Default Which DVD's do you have at home?

Well, my kids and I collect movies. Lots of movies. We have quite a few bookshelves full...

And, we share with my brother-in-law and cousin-in-law...

But we sometimes double up on what we have coz there's lots, so...

I went looking and found this fantastic software:ALL MY MOVIES

It's amazing! You can catalogue all your movies, and it links in to the IMDB automatically, so you don't even have to fill in all the details, just look for the right movie and volois, you're done!

Also, there's a partner product that lets you catalogue all your books!

And, you can list where they're located in your bookshelves, and even keep track of whom you lend them to!

I think the company that makes these only has about 4 products, but they're all really cool. The other two are a great photography tool (Irene, have a look and let me know what you think) that compares all your photos in your photo files and tells you when you have duplicates, or very similar photos so you can reduce your files.

The other thing is a software key database where you can keep all your software keys and data so if you have to rebuild your computer you have all your info. (of course you'll have to back-up off computer).

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about getting my movie database running properly and knowing what I have. Also excited about being able to choose a movie off the database rather than standing staring at bookshelves!

Would be interested to hear what you think of the software.

I've been test driving the ALL MY BOOKS programme this week, too.

It's really cool, I'm making a big list of all my books, just wish I could find them all.

Has anyone had a looksee at the DVD one? What did you think?

I am having a pool party for a Blue light on the last weekend of November - what is a good movie for children aged 5 to 15 that has a good story for a party type feel ????

Default Gotta be High School Musical!

My 5 year old daughter is High School Musical mad! We just went to her friends High School Musical "pool" party last week and they played games in the pool with the soundtracks playing! The ball games were a particular hit! The balloons and overall theme was red & white. Great fun for both boys and girls!

hehe Thanks Asy,

I have been managing our DVD's in excel, but we have over 1200 now and it was getting painful.

Downloaded and trying the software - very cool so far.

bloody hell! 1200!!!

I've JUST now finished a three day marathon and we have 340!

Did you notice under the 'tools' section, you can import from excel!?

It's really cool.

The only thing I don't like is having to try to work out which version it is, but I've emailed the software developer and suggested he have a function where you can enter the IMDB url and it autopopulates the movie. Will be interesting if he's able to do that!

Let me know what you think when you migrate your list.

hehehe we gave up smoking 5 years ago, every time we would have spent $30 in smokes we bought a DVD. Now 5 years later we have run out of DVD's to buy and own 1200 plus around 15 boxed sets LOL

Just shows you how much money is wasted on smokes LOL

Kung Fu Panda is an excellent movie Andy, I think the young ones and older kids alike would enjoy it.

Connie I could leave a dvd big screen thing going full time at the school !!!!!!!!! ........when do you get the time to sit and watch them ........ my garden would never grow .....

Will try and get Kung Fu Panda - but don't want the kids going mad kicking each other after watching it !!!!!

I also reckon the other ones -Ice Age 1 & 2 are pretty good as well.

Hi Asy

I just had a quick look at that program - looks interesting but I'm so loath to get rid of any of my pictures - I just keep getting bigger hard drives heehee.

I do try to be ruthless about delete similar photos so the ones I do keep I keep for a reason (just haven't worked that reason out yet!!).

Anyway, it looks like a handy program to have.

Cheers
Irene

It seemed that Happy Feet transcended many age groups and as well there is a good sound track in that movie
