Any tips for managing conferences??
I am off to a conference this week. They are usually giant foodfests with not a lot of healthy options! Four plane trips and three days at the conference. I have listed my dietary requirements as gluten free and rice free. Any other tips? We are doing well. I have lost 5 kgs in six weeks and my partner has lost 7.5. I made a ticker but must have missed a step along the way!! Kate |

Re: Any tips for managing conferences??
Hi Kate, conferences can be a real challenge! I spend half my life on the road and lost my weight eating in reataurants half the time but really plane travel and conference are 2 of the hardest places to eat corrently while on this program. bout the only cohen friendly things you can get on planes without putting ina special request are water and apples. Conferences are hit and miss unless you put in a request or bring your own food. I take my own crackers for morning and afternoon tea with my black coffee. If lunch is a buffet you can often get a bit of meat and salad if you pick your way through but rolls and sandwiches are often the only options and then there is really nothing suitable. My suggestion is if you really want to stay on track put in your special request or take your own food or you will probably find you stall that week. Restaurants are easy compared to planes and conference - Good luck, Im off to a conference myself nest weel so I feel for you!

Re: Any tips for managing conferences??
Thanks for your help Louise.
Taking my own fruit and crackers is a good idea. I'll see what they provide for lunch on the first day but take my little esky lunchbox so I can take my own lunch as well on subsequent days if I need to. I had planned to pack my own food for the plane so I guess I can extend to the conference. I really want to stay on track with this. I'm sure lots of others have navigated this bit before. Thanks again Kate |

Re: Any tips for managing conferences??
It is a difficulty for many of us - you have reminded me I have to plan for my own conference, fortuneately some days I am only there half the day so I can eat elsewhere!
Good luck |
