Default Ellabelle's Refeed Diary

Good Morning All,

Today marks day one on refeed, I get to add bread, a good fruit (mmm... lychees) and a bit of extra protein and veg as well as a couple of extra crispbread. All in all, sounds like it's going to be a good day!

I'll be back in tomorrow to report any changes on the scales.

Day one starting weight: 52.8kg

Welcome to refeed, Ellabelle, and congratulations on getting to this point. Refeed land can be a lonely and empty place, as it take most so long to reach it, then the stay is quite short. However, it's an exciting time.

Day 1

Start Weight 52.8kg
Overnight mov/m -100gm
Current Weight 52.7kg

Changes 1 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

Day one saw a 100g loss which I'm really pleased with, didn't feel bloated after the bread at all (although it didn't do much for me to be honest), had some lychees which were delicious. Nothing too much more to report other than that.

The extra food was nice - didn't feel hungry all day.

Maria, Lili, Hopefull, Vee & Annabelle - Thank you for your support and encouragement! I feel like you guys are family even though I've only "known" you a few short months.

The additional new items and extra quantities of old items must make it exciting to be on refeed! The new taste sensations alone would be exciting!
Yes, funny how things like bread don't do it for us anymore. I was never a fan of bread, so didn't really miss it at all!
Hope day 2 has some more exciting additions to it!

Hi Ellabelle

Woohooo Refeed land. Well done for reaching this magical place. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have (tho I am over the weighing part).

Well done for surviving day 1. How long is yours btw? Mine was 19 days. This being the last day for me so we won't be refeed buddies for very long.

Take care and enjoy all that refeed has to offer.

Katie

Day 2

Start Weight 52.8kg
Overnight mov/m +200gm
Current Weight 52.9kg

Changes 1 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

Day two saw a 200g gain, not too concerned though, hopefully it's just water and will drop back off over the next couple of days.

Adding even more old veg today, but other than that day three is much like day two.

Vee - It is exciting to be on refeed I haven't really had too much time to get creative with my cooking as yet and apart from the bread and fruit, i'm still eating all the same old veg and protein, looking forward to adding in the new stuff when I get there

Katie - Thanks for your post I'm enjoying refeed, my refeed goes for 18 days, so pretty similar to yours. Good to be refeed buddies for a couple of days at least hehe

So glad to see that refeed is going so well, Ellabelle!
What with every day adding a bit more of something, it must be interesting working it all out in advance!

Keep going so well!

That gain will soon be gone, Ellabelle. Enjoy the extra food. I didn't get any extra CBs, just had to cut some out if I had bread.

Day 3

Start Weight 52.8kg
Current Weight 52.7kg
Overnight movement -200gm
Overall Change -100g

Changes 1 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

Had a 200g loss last night taking me to -100g since starting refeed. Enjoying all of the extra food, I'm still getting hungry before meals, my body must know whats going on and be anticipating the extra food lol.

Had some pineapple yesterday and it was yummy! My food hasn't been particularly creative over the last couple of days. I'm planning to have a cook up tomorrow and freeze a few days worth of refeed meals, so I'll try to get a bit more adventurous then.

I was thinking I could make some sort of pineapple fritta thing and have it with my breakfast (along with egg meal one and bread allowance). Will let you know if that works out...

I've taken to having my bread mid morning, figure it has longer to digest the earlier I have it in the day (plus I'm hungry then)... seems to be working without any affects as yet.

Looking forward to tomorrows breakfast, I've taken a liking to grilled tomato and mozerella on crispbread for breakfast on weekends... so darn good!

Hope everyone has a lovely day xox

Vee - It is interesting working it all out in advance - wish I had shares in my local fruit and veg shop at the moment though with the amount I'm buying hehe

AJ - You were right! The gain is gone, yey! I'm enjoying the extra crispbread, they've made the wait between meals more bareable

Yay that the gain is gone and that it took some extra for company!
Yes, I bet the shopping list is rather different than when we are following the program!

Keep enjoying, as it seems to be going really well!

How many extra CBs do you get by the end of refeed, Ellabelle? I had more than most to begin with, so I suppose that's why I didn't get an increase. It won't be long before you will stop feeling hungry between meals. It gets so you feel full all the time.

I found that I had food left over, particularly new good fruit, as you only get them for a short time.

Day 4

Start Weight 52.8kg
Current Weight 52.4kg
Overnight movement -300gm
Overall Change -400g

Changes 2 good fruit, bread, extra protein, extra old veg and extra crispbread

A 300g drop overnight - certainly didn't expect that! Wow!

Still no reaction from bread, however I'm only on one slice a day at the moment so I'll be interested to see if anything changes once I increase to two/three slices per day.

Nothing much happening today - it looks much the same as yesterday

I'm off to a friends wedding today which should be nice, the weather is perfect so I hope it holds up for them. I love weddings *sigh*, it's a bit bizarre though really, three years ago I was engaged to the guy who is marrying my friend today... it's a long story. They are way better suited than we ever were and I'm really, sincerely happy for them still a bit strange to think that it could have been me up there and it will be strange seeing his family at the wedding today after all this time... bizarre!

Ellabelle, you'll probably be fine with three slices of bread. I had no reaction at all to bread, and ate every slice I was allowed, despite previously thinking I was mildly wheat intolerant. Watch out when you first try milk. My consultant suggested it was best to have it first while I was at home, as the first couple of times there can be a reaction.

Hi Ellabelle, congrats on refeeding. Seems like we are sort of refeeding together, mine 18days. Din't get extra crackers, just stick to same old 5 pcs of crackers but start from day 2 if i do eat 1 piece of bread i have to take off 3 pcs of crackers and left 2. Glad that bread don't have effect on u, may be Dr cohens can "see" u can tolerate carbs better thats y u get to increace crackers during refeeding. I'm not as lucky as u, gain 100g after having a piece of bread and feeling bloated and gassy after that, but i still think is worth, cuz i like bread.

Default Bad, bad bad, BAD Weekend

Hi All,

I had a major, major screw up on the weekend. At the wedding on Saturday, I ended up eating at the reception, all three courses + wedding cake. I don't know what possessed me to do it. It was really foolish of me and I have no one to blame but myself. As a result, I spent most of Saturday afternoon/evening in bed feeling sick and most of yesterday in the bathroom - eww. I don't think my body liked the rice/chicken/peanut sauce/potatos/cheesecake/cream/wedding cake/sugared almond combination. yuck!

Anyway, it's my first major screw up since starting Cohens 15 weeks ago and it happened whilst on refeed.. talk about worst timing ever.

I think my desire to 'be like a normal person' and just eat at the reception overtook all common sense and reasoning.

Anyway, long story short, I managed to put on a significant amount of weight as a result so I decided to go back on the normal plan yesterday and I'm starting refeed again today.

I am so ashamed of myself and feel so disgusted at my lack of self control. Mark my words though, this will not be happening again! I've come this far, I'm not copping out now.

So yes, today is now officially day one (again).

I'll report in tomorrow with weights etc - due to being so sick yesterday after all the food on Saturday, I've actually managed to lose the weight I'd put on from the meal... and a bit more.

Weigh in weight this morning was 52.2kg
