Default FRUIT

Hello everyone, today is my first day on Cohen's. So far so good!! Can someone please clarify the fruit servings. I understand what fruits we are allowed to eat but how much should they weigh? today I only ate kiwi fruit because our food plans indicate the weight they should be, but what about oranges, applies, mandarins etc? Can we make a fruit salad and if so, how much should it weigh?? thanks for any help.

If fruit weight is not specified, it should be a medium sized fruit, Nance. There's obviously some variation in what this means, but don't worry too much about that, it's not significant.

You can make a fruit salad. If you used apple, orange, kiwi and mango you would use 1/4 of the apple and the orange, 1/4 of the allowed kiwi weight and 1/4 of the allowed mango weight. You can also divide the fruit across the day. I use half a pawpaw or honeydew allowance in my morning yoghurt and have the other half from another fruit later in the day.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

The world standard is one fruit serve is one cup of whole fruit - and that is a medium size piece of fruit unless specificly stated on your plan.

The average run of the mill piece of fruit....... except for fruits like mangoes which usually weigh more like 300 to 500 grams - then its just a side of a piece of fruit.

Eggs can be the max weight of 80 gram but the average is 70 gram - and I was told that if you get a double yokes - you can still have it !!!!!!! .......but in the 40 odd weeks my chooks never gave me a double yokes !!!! they new I was getting lean so they got mean!!!!!

If it was fruit salad it would be a bit under a cup full by my reckoning.

I used to make up my fruit salad with an apple, an orange, weight of kiwi and weight of honeydew then divide the total weight by 4 for 4 fruit allowances. As a matter of fact I still do
