Default When to weigh

Hi i am confused well i first weighed myself after 4 weeks and then i was going to do it every week from then but someone said that if you wait the 4 weeks you get a bigger result on the scale so better to wait. Someone told me today that has done it said to weigh every week cause he thinks people lose more if they do cause you are watching the scale.

I dont know, can any one help me????

Annie

I was told from my consultant to only weigh once a month - I can't wait that long so in the beginning I was weighing every day. That was demotivating for me when I hadn't lost a bit or if the scales went up so I moved to twice/week. I found that to be better. Now I am trying to only weigh 1/mth but we'll see how that goes.
I might go to weighing 1/wk for the motivational factor since at the moment I need or the help I can get.

Long story short - do whatever works for you!

Weigh yourself as often as you feel comfortable.

I'm a daily weigher but that's because I turned this into a clinical study of how my body was reacting. Even though I'm fairly hard headed and not prone to self-pity, I found that days where weight loss was minimal, non-existant, for reversed, I could get down in the dumps and that'd make me miserable for the whole day. After a kick up the butt from LF, I started to look at the bigger picture. You can see my charts are fairly detailed and the inclusion of a trend line made daily weighing bearable. When I had a bad day, I would look at the trendline and see the direction it was heading. A good rate of decline would nullify one of bad days.

So it's really up to you. Weekly if that feels right, monthly if you want the maximum impact in your weights or daily if you're a glutton for self mental torture.

I'm a daily weigher.... I need immediate reinforcement. BUT I'm also not overly concerned by small movements/ upwards movements on the scale. Since I eat out alot, it gives me a good indication of whether I'm overeating as well. If I waited a month between weigh ins, I could easily have put on 10kg instead of losing it!!!! I find it easy to lie to myself, and be deceived about whether I'm overeating or not. So, the scales give me a clear indication of whats going on.
So, as ecogirl says, do what works for you.

I was only weighing in the mornings before my appointments as that is what my plan stated.
Then I got an email in between appointments asking what my weight was. A bit confusing.

At the moment I am weighing weekly as I am starting to get the comments that I have lost enough.

I am 2.8kgs away from my refeed at the top end of my goal (62-65 kgs).

I think it is really when you are comfortable with weighing yourself.

Do what ever you are comfortable with.

I only weigh once a month, because i do my measurements each week and that keeps me motivated, and partly it is a challenge for me to not weigh, bit like not eating food.

Everyone seems to do it differently...but if we were all the same it would be pretty boring!!!

Kind Regards
Anna

I weigh everyday - only because I get a buzz out of seeing how much I'm weighing now.

Before Cohens I was a daily weigher and if the scales went up I was in for a bad day.

Now everyday is a good day cause I currently weigh 38kgs less than when I started.

To keep motivated and I guess intrigued by the program I weigh everyday but am only really concerned with the weekly/monthly result.

There are days when the scales go up but by the end of the week they are always less than at the start.

As everone has said - do whatever you are comfortable with. In the end it doesn't matter how often you weigh it's more to do with following your program correctly and the weight will just come off.

Take care
