Default Make up: Covering Rosea with a Good Foundation.

A customer of mine's Mother is a rep for a multi-national cosmetics company

It is her job to clean and restock the shelves, remove any rumpled packets or discontinued lines and generally make her shelf areas as attractive and efficient as possible

She recently sent me some samples, testers and random left over bits and pieces. One of the products was a foundation pack with like a little mini-paint-roller thingy.

The colour was a bit to the olive, too dark for me so I have it to a friend. This friend suffers from Rosea and the flush of her skin is so strong that her nose is often quite a deep blue. To conceal this she wears very strong makeup and can sometimes look a bit theatrical

To my amazement, this paint roller thingy foundation completely covers the rosea and yet she looks as if she is not wearing any make up at all!

So I wrote to my benefactor and asked if this was a promotional product or is this foundation part of the regular range. Yes, apparently it has been around for years and the paint roller thingy was a bit of a gimmick but the product is the same.

I'm not going to name the product - this thread is about the rosea or the acne scars or the freckles or any of the other really prominent discolouration we can suffer from and not really know how to deal with it

It just really impressed me how completely different my friend looks with the right make up

Have you got any particular skin problems you need to choose particular products for? Has losing the weight encouraged you to explore different types of cosmetic products so that you can achieve a different / better / fresher result?

As you weight has dropped, are you as flushed looking as you used to be (if you were)? Has this meant that the old make up products and colours now look like you've borrowed someone else's make up?

Would you buy a paint roller thingy make up to try it or would you just continue with the products you have always used?

Hi Kristine

I'm always looking for new and improved products and gadgets to conceal my pigmentation marks, and would love to know the brand of the thingy you're talking about - we might just have it (or something similar) here in SA.

Rosea or rosacea? Its pretty difficult to cover this up. While I was browsing on Youtube, I found several videos which actually teach you how to do it and what to use. You might want to check those out Not2Much.
