Default Tuti's Refeed Diary

Hi All,

I have decided to start refeed tomorrow. I have not been hungry anymore than usual but I am getting close to the bottom end of the Cohen's range for me which is 56kg.

I am planning to have pineapple tomorrow as my good fruit and I bought some Burgen Rye for bread which I can have on day 2.

I am so lucky that a few people have started refeed already. I have really got alot out of their posts.

cheers

Tuti

Hey Tuti,

You are here!!! How fantastic. You are going to love refeed. You will most likely have some questions if you didn't already see the answers to them on all our refeed diary's...it does get a bit confusing...but it's amazing. I am still so shocked when I get on the scale in the morning and I haven't gained a ton of weight.

YEAH!!!

Day 1 - I spread my extra old vegies and old protein over three meals today. I also had some pineapple this afternoon as my extra fruit. I have felt a bit funny in the stomach ever since. I have also had a headache this afternoon and have felt hungry today. So maybe the hunger was on the verge of kicking in.

I feel like I am getting TOM even though it is a bit early. Was early last month too so that could explain the headache.

Cannot wait to have toast with my egg tomorrow

Cheers

Tuti

Day 2 - Really enjoyed my egg & vegies with toast this morning but paid for it the rest of the day with stomach pains and two very quick visits to the loo

I will give the bread a miss tomorrow and have yoghurt and blueberries tomorrow morning.

I had some pineapple again this afternoon and it seems to be okay no real tummy aches from that.

Headache was due to TOM. My weight was the same this morning 56.9kg.

Cheers

Tuti

Hi Tuti

on maintenance, we're not supposed to have toast for breakfast, as a matter of fact no carbs at all if you can avoid it. This is why I assume that is also true for re-feed, although it doesn't say so specifically. I'd check with consultant.

Hi Katrin - I know it says avoid carbs during breakfast on maintence as well as trying to limit fruit to once a day...it seems while on refeed there is no rule about avoiding bread for breakfast and we are allowed 4 pieces of fruit during refeed too. So it seems that the rules are quite different during refeed than they are during maintence...I think its about shocking the body into dealing with various situations...

Tuti - seems like a bit of a day for you I have also heard that pineapple has reacted badly for some people including headaches

It's interesting how many seem to have reactions to the reintroduction of bread, Tuti.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

I actually mentioned that I was going to have the bread as toast with my egg in the morning to my consultant. She said that was a good idea. However, I think I will have it later in the day when I try bread next time.

Aj It tastes great when your eating it but not long afterwards the pains started. I thought I might not have much of a reaction to introducing new food because I have been on the diet for only a short period of time but there you go.

Hi Tuti,
I reacted the same way with the bread, something different in your tummy I think, gave it a rest for a day then tried it again and I was fine! Same with a banana, except for it making me hungry if I didn't have it before or after a meal.

I hope you like the Yummo Parma!
It feels like a "deviation" because it is so nice

Have a great day

Hey Tuti,

You are doing great. I haven't seemed to have a bad reaction to any of the foods. I have just been struggling with the larger quantities. I have managed to work it out so I can fit it all in though.

Seems like you are figuring it all out day by day.

Keep up the good work.

Day3 - Had my good fruit with breakfast - yoghurt and blueberries(yum) - and added my old protein and old vegies to lunch and dinner.

I didn't have the bread today. Must admit I missed my crispbreads yesterday as I could only have two. I like to crumb my chicken with one of them.

No weight change today either.

I have felt like crap today. Headache all day and feeling tired. This is the first day I have felt like this since starting Cohens. A lot of people are sick around here so maybe I'm coming down with something.

On a brighter note I bought a pair of Size 9 jeans today Nothing like retail therapy to make you feel better

I think I have become like the other refeeders - addicted to shopping!

Cheers

What's worse Tuti -- being addicted to food and ruining our health, or being addicted to shopping and ruining our budgets?

Day 4 - Today was pretty much the same as yesterday. Had blueberries with my yoghurt and added the extra protein and vegies to my other two meals. Didn't have bread today but will have it again tomorrow and see how I go.

I can also add another good fruit tomorrow. I really only like the blueberries, blackberries and pineapple from the list but I have decided to try some rockmelon. I have never really liked any type of melons but I might make a fruit salad to mix it up a bit.

Starting to feel a lot better this afternoon.

AJ - Hmmm that's a tough one I think I might have to curb the spending a bit now. There's the next seasons clothes to start thinking about!

cheers

Tuti
