Default Loose Skin

OK this is a question that has been bugging me and I can't seem to find any posts about it.

I am one of the people with a massive amount to lose and at present am starting to get some very loose skin.

So far it is my neck, under my arms, and the inside of my legs. But I am expecting my belly will start to look strange soon. Also the skin on my hands looks very loose as well.

Looking to find out if people have any tips or recommendations about reducing the impact of this.

So far I am using rosehip oil on my neck, and I have brought the Palmers cocoa butter cream for the rest of me, but not seeing much change or improvement with its use, and I'm not fond of the texture after I apply.

So I welcome any advice people may have! I realise this might be considered the ugly side of the big weight losses, but if there are some good tips then it helps everyone.

Shazza,

try searching on skin in here ... theres a million posts LOL

I was one who has had surgery to remove excess skin from my stomach (three caesarians and a loss of feeling for the last 15 years were the main factors, not the diet) plus the fact I had lost a lot of weight before joining Cohens and my skin was already loose and floppy there. But everywhere else on my body has pretty much shrunk back to normal - amazes my mother in law no end. its been almost a year and I still get nice suprises sometimes when i notice another bit has firmed up. You need to allow time for the skin to shrink. Age, genetic background, skin condition and many other factors all contribute to how fast and how much shrinkage you will get.

many ppl like Bio Oil ( I have had success with it) Shell liked coconut oil, check her maintenance diary. hexi I think used palmers ... and there are many others with advice on here.

I used palmers for a little while...but nothing really.

I lost nearly 60kg in total from heaviest and did have floppy skin for a while, it takes a lot of time for skin to catch up. All my loose skin has GONE, that has taken 12 months. My stomach is loose but like Connie I had 2 caesars

Hexi,

Thanks for your post - at the momment my bum needs an iron! Under the arms needs weights and my tummy is a bit loose.

Am I complaining - absolutely not!

Would rather be soft and a bit flabby and thin -than fat and tight any day.

I am loving my body!

Thanks everyone for your posts.

Am starting to have faith that the skin will shrink after your posts. Initially I just couldn't get my head around that when I get to goal, I will have lost over 80kgs and how would my skin possibly cope with such a large loss. But time is a healer, and for the 40kgs I've lost so far, I have had plenty of shrinkage, but the areas with the largest and most obvious losses are where the loose skin is.

My hubby is calling my legs the Saggy Baggy Elephant legs at the moment because of all the lovely creases! Of course he is saying that in a loving way not a mean way (he is a bit excited and fascinated by my smaller body at the moment - no complaints here)

So might look into the Bio Oil in any case given I don't like the texture of the Palmers stuff. Also need to have the time to put it on - I keep forgetting to do the rosehip oil on my neck

Hope this thread can help others with the skin question!

Hi Shazza, this is a good thread. Thanks for asking about loose skin. I have lost 22 kilo and finding I have loose skin and wondered if the skin will shrink. I guess it does take some time, and when I get to goal I will be doing some toning exercises.
