Well I have been pretty slack, today is day 6 of refeed. My refeed is 18 days. So far I have just been adding more old pretein and veg. A good fruit, today I add 2 good fruit and I have been allowed bread since day 3.

I went to get some more fruit today and got some rockmelon, as I have only had pineapple as a good fruit, got it home and went to have some and the damn thing was still crunchy, so I have still only added P/Apple as a new fruit. I will try to get some more rockmelon another day. Hopefully they will be better then the ones they had in the shop today.

My weight has been pretty stable, sat on 61.0 from wednesday to saturday, sunday I had dropped to 60.4 then this morning I was 60.5.

I am hoping to meet with my consultant when she comes to town this week, just depends if MIL can have the girls for me. I am also going to go to the Info session she is doing on Cohens. I have never been to one and I know it seems a bit backwards considering I have almost finished but my PT is amazed at what Cohens has done and she also wants to come along.

I have found I am obsessing about food It is terrible. I wake up in the middle of the night and start thinking about new recipes I can cook once I am on maintenence and it takes me hours to get back to sleep. I have also taken a liking to baking....which could be dangerous. I made some lovely (well, I am told they are lovely) muffins and biscuits the other day. I have found a heap of recipes I have printed for different things but I gotta get over that! At the moment, it doesn't bother me to bake and not eat it, I love the smell of fresh baked what ever, however once I am no longer on 'the program' that may just change. I will see how I go.

Anyway better keep going

Default Day 7

I woke this morning and still have a stitch like feeling in my right side, sort of at my hip. I don't know what is going on there. I am going to just have my crackers today and no bread and see what happens. I actually think it has more to do with TTOM, I should of had a visit but they seem to have gone MIA

I am going to go on the hunt to find some nice rockmelon today, if I can't I might try some blueberries. I have never, ever had blueberries before, so am a bit reluctant to pay the small fortune for them incase I don't like them.

I can't believe how much of a difference a few extra grams can make to a piece of steak I went through my refeed the other day and worked out what weights of what proteins I need and have them all pre weighed, far out the pieces of steak look huge.

Weight was up 100gms on yesterday to 60.6, so still -400gms on my starting weight of 61.0. Actually the first time I got on the scales this morning it was 60.3, but I always double check and when I got on the second time (10 seconds later) it was 60.6 so I checked and checked and it stayed at 60.6 - bugger!!! I would have preferred it to go back to the 60.3 - ahhh welll!

Well I am going to get the kids organised and head to the shops early.

Have a good one

Welcome to refeed, DC. I've been amazed at how constant my weight has been. Try frozen blueberries. They're cheaper, and if you are adding them to anything else, e.g. yoghurt where they are lovely, it doesn't make a difference.

I'm also looking forward to being able to cook all sorts of interesting recipes again. With regard to baking, I talked about this with my consultant yesterday. My plan is to have one slice as in the guidelines, and put the rest in the freezer. I'll leave at least two days between slices. I know from past experience that it's eating up leftover carbs on a daily basis that gets me off track and into the weight gain spiral.

I think that if you possibly can, it's worth having a face to face talk with your consultant. Take your children with you if you can't get anyone to mind them.

Good luck with refeed.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Default Day 8

Well day 8

Weight is still stable 60.6.

Had my yoghurt with fresh blueberries this morning. First time I have EVER had them, they were nice but different to what I was expecting.

Today I added 2 pieces of bread, and have had no probs, maybe a little 'wind' but nothing major. Was very full after lunch. I made a sandwhich so both pieces at the same time....... is that allowed?? I just thought of that, I hope so

Apart from that everything is pretty much the same, protein and veg have slightly increased.

I have so got to get over this 'baking bug' I have at the moment. My freezer has so much stuff in there, which isn't bothering me at the moment, but I just hope it isn't going to be a bad temptation once I have finished, you know? If that is the case I will have to just get rid of them. I hope I can be strong enough though, to be able a have A treat once in a while, and stop at just one.

Anyway I should go and get my dinner ready as I have to go to the school tonight for a 'Transition Meeting' and enroll my big girl at 'big' school

Tomorrow I am meeting with my consultant as she is in town for 2 days and that will probably be the last time I have to see her. I am also going to the Cohens Information night she is doing, I have never been to one and am just interested in what it is all about. I always seem to do things ***** about face... Ahh well

I finished my Wedding Invitations yesterday, finally, so DF and I are going to drop the kids off and go for a ride and deliver them. We are going to wait until next Sunday though as it should be my first day on maintenance.

Can't wait to jump on the back and not feel like a blob, might even have to buy some new jeans

Any way enough from me
Have a good one

Hi DC

Hope the meeting with your consultant went well.

I'm on Day 4 and still hungry! And way too busy which is very annoying. I've been collecting recipes but I haven't stated baking yet. AJ's idea sounds like a good one and I'm also thinking of baking things and taking them to work where I know they will disappear very quickly and I'll be lucky if I get any!

x

hehehe Dc ...... just read your refeed diary and got the giggles,

So many of us took up baking in the last weeks of the program or on refeed

never did figure out what that was about!

Keep up the good work, the obsession does go away - eventually

Yes obsession with food at this time seems pretty normal...it is bizarre, I also did the whole baking thing too and it is BAD news....I think its like we are setting ourselves up to fall when we finish...at least thats what I found but like I said I think its fairly normal. Doesn't make it any less scary.

Are you going to Regina's tonight? I am going as I need the motivation to get back on Cohens 100% and drop this 7 kilos before Christmas...will meet you there if you go, Penny is also coming with me

Yep I did the baking as well!
Never did it before and haven't done it since.
Now I have a cupboard full of "ingredients" I probably will never use.

