks (+ Xmas down time) for the program...!!?!?! Meaning I won't be done by Xmas, and before when we wanted to start 'making' baby number 2 !
I am also now using Justine's idea of changing the ticker daily - what is a great motivator. What you up to Chailee?

Hi Ruby,
When you get closer and think you are ready, you can have a blood test at any time, you don't have to wait.
I had a blood test when I thought I was ready and ended up waiting another 2 weeks and then had another blood test.

If you loose 1kg a week, you can order your re feed in another 3-5 weeks and still be done by christmas.

Don't rush into it as christmas will come around again next year, and you will want to finish it of properly to give yourself the best chance to have your weight stable for the rest of your life.

They have ordered my refeed!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my god! I emailed them this morning, because I knew I would be out and about and they generally respond better to an email anyway.

And when I got home this afternoon, the reply was that they had ordered my refeed and it would tell me when to start!!! God (want to say another word, but don't want to be admonished at this critical moment!).

Don't worry girls, I won't be starting it yet, but Ruby, I think that answers your question. Order it after your 12 week blood test.

Eek. Am I ready for this? Not to worry, will just sit on it for a while until I am.

Default more refeed questions...

Thanks Shell for that great info.
So if I'm getting this properly, the idea is:
when I get down to 'within range' i.e 56 - 58kg, then I should just go and have another blood test at this point (whenever that is) and then call my clinic and order refeed...

I hope this is right.
And just so I'm clear, is it correct that you should be completely D free for 4 weeks prior to starting refeed? Or is it more like 10 days, where I read theis I can't remember now...
Obviously the aim is to be at 100% DF (as always), but with different medications etc affecting the blood test results etc, I wonder how it all works out if you come up with Dev's in your results...?

Thanks team
Ruby

If that is within a couple of kilos from your goal weight Ruby-yes.

Keep deviation free because you could start re feed at any time!

Maybe sooner than you think- some can have really good losses at the end.
Shell

Back again, just checked my diary.
My losses in the last 5 weeks were:
-1.4kg
-700g
-1.1kg
-700g
-1.4kg

Hi Ruby

This refeed thing is very complicated, isn't it? My understanding from reading the forum is you have to have at least 10 d-free days before you start refeed. My consultant didn't say anything about that, but she said that she knew I'd been following the programme closely, so she might have just assumed I was going to be d-free throughout anyway.

As to when to order it, my consultant allows us to order refeed when we're 2kg away from the top-end of our goal weight range. So for you, that would be 60kg. No need to wait until you arrive within your range, AFAIK. I'm not sure if there are local differences, so best if you check with your consultant.

For me, my top-end is 55kg and my bottom end is 53kg. I'm 55.4kg today and doing my bloods on Sat. My consultant will formally order my refeed on Monday.

Hope to refeed with you, hon! We can do this together! With Ceburoo! And looks like Justine is getting hers soon too. Exciting times...

Default blood test question

Sorry Ruby - realise I didn't reply to your question about blood tests (either posted here or on Justine's diary). My consultant told me that I would need a "fresh" blood test at the time of ordering refeed, unless it so happened that one of my regular, scheduled blood tests was done within two weeks of ordering my refeed. Hope that makes sense!

These scenarios represent my understanding of my clinic's position on this.
Scenario A:
12 week blood test done on 1 Nov
You can order refeed (without doing additional blood test) from 1 Nov - 15 Nov

Scenario B
12 week blood test due on 1 Dec
You want refeed NOW!
Clinic will send you for a blood test now, no need to do 12 week blood test

Scenario C
12 week blood test done on 1 Nov
You decide to order refeed on 25 Nov
Clinic will send you for a blood test on 25 Nov

Boo Hoo...!!!
You're all leaving for Refeed Land, and I'm left here with 5 kgs to go !!

Actually, Shell , those figures of yours are excellent motivation for me. When I am "in the zone" I know I can drop 300g EVERY DAY... just gotta keep on going, I know what to do... And as for Xmas, it's not about the Xmas feast (which makes me feel ill at the thought of it now), but I just don't want to have to stop my refeed (or worse, not get to start it) because I fall pregnant in mid December - as this is what we were aiming for...
Also, I was wondering, if I did fall pregnant, would all the pregnancy hormones muck up the refeeding or rebalancing of the other hormones, at this late stage, and mean it all goes out the window..??

(Can prob hear I'm a bit anxious now! )

Thank you so much for going to so much trouble there. That helps me to understand things too.
