Default Help- Trying to quit smoking while on Cohen's

I gave up smoking about a year ago and started again about 3 weeks into the diet. I know it was a stupid thing to do and I am cursing myself for it. Smoked happily for about 2 weeks and then realized what a blunder I have done. Now I am tying to quit again for about 3 weeks and its just too difficult this time. I mailed my consultant about it and they say that it will not affect my weight loss as long as I am following the plan. I am just trying and not able to do it this time, I start feeling too deprived.

If anyone has faced anything like this, i would really appreciate any support in this matter..

Hey NSS Well done on making the decision. Personally I would wait to give up and I wouldnt do it while you are on the diet to be honest. I gave up 6 months ago, and I compare my emotions currently on Cohen's the same as what they were giving up smoking...I personally think that giving up the two at the same time (because food is just as much of an addiction as smoking is) is going to play havoc on your mind. There are some great blogs and others going through the same things at www.quitline.co.nz the people on there are so helpful, they are normal people, all blogging, all asking for help, very much like these forums, some are on day 1 of giving up smoking, some are on day 320 giving up smoking.. Anyways just my opinion, I would just wait, juggling two addictions would be a big feat on anyone....

Hi NSS
I am a smoker and have been for 40 years I desperately want to give it up but have decided that i want to be thin more than try and give up smoking now, so i will wait till im thin. Im hoping by then i wont want to eat anything else other than what i am use to eating. I am thinking this year 2012 was my time to lose weight im hoping 2013 is the time to give up smoking. Good luck with what ever you choose.

Cheers
Bev

I know this thread is old but after reading it, I felt like that I should also share my experience. I had been a smoker for 10 years but slowly I realized that it was really harmful for me and my wife encouraged me to quit it. With her support, I began looking for different ways for quitting smoking. Initially, I tried nicotine patches and then gums but they didn't worked. I always ended up smoking after few days. This made me quite depressed and I had given up the thought of quitting smoking. But then my wife found out about quit smoking hypnosis program. We did a proper research on it and found quite good reviews about it. So I decided to give it a try. And luckily, it worked. It REALLY WORKED!! Now, its been 3 years that I haven't smoked and its all because of the hypnosis program.

I tried different methods to quit, but most of them reminded me execution. Nicotine gums and patches were helpless, too. I succeeded only due to vaping and nkd 100 salt , I replaced my emotional and chemical addictions this way.

I quit smoking twice. The second time it was harder, but it helped me that my friends and I went on a trip and no one had cigarettes. Perhaps a change of scenery can help you?
