Yes, any loss is a good loss. You're that much closer to the goal.

I hope you have/had a lovely time at the party, Cindy. I agree, the best way to avoid temptation is to keep yourself from it -- don't go near the dessert table.

Cindy -

You are getting so close!!!! 3/4 goal has been reached - now it's the home stretch!!

I think it's really good that you are able to go to social events now and see how strong you are and how committed you are to your body and health. I know it's a real challenge to stay on your plan in the face of all the temptation, but the temptations will always be there in life. It will make it that much easier when you are in maintenance to continue with the social stuff and remember that you can participate and still honor your body because you are doing that now. The strength you are building now will only help you later, too. These changes you are making are changes for life. If you think of this way of eating as temporary - then the skinny body will be temporary, too.

Hope that didn't sound too harsh
Just meant it as some realistic encouragement

Go, Cindy, Go!!!!!!

Week 12 Day 4

Thanks everyone who stopped by for your support...it really means a lot to me.

Today the scales were sweet to me again...I am on a bit of a roll
I have lost a total of 30 lb (13.7kg) SO HAPPY!!!

I am also really proud of myself for doing so well at the party last night. There were beautiful fruit and veggie trays...and I could have eaten veggies all night long...but I made sure that I only had my alloted Cohen's amount (I had to eyeball it since I didn't have a scale...but I think I did well)...and I was able to have seared tuna which was perfect. I did take a quick look at the dessert table while I was passing by and OH MY it was beautiful...especially the cheesecake...she is known for her amazing cheesecake and let me tell you...I have never had better and I grew up in NY...home of the cheesecake. But, I stayed away from that table for the rest of the night. People ate there desserts while I was talking to them and at that point I wasn't even really tempted. Weird how when you make up your mind ahead of time it makes it easier to just go with it. Also a great motivator is when people come up to you and tell you how great you look...it's helps to not deviate.

Thats it for today. Hope you all have a great Cohen's day.

Cindy

Hery Cindy, im a newbie one here... But i will totally celebrate when you hit the sixties.... your sooo close... you should vent your frustration at not yet having hit them with the suggestion Deb had on Pennys diary.. smash plates or punch a punching bag... you will probably easily hit it then with the exercise ahahha!!!!

Hoping you hit it by the weeks end

Week 12 Day 6

Well...4th day on a Plateau well actually there has been some movement...the scales went up...but then thankfully they came back down again...still the same as I was Sunday. YUCK!!! Am I ever going to be a 60's girl???

So tomorrow I leave for my trip. Feeling a little less freaked out about the trip. I think I have it all worked out. I'll be able to cook at my sisters house...I am staying there for the first two days...then we go to a hotel for 5 nights. I realized I won't need to worry because during the day I'll be working at my Uncles House (he passed away a while back and we have to clean the house to get it ready to sell) so I can cook what ever I need for my meals everyday. I am all set. I'm also bringing my new Weight Watchers portable scale and my food scale...and tons of other things I'll need. And the other good news is that I will be there with my sister and mother and they are both on diets...YEAH!!! so we won't have any "bad" foods around us for temptations.

I'm bringing my computer so I will be on the forum for support as well.

Hope everyone is well.

Toodles,

Cindy

Now that's the way to go away for a holiday, Cindy, although it sounds like it won't exactly be a holiday. Take everything with you. Seems you have it all worked out when you're there too.

Better than wondering if you will ever be an 80s girl, as I am

Week 13 Day 4

After all the preparations I made for my holiday...I DEVIATED...my first deviation since I started the diet on Jan 3rd (other than unintentional) I had 2 oz of red wine on Friday night I didn't eat my crackers for the day because I had decided to have some wine that night...thought I would make up for the carb a bit. I am actually really okay with it...I made my mind up to do it and I did it...then I went right back to being deviation free. Actually, the next night I went to my friends 50th bday party and there was a full bar and didn't have anything except sparkling or flat water the whole night.

Now...with all that said...I am finally a 60's girl. I can't believe I finally got here...even with my deviation. YEAH!!!

Hi Cindy,

Well done with hitting the 60's You can tick of that goal in your list

I think you did really well while you were on holidays with only 2oz of wine for a deviation especially when there are sooo many more things to tempt us when we are in holiday mode.

Keep up the good work because that goal weight is getting closer and closer!

Congratulations on being in the 60s, Cindy. You are now very close to goal. You must be feeling (deservedly) terrific.

I think you were very brave to go on holiday at all. Two oz of red wine isn't such a deviation. What's much more important is that you were able to decide how much you would have, then stick to that.

Once again, well done

Week 14 Day 1

This traveling is killing me. I am way down in Virginia where they don't believe in cooking anything that isn't fried. It has been a nightmare trying to get Cohen friendly foods. Most of my meals I've been able to cook..thankfully...and most of the meals out have been okay other than not being able to weigh...but tonights dinner was a complete mess...the measurements were pretty good but there was a bit too much olive oil and its amazing how I really noticed it and didn't like it...or need it for that matter. Anyway, I can't wait to be home again...but still have 10 more days away.

I have not lost any weight in this past week which is soooo annoying...especially since I'm so close to re-feed.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes and your congrats to me on becoming a 60's girl.

Hope everyone is well.

Cindy

How frustrating to be so close to goal and not able to completely control what you're eating, Cindy. As shell said, if you have a major deviation, it really seems to fall of when you get back to 100% again. Also look at Debs.
