Talking New New New "10kg in 6 Weeks" challenge anyone? Starting week of 7/9/08

Hello all,

I am feeling so completely motivated for the first time in a very long time and desperately want to do a 6 week challenge in order to complete my 12 week challenge, for which I am lagging far behind in my goal!

I know that doesn't make much sense, but I need to lose 13.5kg in 6 weeks to have achieved my 12 week challenge

As far as I can tell there are no current 6 weeks challenges going on - is anyone interested in doing one? I am happy to run it, or join another one if there is one.

Please, please reply if you want to do it, or if there is a new one for me to join.

Thanks!

Beauty! OK, we have officially started our own new "10kg in 6 weeks" challenge!

A big, official welcome to Belinda, Tina and the beautiful Vee (I hardly recognised you... you're looking soooooo slim!!!!).

What I need is for you guys to give me your current stats and each week we can see how much smaller and lighter we're getting... we will be amazed!

So, I need from you:

Current weight
and measurements for:
Neck
Arm
Chest
Waist
Hips
Thigh (just one will do)

Each week someone will be the reigning champion of all things getting either smaller or lighter (or both, if you are that lucky!).

If anyone else wants to join can you please join very quickly so all our weeks are starting within a few days of each other - otherwise it will get very messy and hard to manage.

Get back to me ASAP with your stats girls..... and good luck.... away we gooooooooo!!!!!!!

Hi Coco,

Don't forget Honeybun:-
http://newyouforum.com/forum/showpos...3&postcount=86

And you, Coco, wow - you are on fire eh? Something to prove to yourself? I'm sure you will, and in style !!! Go get it for you girl

Hugs,

Koh

PS I'm sure you've already worked out that the ONLY way you will make your goal is "flat out 100% all the way" - even then, it'll be tight - but hey, aim for the stars. Even if it becomes unattainable, you will be SO FAR AHEAD of where you might otherwise have been that it WILL be worth the effort !!!

Thanks Koh - I forgot to check up on that other thread... duh!!!

Thanks also for the rah rah - I feel like I'm a bit out of whack in the way my motivation fluctuates, so this will DEFINITELY keep me on track. You can't RUN a challenge and be naughty.... that's just not the Cohen's way.....

AND, another official welcome to Honeybuns who will be in double digits in a matter of minutes!!!!! Don't forget to submit your stats Honeybuns.....

Speaking of "in a matter of minutes", what about you, Coco? You must be a sneeze away from kissing that "M" word good-bye - about to move into a lower BMI range "any minute"

You go girl - run with it - you know you can, and want to,

Koh

hehe - not quite sure when I get rid of that "M", I'll have to look into that - imagine when the "O's" gone too!

I just realised I wrote "single digits" for honeybuns instead of "double digits".... I'm sure she knows what I meant though..... I did notice that YOU didn't pick it up though Koh - what's wrong with you????

Your BMI is showing 40.0 - as soon as it starts with a "3", you drop that horrible "M" word !!! But yeah, I'm picking you are already imagining the "O" word being gone too !! And WHY NOT??

You know it works, and will happen eh? Stay positive, stay light and happy, and 3 - 4 months on, that "O" word will be history too....

Hehe - I just wanted to see if you'd notice (whew! that was close !!) Anyway, if you wish, all you need to do is go that post, click "Edit", and you can fix it.

Good plan - I've done it now.... no-one will ever know....ssshhhhh.....

Oh, and if that's the case then I am teetering precariously on the precipice of not having to worry that I'm about to die from obesity! You gotta be happy with that!

Cheeky wench !!!!

But yeah, you gotta be happy to lose that tag - stand on that precipice, spread your wings, fly and be free of that bloody horrible "M" word, Coco - can't be far away at all - even 100g could do it. Tomorrow morning? Whenever, it's worth a BIG celebration !!

BMI is purely a calculation of Weight vs height. Unless your scales are able to measure your height, I'd guess it is NOT a BMI measure. Could be a "fat %" though - should be around 20 - 25% when you finish...

If you tell me your height, I'll tell you your BMI - but then, sounds like it is 40 right now. So, by my calculations, that means you are 1.677 metres tall. (Or 5' 6" in the old money) If that IS your height, Coco, then 40 is correct - and the scales are reading something other than BMI.

I am 167cm which is about 5.6 on the old scale. My scales asked me for my height and age though, so I'm not sure what it's calculating then.... by what you've said I think the 40 is right (yay!) but, if you could confirm whether I'm really on that precipice or not I would be forever grateful....

Hi Louise and welcome aboard! The more the merrier... and the more exciting it will be when you are the "champ of the week"!

Do you want to keep track of your neck measurement too? You don't have to, but I think everyone else is.

Good luck for the next week too!!

Well, you've just confirmed it !! Your scales have the problem.

BMI is Weight divided by height in metres squared. In your case, this reads as:-

40 = 112.5 / (1.677 x 1.677)

Get your calculator out, and confirm that this is true. Your BMI is 40, and is on the precipice of dropping into the 30's

For you to have a BMI of 52, at your height, you'd be weighing 145.6Kg

OR, at your current weight, you'd be only 1.47m tall (4' 10").

Methinks your scales have a problem
