Default Yogurt as snacks?

Hi,

I tend to get hungry very quickly the week before my TOM. So, I'm wondering if I've to snack, is a small cup of yogurt ok?

I think so - so long as it falls within the original guidelines, as yoghurt can have a lot of sugar in it. Perhaps have your yoghurt with a portion of your fruit (i enjoy my greek yoghurt with some stewed peach / apple (which are always in the freezer) - or a bunch of berries, kiwi fruit, finely diced apple hen I am on the run). or even just yoghurt by itself and some cinnamon (or perhaps a drop of vanilla extract)

yes also flamz have some cottage cheese with cucumber or a cracker or two, just eat protein as snacks instead of fruit as they will keep u going.. u can also get delish protein shakes full of vitamins and minerals and no sugar and very very very low carb, lower carb content than natural yoghurt. i have one which is 90 calories and intended to use as a snack not a meal replacement.. it keeps me going for up to 4 hrs if i have a long gap between meals and it doesnt affect my weight at all
in fact i can lose weight with it, i dont gain

I have discovered that I can't mix proteins within the 5 hours. If you have the protein snacks and find you have weight gain, it's just something to bear in mind.

Hi Flamie,

I find yoghurt works well for me. I use the same yoghurt I used on the programme and sometimes put fruit with it. On my maintenance guidelines this is recommended.

So glad to see you are in a good space.
Shanara

I too use yoghurt and cheese and chicken sticks (tenderloins covered in chilli and garlic and threaded onto a stick) as snacks mid afternoon...

Yes, I also use cheese and I have started buying smoked chicken legs and seeing how I go with them.

When I was in USA beef and turkey jerky was great as well. Here it tastes like cardboard. Does anyone know where you can get USA beef or turkey jerky in Sydney?

Thanks
Shanara

hey shanara
i buy biltong, its dried beef, so delicious.

depends where u live in sydney, but some butchers sell it, also south african delis and butchers sell it. pm me if u want and i can tell u which ones i buy it from?! i even treated myself to wagyu biltong last wk. melt in your mouth! so delicious.
dr c recommends it as he is south african so he knows what biltong is.

At least you bought healthy foods. I am having the most terrible PMS this week, the worst in many months. I feel so bloated, and I am also VERY hungry. Wednesday and Thursday of last week and today it's like I can't stop eating, I just don't get full!!! What an awfull feeling.

Well, on days that I feel terribly hungry, what I do is take bread in between meals - then "bloat" my stomach with water - that pretty much fills me up for the longer time ever. I've kinda worked out something that works for me without weight gain so hope this helps people who are struggling with hunger!
