Unhappy New Mum ready to loose this weight

Hi there, well I'm only on day 1.... but it has taken alot to get to this point & I'm really excited about the future now that I have started this journey.

My story is I had my first bub 7 months ago and put on 28 kilos and although I lost 12 kilos after bub was born the rest has stayed on and I'm not enjoying life like I should due to this extra weight

My little boy has severe reflux so we have spent alot of time house bound for the last 5 months of his life, but now he is a much happier baby and it's time for me to do something for myself so that I can be a happier and healthier Mum

So finally two weeks ago I discovered I no longer could fit into alot of those clothes I bought post bub and decided I needed to do something positive for mself and here I am. It is wonderful to read about everyone elses success stories and I can't wait to be in the same boat. I just want to be happy again and for me that means losing this extra weight. Would love to hear some motivating stories from other Mums.

Hi Zodie

Congrats on making the best decision of your life. I have not looked back since starting 35 days ago. I can no believe how fast it has gone. I have even managed to reach my first goal during this time. Sure we have to be organised but I believe it is worth it.

Looking forward to following your journey - and remember we are not alone here

Hey Zodie and welcome!

I am a Mum too and understand what you mean about the baby weight actually becoming 'extra'! Lucky you decided to do something about it now - I waited 3 years!!

Here are some tips which may help make your journey a bit easier:

Hope you enjoy the forum and your Cohens journey

Hi Zodie,
Welcome to the "support" group... It is a place to chat, whinge, kick yourself but most importantly lose that unwanted weight. I understand about the baby weight, but at least you are doing it within 12 months, I waited 6 years!!! But not all of it baby weight, if you know what I mean.
Anyhoo, once again welcome, and post anything you wish, no one judges, just encourages...

Hi Zodie,

Welcome to the hot spot of cohen's. I am a mother of 4 and I had my last 8 months ago, a little boy too, funnily enough My bub's name is Cohen too..

I have a bit more to lose than you but I can totally understand the feeling of failure in yourself for putting on so much weight and not being able to get it off.

Good on you for chosing to do this for yourself, motherhood takes so much from you that the only way to stay sane is to take time for yourself every now and then.

Best of luck, not that you will need alot of it.

You just keep on dreaming, Z - 'cos, you are "making it happen", right here, right now !! And, don't you doubt that for a minute !!

Sounds to me like Cohens is working, as it does when people work it !! Just keep on "working it", Zodie, and you'll be another beneficiary of all the goodness that follows.... There are MANY good times yet to follow,

And me? I'm a tall skinny bloke (BMI ~23) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!
