Support during Cohen's Diet
I have an appointment on the 11th and as far as I know I will probably need to shed 22kg. I am soooo scarded and need support and hear from people who are doing the program, so here's my cry for help. Look forward to hearing from whoever is keen to share. Cheers Crissie |

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
Hi Crissie, Stick around a while, have a good read, and I'm sure you'll see that MANY have started exactly as you have :- Quote:
But you, of course, need to take this on faith, so read a bit more (I'm sure it will help - there are MANY who have initially thought the same as you, but NOW look at them) - the only other way is to just start, and find out for yourself. I'm sure others will stop by to encourage, Crissie - maybe tomorrow, as it's getting late now (in Australia's East Coast at least ) Koh

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
Hi Crissie
Welcome You know, I think being scared is a good thing.. now this may seem strange to a lot of people, but to me it means you are taking this very seriously, you're giving it a lot of thought & you WANT to make a change for yourself. I started this program last year end of April, early May. The first week or 2 I found a bit of a struggle, but for 95% of my journey on this program I have found the food to be 'just enough' for my body & have even found some days I've felt full for a number of hours after I've eaten. Do your research here & have a really good chat with the consultant.. write down any questions you may have BEFORE you go there & hopefully they can answer your questions to your satisfaction. I have to say I SWEAR by this program, it's awesome & the support you get from this forum is just as wonderful. Wishing you every success |

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
I certainly felt just like you when I started, Chrissie. The first week's the most difficult, easier the second, and it just keeps getting easier. Today I went almost 7 hours between meals, with only one snack (rice cracker and half a nectarine) between lunch and dinner, without feeling hungry. I think that part of the reason is all the water we drink, keeps our tummies full. However, it's not that simple. Once you see the weight fall away you'll be convinced that you want to continue. I found that planning how I was going to cope with everything I could think of that might cause me to deviate helped. Read the diaries and look at the photos, it's so motivating! And you will find lots of support and friendship on the forum.
AJ

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
Hey Chrissie
This is the WONDERFUL magical thing about this program - after the first week you WON'T feel hungry...even with the 'small' serves. Your chemical balance that is created and levelling of your insulin will ensure you won't get hungry as long as you don't deviate. I know it sounds too good to be true...but it is true Simple really...the HGH makes our 'fat stores' into the energy we need to fuel our bodies and that is the whole point to the program Yep feeling scared...this is a HUGE lifestyle change and we have all been there, it's fear of success (crazy enough) but fear of failure too. It is a really important skill to be able to identify your feelings...your halfway to that 20 kilos off you already

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
Very difficult question to answer until you have been on the program for a few weeks, Leigh, as we are all different. My consultant says to count on 4 kg a month and anything else is a bonus, and, in my case, it looks like 4 kg a month may be as much as I can expect to lose now, and I never deviate. The average supposedly is 7-10 kg a month, and some manage more than that. The first month is likely to be a much bigger loss than the following months.
Have you started your own diary? Sorry if I've missed it. You can post your questions into that for a start. To start a new thread, make sure you are logged in, from the Home page go to the board where you want to post, e.g. Personal Diaries, and click the New Thread button at the top. Put in your subject and start typing. Look forward to reading your diary AJ

Hi Crissie,
You will be fine . The forum is a great place to seek advice from fellow members. Remember we all started at the same place as you at the begining. But picture yourself during your journey and also a the end. All the best. Leigh

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
Hello everyone
I haven't been here for awhile but I am always thinking about you all I started my program on the 15th March and so far I have lost about 5.4kg. It is not ALL THAT MUCH, but I am feeling good. The thing with me is that I go out a lot for business lunches and I end up eating the old greek salad, which seems one of the easiest things to order. I am not feeling hungry, however my first week was hard with lots of headaches, which I believe is normal. My appointment is this coming Friday and I am not feeling all that 100% about it as I feel that I should have lost more weight. I weigh myself every morning and sometimes I do not seem to have lost any weight. Constipation is a problem, however I am taking that 'diet tea', which seems to have helped me. I have to lose a total of 27.4kg, so I hope I get there. Every time I start something I end up giving up and I do not want to do it this time. Hope you are all well and sorry I don't log in as much. It is hard do it at work (my boss is not in today - hehe and nights are hard as I have a 2-year old. Thank you for your support. Cheers Crissie |

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
Just thought I would cut and paste this liitle bit - here for all - just to help someone !!!!
Not my words - but my thinking and thoughts for all. Andy Your the Power - You're the Maker Wouldn't it be great if someone would take you by the hand and lead you down the road to achievement? Sadly this is not the reality of it. We all have to accept that no one else can do it for us. You're the only one that can live your life so only you can make it happen. Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility for yourself and your destiny. The day you start moving down the road to success is the day you stop making excuses and accept that life will be what you make of it. Success will come your way once you realise that you have to make it come your way.....by your actions. Nothing will ever happen by itself so it's up to you to choose the thoughts and actions that will lead you to achieving your dreams. The power to succeed is yours alone. Get Tough Champ! Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
Hey everyone. I must admit i was alittle worried on how i would go on Cohen's. Even though i was so pumped up to start, i was worried about getting hungry. But i must admit, after the first week to my surprise, the amount of food we are allowed was quiet enough. I found that 3/4's the way through eating my meal i was feeling full. I had to eat it all of course, but i wouldn't feel the need to eat again for at least 5 hours. I had to watch the clock to make sure i ate at the right time as sometimes i wouldnt be ready to eat. Family and friends still cant believe that such little portions make you feel full. But BELIEVE it. It does.
Andy thanks for those powerful words. It reinforces us to really reach down into ourselves and make us aware that YES we can succeed in our new lifestyle journey. Since being in this forum, i have learnt alot more about myself and how i can take contol and believe that i can acheive my dreams. Hugs to all, Rhondles

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
It is hard to believe that those little portions will be enough when you start, Rhondles. Doesn't take long before you wonder how you ever ate so much before

Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
You are so right AJ - suddenly I keep looking at my plate and thinking "Did I weigh right ......... or have I doubled up....... and when I ask my wife she gives me that look .......... I then suddenly see how much I overate previously in my "old life" I also now look at what others are eating when I go out and then think "No wonder you are a bit on the large .....Obese ...side mate.....and usually the one saying they don't know why they have a weight problem!!!! Re: Support during Cohen's Diet
What i did when i first started was i went out and got a smaller bowl and plate. Really pretty ones so it makes you feel good when you are eating off it. And when you have that smaller plate, it looks as though you have heaps on there. I found this good to help trick my brain in thinking i had loads on there.hehehe.
Hugs, Rhondles