Phew, so it seems I am normal Actually I just finished baking some white choc and macadamia bikkies Figured I had to use up some of the ingredients I have stocked up on.

Hexi - no I am not going to Reginas tonight. I have never been to a meet up, but I did meet Regina the other day.

Thanks for popping in LL, Karen, Connie and Shell.

Lucylou - I hope you are starting to feel a bit more satisfied as the days go by.

Okay so today is Day 10

My weight was -400gms to 60.2 this morning.

Today I add 1 Bad fruit and am allowed 3 pieces of bread and my old protein and vege increases.

I must say I am very satified after eating now.
Today I will have

Brekky: Yoghurt and a piece of Toast with banana and cinnamon
M/Tea: Apple
Lunch: Steak Sandwhich with Salad
A/Tea: Orange
Dinner: Chicken Stirfry and Pineapple

I was also wondering if someone can clear this up for me, as I can't find the thread. I know there was one not so long ago.

I started refeed at 61.0kgs I am now 60.2kgs. With the 1kg rule is that from my lowest weight (60.2) or from my refeed start weight (61.0)??

So, what I am asking is do I go back and repeat 2 days if my weight gets to 61.2 or 62.0kgs?

I am a little confused on this one?

Well better keep going, have a good one

DC

I was told by my clinic that it was from refeed start weight and there are threads here which say the same, but some clinics say different. So that would be 62.0kg.

discussion was here:

DC I was told it was 1 kg from my lowest weight, as that was my stabilisation point at which my body had run out of fat and had enough food. That actually makes more sense to me than 1 kg from start weight, which can be a bit arbitrary.

Hmmm I'm still confused but I'm going to go from my start of refeed weight, that's what I've been told and I'm happy with that.

Oh and I succumbed to the baking bug today DC. We're having a work lunch so it was the perfect excuse. I have no idea what it tastes like but it looks and smells great!

Thanks you all for your replies. I have also been told it is 1kg from my lowest weight. Hopefully, with only 3 days left on refeed I wont have to worry about it. Fingers Crossed.

Shell - I started refeed at 61.0kgs and as of this morning I was 59.3 so, if I get to 60.3 I would have to go back 2 days.

I can not believe the amount of food I am eating.... O>>>M>>>>Goodness!!! I keep double checking the weights to make sure I have it right. My meals are HUGE!!

For those already on maintenance, do you drop it back a bit once you have finished refeed.

For eg. This is what I had today.

Brekky - Yoghurt, 1 Piece of toast w butter, 1 Banana, Cup of Tea with Milk

Smoko - Apple

Lunch - 'Hamburger' (meat patty, fried Onion, Tomato, Lettuce, Cucumber, Mayo 2 Slices Bread. PLUS a Lamb stirfry with Zuchini, Broccoli, Mushrooms

A/noon - Pear

Dinner - Lamb, beef and veg ........... something (not sure what it would be called) and portion of pasta. ANNNNNDDDDD an Apple.

Surley you can't keep eating this much once on maintenance, can you

Arghhh gotta sort the girls out BBL

Hi Dreamchaser,
If you started re feed at 61kg, if you go over 62kg, you go back 2 days- you went the wrong way!

Now I am on maintenance I am eating heaps more food, but am exercising a bit.

I have found if I stick to mainly Cohen's foods, eat preservative free as possible plus a few more healthier varieties, only have carbs (other than crackers) once a week (at lunch time), I can eat SO much!
You would be amazed... I am eating 6 times a day...but that is me.

You will work out what works for you, just give yourself time.
Have a good day.

Does anyone know if there is a rule as to how many proteins you can mix?

I have little bits of New Proteins left over, I am wondering if I could do a stirfry with Beef, Chicken Thigh and Lamb?

TIA

DC, my consultant said the same as yours about the 1 kg gain. It's from the lowest point you reach, not the start of refeed.

I roughly added all the calories in the food on my last day of refeed and had a total of about 1500 calories, in spite of the huge quantities and the wine and carbs. That's about what I think I should be eating each day in maintenance. I suspect you might have more calories than me, being younger, but in spite of the quantities you are not eating excessive calories in a day.

Shell, I didn't mean that you don't lose on refeed, but that if you lose weight the lowest weight is always the one that you mustn't go over by more than a kilo. In my case, I started refeed at 65.5 kgs, dropped to 65.2 kgs, so I would have had to go back two days if I gained more than one kilo from 65.2 kgs.

Default Bugger!!!!

Today is day 17 of my 18 day refeed and..........I have added a stinking kilo

I started refeed at 61.0 have hovered in the 59's for most of the time with my lowest being 59.3 on wednesday (day 15) then 59.6 yesterday and 60.3 this morning.

I have rang my consultant and she said because it is spot on a kilo to wait until tomorrow and if it is up again to go back the two days.

Yesterday I added pumpkin and a sweet biscuit, the biscuit is EVIL

So fingers crossed I don't gain anything today, I am supposed to be adding alcohol today, but I might wait until tomorrow for that. Will also go back to my crackers today and no bread.

Wish me luck.........

Good luck, DC. Did you have a stressful day yesterday? I stayed steady through most of refeed, went up a bit in the last few days, then was up a kilo after a particularly busy last day of refeed. I wasn't more than a kilo, and it didn't make any sense to go back based on the very last day even if I was. However, I think the gain was due to being particularly busy (and hence stressing my body) rather than the food I was eating. With luck you'll be okay tomorrow.
