Talking Helloooo!

I thought I'd give myself a week to get settled in then introduce myself, and what a week it's been!!! Cohen Diet where have you been all my life. I've stuggled and struggled with my weight since my early 20's (eeeek 20 years ago). I've never done stupid diets, usually plodding along with WW or similar and never really getting anywhere. I've always wondered "What am I doing wrong?". The answer is nothing. I needed someone to taylor make a diet for me and not the masses...and boy is it working. Unfortunately I'm a daily hopper on the scales - but I'm told if that keeps me motivated then that's fine. I LOVE the food, as long as I'm eating interesting, tasty food I'm happy and I can't wait to have a look through all the receipes people have posted on here too. Have a great day everyone

Hi Louise, thank you for the lovely welcome. I've come to the conclusion that the Cohens Diet has also thrown a little switch in my head. Never once have I even been tempted to sneak a bite of anything that I'm not allowed. The only thing I'm missing is my training. I've cut back to once a week instead of 3 as it is intensive but the coach did have an issue with my weight so it'll all be good in the end

Ferne it sounds like you are now in the "zone"
I know it is strict but that is the payoff. If you deviate you get outside that nice little zone that seems to make following hte diet easier.
The great thing with this plan is that you dont need to exercise - I had trouble with that as well. You will find that as this is a low calorie regime that if you overexercise you may run out of energy or it could trigger your appetite so exercise but dont overdo it, everythough that is the traditional wisdom!
I waited until I was right at the end of my weight loss and then the exercise is great for shaping and toning etc.

Hi Ferne, welcome! What an amazing loss for your first week, fantastic! I'm finishing my first week today and loving it! Like you, nothing has ever really clicked with me like this eating plan has, it's amazing! I usually go to gym 2-3 days a week too, and one of those is with a personal trainer, but I've told her what I'm doing and she is very supportive. I haven't had to cut it back yet, but I'll see how I go and if it effects my hunger then I'll cut back.

All the best, I'll look forward to watching your progress!

Hi Michelle, yep to say I'm over the moon with my first week and a half is an understatement. I'm sure the first week is probably the biggest weight loss but I'm just loving the cooking and making tasty things to eat, it really is such a great diet. I'm trying not to eat the same things, but I do have my favourites. When I go for my four week weigh in I'm going to invest in the proper curry powder they sell at the centre as I love my spicy food. How's your week been on the diet?

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

Yummo - I can't wait. I did try to make my own Cohen friendly curry powder last night which wasn't too bad. I just need something with a bit of umph in it . I'm just loving the receipes in the book too. Things seem to have slowed down a bit this week but I guess it would be a pure miracle to expect to lose 4 - 5 kilos each week. To be honest it's not even like being on a diet is it !!

Welcome Ferne, you are doing sooo well. Keep it up. It does slow down a little, but the kgs just disappear compared to other diets. Drink your water and we look forward to your progress. You obviously are a computor expert.

Hi Barb, I'm soooo happy with this diet - in fact it's not even like a diet is it LOL!!! I love cooking and the receipe book is my bible It certainly is working for me after years (far to many) of struggling with what I now call "mass diets". Yes they work for lots and lots of people but if your system is all out of balance, like ours, then they fail and through no fault of theirs or ours. Unfortunately I am guilty of being a daily scale hopper, but it keeps me positive. Seeing the weigh drop is fabulous but I'm just loving seeing my BMI drop. I have to get to 30 by 3rd week of March as I'm having an op in May and have to get to 30 and below or the surgeon won't operate. Have a great day everyone
