Default How do I ..... ?

There seems to be a few "How do I ... ?, Where is ... ?" types question about thenew forum SW we're using.

If you're unsure of something, try the FAQ. It's searchable so enter a keyword and you'll find the answer a lot quicker than it takes a Mod to respond.

The FAQ can be found next to your User CP link in the top menu bar, second from the left.

I hope you find the FAQing enjoyable.

Just wondering how I can attach a file in my diary?

It is a word document but it says it is too big.
How can I make it smaller or can I save it as something else and attach it?

Maximum file size for a DOC attachment is 20,000 bytes (20kb). You could have it as TXT to make it smaller.

This may help as well.

If your .doc is around 65kb with full .doc full formatting try opening the file using wordpad and saving it in .rtf (rich text format) it will retain all the formatting that way. The same file in .rtf is only 16kb in size. If that rtf file is save in a plain text format, all formatting is lost but the file size is on 8kb.

Obviously you can do the maths (approx) based on your original Doc file size to see which way to go. You could also break the file down to manageable parts/sections to different files.

Default Changing Title of Post?

Hi Guys,

Is it still possible to change the title of your post? I used to be able to do it, but not with the new software.
Like I would change the title of my diary as each month passed,
'2 months in', '3 months in' etc. & Losing's Tummy Tuck Diary is stuck on 10 days to go.....???
I know how to edit the post, but not the 'bold' title at the top??

Any suggestions??

I think I have just worked out how to get smileys INTO my mail. thanks for the FAQ's I suppose it is the old story of RTFM.

I changed the thread titles to both and as the Photo thread was only just over 2 pages long I changed all the individual posts headings as well. But in order to do that in your diary it would entail changing around exactly 353 individual posts. or approximately the first 18 pages of your diary. That would take a bit of time.

How do I update my ticker. Have read sundaymorningstaple detailed instructions (most helpful). But nothing happens when I click on my signature. Can anyone help please & ta.

I've been looking and looking and can't find a post anywhere regarding what deviation does to the whole program. I wanted to find this post so that I can give it to another Cohenite who says she cheats all the time and still loses weight.
If I remember right the post said yes, you will lose weight but you will lose weight if you stick to ANY diet. COhen's is differenct because it tackles the hormones and that is why we need to stay on track 100% deviation free. Without the hormone change our body will not keep the weight off and will respond exactly like it did before after we have gone off refeed and maintenance. None of us want to go THERE do we??? Does anyone know where to find that article???
It is one of those "keepers" that we should highlight and printout so that we can refer back to it..........kind of like that "falling off the bus" thread. I have started to print out really good stuff I find now so that I don't 'lose' is forever!! Thanks if you can help. I've tried searching "deviation" but can't seem to find it.
Maybe its not there at all..........thinking maybe it is something the woman at our clinic told us. hmmmmmmmmm

Hi Battler,

When people ask about "what deviation does", I point them to THIS thread:-
asy's thoughts on Deviation...

I don't know that it answers all of what you are looking for, but it is well worth a read, from go to whoa.

If you read between the lines, it does answer a lot of what you are asking. Sorry, I can't recall another thread that is more specifically aimed at deviations and their effect than that one. Hope it helps,
