2nd time around...this time from China not Australia
This is my 2nd time doing Cohens, the first time was back in 2009 and I lost 44kgs...I managed to keep my weight under control (within 2-5kg) of what Dr Cohen suggested...but then for the past 2 years we have been teaching English in China and needless to say it hasn't been the easiest country to maintain a good eating regime....I know that sounds strange when every person around is tiny as and they eat rice and steamed bread like its going out of fashion....we still can't work out how they can stay so slim but they do and us foreigners get bigger and bigger.... PART TWO OF MY STORY Luckily I have just found that I can do Cohen thru 1st personal diet so today is Day 3 for me and all is going well....it will be different for me this time as I can't get the same crackers and variety of food here....no soft drinks, yoghurt or cottage cheese that fit the required food allowances and the ingredients in the spices are all in Chinese so a very bland first month then we are heading home for 10 days so I will stock up on what I need....this time I have 11 kgs to lose...not as daunting as 44kg last time...the great thing is I know this diet works and I love the "zone" and someone telling exactly what MY body needs to lose weight.... Thanks again for this forum Asy and Koh you guys are great and I was thrilled to see the forum still as strong as ever I will keep u updated in my journey and drop by your diaries for help and inspiration Cheers guys Di Last edited by Di2013; 23-01-2013 at 01:10. |

Hi ciors and hayles, thanks for dropping by....Ciors it is provinh to be a challenge regarding availablity of food here especially dairy...nothing is fresh, natural or low fat....so its bland land for the next few weeks till we head home for ten days...i will be stocking up on spices amd crackers thats for sure...
Hayles...best of everything...im sure the second time is going to be a dream run for us both... |

Hey Hayles...it's going pretty well, I, feeling rather moody the past few days can't seem to shake it...my poor husband as usual is coping the brunt of it as I work with under 5s teaching here in china so as much as possible I try to always be cheery with them....it's been a tricky week mood wise....I don't remember it happening last time..
How are things with u... I noticed your ticker great job for week one.... Happy losing Hayles Cheers Di |

Thanks Di. I was happy. Looks like your weight is going well too. Not sure about the moods. Maybe try and find some things you love to do to lift your mood. A long bath, a nice piece of music, a pedicure. Whatever gives you joy. Hopefully the moods will improve. Maybe it's the bland food bringing you down. Good luck this week.

Re: 2nd time around...this time from China not Australia
Hi Hayles,
How has your week been? I only lost a kilo, but I know more cm which is what really matters as that is what we see on the outside hey... My mood improved thankfully....may have been all too much with the balancing of hormones and then TOM but once they arrived I did feel a shift in my mood....I normally get edgy around that time, so I'm fully aware of what NORMALLY happens to me mood wise but this recent downer was pretty bad....I'm not a victim to stuff, I believe in expressing myself in the best possible and positive way and getting on with life, no matter what but last week was a shocker....no pulling out of that one....anyhow much better now and as we lead into Chinese New Year this coming weekend we are on holidays here in china from Thursday for a couple of weeks...yee has....we are heading home for ten days to spend my mums 80th birthday with her... Till next time Di |

Hi Di,
Your Diary is Approved..... It looks like THIS might be your Diary, yes?? I'm happy to move it into Personal Diaries, but you haven't visited in a while, so I wanted to know you are still around before moving it. Lemme know, hey? Koh

Just a big happy hushpuppy I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed... And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !! |
