I'm not 100% sure, but I think it would be the same as the cracker rule as they are listed together in the bible. 2.5 hours apart.

You have to wait between one piece of fruit and the next, OR between serves of crackers.

So...

Fruit -> wait -> Fruit

and

Crackers -> wait -> crackers

BUT NOT

Fruit -> wait -> Crackers!

No as I said in the first line " You have to wait between one piece of fruit and the next, OR between serves of crackers" so for the confused I am saying :

If you eat crackers wait 2.5hrs til more crackers, if you eat fruit wait 2.5 hours til more fruit.

But if you eat fruit by itself you don't have to wait to eat crackers so if you want to split your snacks up you can have fruit at one snack and crackers at the other.

It's 2.5 hours between serves of Fruit.

don't forget, you can divvy the fruit up and have half serves, too, but really once you've had some fruit (whether a whole or half) you really should wait 2.5 hours for more to let your body digest it.

I'm glad that ASY has posted on this, as I was never told about the 2.5hrs between fruits... only for the rice cakes I eat.
Thanks for the heads up on this one, as I have already eaten my Kiwi at 11am and then an Apple at 2pm today (which is ok by this rule) but will often have a piece of fruit with breakfast and then again for a morning snack - so not always leaving the required amount of time.
Hmmm, also just checked my booklet, and no mention of time between fruit there either.
SO GLAD you smart people are here to help !!

My plan never said to wait 2.5 hours between fruit either, just the crispbreads so for my whole journey i wasn't aware of this rule (and whilst i probably did adhere to it unintentionally most of the time i wonder if it slowed my loss down).

I thought in refeed land the time didn't matter when you ate fruit or crackers, except when you should be finished eating by 9pm?

Hey, Determined - did you ever get an answer to you question re: waiting time for new fruits for refeeding?

Since I just introduced a new fruit today - I wasn't sure whether I had to wait 2.5 hours between the last fruit (i.e. apple) but did anyway. However, soon I'd have to eat 2 new fruits in addition to 2 apples - does the 2.5 hour rule still apply?

As well I'm assuming that we still have to wait 2.5 hours between the bread slice and crackers right?

Just sent an email to my consultant on this.

Cheers

Hey LM...

I was told if we wanted to have like fruit salad, it is advisable to break it into 4 mini fruit salads throughout the day, to avoid the sugar high (and I have 4 serves of fruit, so it is basically one serve at a time)... so I have been trying to keep at least 2 hours between serves of fruit, whether it be fruit salad or eaten separately.

Also, just so you know, in my program it states "it is a good idea to only eat one serve at a time"... so it isn't a golden rule, only a suggestion... that's why I just space it out as much as I can

Oh and as for the crackers... I specifically asked my consultant and she said 'no more than 3 at a time'... so in the case of saladas, that it 3 serves of saladas (aka: 6 little squares)... but if that makes no sense to you (or if we use different crackers).... basically we can have the cracker equivalent of a piece of bread at a time (so one slice of bread to me = 6 cracker servings)... which is confusing, seeing as we can technically have 2 slices of bread at a time if you wanted a sandwich (2 pieces of bread)... mmm, anyway, 3 serves of crackers in one go is a lot! Oh and my consultant also said I didn't have to wait 2.5hrs... but you wouldn't really want anymore than 3 serves that soon anyway!

Hope that helps,

xoxo

Thanks lil_doll! You replied quicker than my consultant lol. Sigh... this forum is a god-send. Makes sense to me, I'd still keep the fruits apart as in phase 1 to make sure that my insulin doesn't spike. Happy to hear that we can have 3 crackers now in one go! It's like a reward for doing refeed. hehe..

I had bread for the first time today. It was meh. I am surprised but then again, they don't have good quality bread here. Looking forward to getting to the big city where I can get good quality bread and see how my body responds.
