Default Faithy's Re~Feed Journal

So here (finally) is my first entry into my re-feed.. I can't believe it's finally time.. I've had a few tears.. some from excitement, bewilderment & I suppose sadness..

So I am confused LOL.. yes!!!! Already.. so I'm helping those gone before me may be able to shed some light.. I'll try to list things as vague as possible so as not to give too much away ..

On my re-feeding calender it list things such as protein how much old or new to add etc, veggies, fruit, bread, milk, carbohydrates & alcohol.. on day 1 for example it list how much 'old' protein to add, how much 'old' veggies to add.. so I'm guessing the amount next to carbohydrates of crispbreads is extra.. on top of my usual allowance??? Same with the bread??

I hope someone can help... although I have emailed my clinic to clarify..

I'm starting this tomorrow.. I can hardly wait

From what I can remember the first day of refeed was just a little bit more of the standard Cohen foods.

Just take it a day at a time, if you look at it day by day it's not that complex actually, its only complex if you try to remember what you have to do every single day for the next 16 or so days.

Just take it a day at a time, its really fun actually, day by day something new.

BTW 88KG...is absolutely fantastic effort, your commitment is beyond words!

Hi Faithy,
From what I can remember on the program they showed me for an example at my clinic, when it has the amount of carbs per day- I dont think that is extra.
I think that is what your daily allowance is.

How exciting
I will be joining you either next week or the week after- had final blood test yesterday!!
Have a great day today starting your refeed, relax and enjoy it -how long is it?

Wow Faithy - only 15 days!!

I journalled my whole refeed, showing menu day by day if that helps.

I wrote out the whole 20 days and really got my head around it before I started it. It weas add old, then add new and old, then add new take old, from memory.

Oh, how exciting.

YA FAITHY - this is so exciting....

Our consultant suggested that refeed is MUCH easier if you plan the whole lot out BEFOREHAND - write it all out what you are going to eat otherwise it can be really confusing. Our consultant uses a table chart so that we can write it all in which she said she never had when she did the program and that it would have made life much easier...

Can't wait to see you finish the journey off - you are such a role model!

Thanks so much Peoples ..

I don't know how to take all your positive comments sometimes.. I find them truly humbling & I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.. It means more than you know the way you have all supported me through this weird but amazing journey..

Well day 1 was awesome!!!!!!!! I was actually up a little bit in weight when I started yesterday which kind of annoyed me a little.. of all days to go up.. but today I seem to have dropped back down which surprised me a little but it helps me stay positive..

Well I have to tell you that yesterday food wise was such a ride!!!! I felt FULL & incredibly content.. I thought to myself this morning that I'd be happy doing just what I did yesterday for the rest of my life .. Having just that small extra amount made such an incredibly difference..

I'm popping in to my clinic on Tuesday.. they're dying to see me LOL.. I just LOVE those ladies.. they have been my rock!!.. Speaking of which.. is it wrong to buy them a box of chocolates?? :P.. Probably.. Hmmmm what do you get your consultant when you just want to reach out & say thank you... must ponder this one..

Wonderful to see you on refeed Faithy! Enjoy and savour all that new food! I caught up with a friend who started cohens around xmas and i havent seen her until yesterday! Wasnt even sure if she "stuck to it" but i had tears in my eyes when i saw her, 16kg gone and now a happy 55kg and finished her refeed! She loved refeed AND she lost 1kg by the end of it! How exciting!

As for your cohen consultant/s why not some gorgeous and colourful flowers - vibrant and vivacious just like you!

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Thanks Pandora & AJ .. Yeah I think flowers is good.. both the ladies at my clinic are just gorgeous.. I feel it's the least I can do

Well I'm a little bit of a goose.. I hadn't read my good fruit section properly & so up till now had just been adding an extra apple, so this morning this goose added pineapple.. OH MY!!!!! LOL.. Like heaven!!!!

So this morning I had yoghurt mixed with a touch of sprite zero, cinnamon & freshly cut pineapple.. it was DIVINE!!!! I normally just enjoy my yoghurt on it's own but thought I'd try something different.. I have this real 'thing' for cinnamon at the moment.. don't know why.. but gee it was good

It's funny.. I am really enjoying this re-feed so far and I was saying to hubby last night that other than chocolate I'm not craving or dreaming of any bad foods.. all the foods I'm craving are the more healthy options like different fruits etc... I have to say that feels really good, exciting AND a HUGE relief .. fingers crossed that I keep feeling that way..

Well I'm finally in the 60's ... The little bit I had gone up just before re-feed has finally gone & now I'm 69.8.. I think I've lost the equivelent to a whole kilo since starting re-feed & it's only been a couple of days..

I'm mean to add bread on day 1 but as yet am feeling a bit reluctant too.. day 3 is today.. maybe on day 4 I will.. I dont know.

in the 60's Faithy, how wonderful! And so glad you loved yr pineapple!

As for the bread - i wasnt allowed that until day 10 i think - i never had bread on refeed and beyond UNTIL advised to have burgen with breakfast by gym and that coincided with around the time i started slowly gaining so i have once again ditched the bread! Its a personal thing - i think bread is a villain for me - maybe its the gluten? Looking forward to hearing how it affects you when you have it! Can always start with a half slice?

Dont know about you but i still LOVE my crackers (premium or vitawheat usually) and until i got back into 100% cohens 3 days ago, i had them with the thinest smear of almond, cashew and walnut butter! Heaven on a cracker! Have a great sunday my love and heres a few karma points for you,

Well done on achieving the 60s, Faithy. Remember, this is called a Lifestyle, not a diet. We are meant to eat mainly Cohen food for the rest of our lives, so just as well you're enjoying it.
