Default Lemon Detox Diet

Has anyone tried the Lemon Detox Diet? I was watching ACA last night and saw the amazing results. Just curious.

Hmmm... Never actually tried it, but I was just reading up about it a bit... Funny how all the good side-effects they talk about come through Cohens and it's done with food...

yes I tried it some time ago now and it is a very unique taste... not something to stick with for long as I cringed to get through the daily quantity.....and no real weight loss....

UGH !!!
If you're talking about the Madal Bal Lemon detox diet... then I wouldn't do it...
I tried it for a day - drank a concoction of lemon juice, hot paprika, the syrup you buy, and 2 litres of water... and spent one whole evening throwing up everything I think I had ever eaten...
This did not agree with me at all (obviously), but perhaps I had a lot of de-toxing to do! But, having said that, my sister does it once per year, and swears by it...

Thumbs down Two timer of Lemon detox

hi,
I have done this detox diet twice. Once last year for 5 days, and again this year for 5 as well. Felt terrible for the first couple of days both times but then came good. You have to plan your days around the toilet tho, which is just yuk.....
It was ok, but no real lasting improvement in tummy issues.
it is amazing how much we store in our bodies tho....Yuk Yuk Yuk.

I have never been a fan of the shake/drink diet so I havent tried it. I have known a few people to start but then stop after a few days. I decided to stop trying the quick fix plan after trying Xenical on recomendation from my doctor. He must have hated me. I have never been so disgusted by what my body produces in my life!!

If you dont know Xenical it basically separates any fat that you consume from food. You then pass this fat as oil in a BM and not always a planned BM.

DONT TRY IT!!!

Default Other diets

It always intrigues me that we get on this site and encourage each other to stick to this program 100% and talk about how good it is and yet want to know about other diets and if they work or not. Wouldn't is make more sense to just stick with what we know works?

Hi - thought I would add in my comments on the lemon thing.

I have done this and I generally do it once a year (minimum). Anyone reading my diary may be surprised at this, as I clearly state there that I have not done any organised dieting prior to starting on Cohens. I personally do not see or do the Lemon thing as a diet - I do it as a detox. It actually started when i lived in Asia. I used to go twice a year to a fasting/cleansing spa to fully detox the system. At times, when I couldnt make it due to work commitments I would do it at home using the Lemon Detox syrup. (caveat - yes, i know that it wasnt the same as fasting detox at the spa, but near enough).

So anyway, I cant really comment on the Lemon Detox as a method of losing weight, apart from the fact that i did do a session of this just prior to starting Cohens and (as I had all the weighing equipment bought, ready to start Cohens) I did weigh myself this time and I ended up losing around 7kg over 10 days. That seems like a lot!!!!! But it IS 10 days of eating nothing!!!

I will stress though, that I think that its only meant for SHORT TERM use to detox and NOT as a long term solution to weight loss. I am pretty sure that any weight that I lost in the 7-10 days that I would be on this under normal circumstances, I would put right back on as I would go back to my usual (fairly toxic) intake post the detox. When I did this before Cohens, the weight did stay off - but this is clearly due to the current Cohens program, and not the lemon detox "diet".

It does make you feel lousy in the first few days but this is the toxins in your body being released, I always feel fantastic at the end of it. And I have been thinking of late whether I would continue to do this fasting or Lemon detoxing once I have finished Cohens. Given the fact that its about detoxing then I would like to continue doing it... however, not sure how it would affect the "balance" that the Cohens program aims to achieve. Once you are on the Cohens program post maintenance, would a detox session be detrimental??

JJ - when you finish your plan and reach your goal weight then start on maintenance it will be fine and most likley beneficial if needed to do a lemon detox.

You are actually doing that any way now on Cohens - you do consume water and you stop eating processed food - and all the toxins that accumulate in your body are stored in your fat - so as you loose the fat so does your body loose toxins - but 7 days is not enough - but with Cohens you loose it all over number of weeks and as you do you restore your body more and more back to what it should be - so in the long run after you are back to normal weight you should not have to detox if you do not add foods that have had poisons added to them during the processing stage - so the more natural and unprocessed food you eat - the better off you are.

Andy - thanks for that. I had actually thought that the Cohens is also a detox as well as a diet - When I used to do the fasting it really was a quick fix solution rather than an ongoing thing - while I know that it didnt get to grips with the full detox it did make me feel - and look - better...

Anyways, now I am in for the long haul with Cohens ... but its good to know that i would still be able to detox like I used to. I think that I will continue it. I really like doing the detox (sucker for punishment I guess).

JJ - When you get to goal weight like me - the world changes considerably - very fast and you will be so fit that you will be unable to go seven days with out good healthy food - you just wait and see - your going to get better and better - as you get lower and lower -------- you goal is where you will be so soon and then its go go go ......full steam ahead !!!!
