Starting again
I have stated the programme again after gaining my weight back after my the birth of my second child. I have had a successful 2 months so far losing 12 kgs approx. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding, but since then last week, i have had a a shocking time getting back on the straight and narrow....and suggestions? I am very annoyed. I have had a stressful week, and the combination has been terrible for me staying on track. I have about 25g more to loose, and I cant see the end in sight which gets me so down! I have done it before and lost 37kg, but this time it seems so much harder!! Any advice? Last edited by kjf; 03-04-2010 at 21:50. |

Re: Startig again
What I think we would all say is only in the 'tough love' category....you have to do this 100% with no deviations to give your body a chance to find it's sweet spot and do its thing. If you deviate it will take you a while to get back onto it but the quickest way to do that is to stick to it without deviations and go through the pain of detox again.
Another thing is to make a list of why you want to lose this weight....really and truly be honest with yourself. I also find being on here every daay and getting to know the others is incredible support and we are always waiting for more to join us and here to cheer you on.... You can do it. Well done on the 12 kgs already. So good...if you pick it up in earnest before you know it you will have lost that 25! Look at how much i have to lose and be encouraged - |

Re: Startig again
Hi kjf
I agree with Shuki. You have to commit to this long term, not for short term goals. You are a Mum, so perhaps some goals centred around your kids and being healthy for them will inspire you? But it has to be something that speaks to you. I have noticed the people who are successful here tend to be the ones who have a diary and regularly post how they are feeling - it's a journal of honesty not judgment. It's harder to deviate if you know you are going to fess up to it. So my suggestion is to start a diary and share the struggles you are having - we will all help you as best we can as you get yourself into the Zone so you can enjoy this journey the easy way. jlou |

Im back relosing weight I have put on so I can relate. I have made a few false starts but now just want to do this as quickly as possible. One thing I know is that your head has to be in the right place and your really have to want to do it and wow you are already down 12kgs thats fantastic- whatever your doing seems to be working well - keep it up!

Re: Startig again
Thanks guys, what have you found the best when having to go out. We have a few work functions going on. I find if i am stressed out in any way I loose track in some way, even not eating enough. So nice to hear other are out there going through this also!! I am going to dig out the old photos of me at my goal last time and stick them on the fridge. Will look at the diary idea too!

Re: Startig again
Mostly I cope with functions as long as there is a meal. As the meals are bigger than we are supposed to have you can always pick what you are allowed and leave the rest. The functions that are usually a definite no no are the finger food ones, usually all fried food, though somtimes I can managed some meat on a stick. With these its probably best to eat before hand and just circulate and chat so noone notices your not eating!
Good luck Louise |

Re: Startig again
I like you have had my second child and am trying to get the weight off again for the 3rd time. My motivation is that I have a 4 year old that now understand the concept of dieting which is something I never wanted to happen. I have two girls and dieting is something that I don't beleive they need to understand while they are young.
Good luck with your journey. I too have recently fallen off track, but you just pick yourself up and get on with it. Remembering that cohen's isn't just a diet for us all to be successful we need to change the way we eat for the rest of our lives. Bern |

Re: Startig again
As far as functions go my advise would be to take your own food. I have just done my hubby's birthday, work dinner, eating out at friend's places and tonight a wedding all that way. We have to be serious about what we are doing and I guess I figure if i had a disease that meant I got poisened when i ate food i was not allowed I certainly would be taking my own.

Re: Starting again
Thanks for the support and advise everyone! I am 3 days back on track. I know it sounds like not much, but for some of us we know it can be really hard! I find my triggers are when i am busy and stressed out and I think one dieviation wont mind. I am too scared to get ont the scales as I know i wil be disappointed with a gain, so I have decieded to wait unitl my clothes show it then suprise myslef!!

Re: Starting again
Hi kjf,
Wow we are in the same boat so I can relate, I just had my 3rd child, she is 9 weeks old today . I lost 30kg on Cohens back in late 2008 and put it all back on again with this pregnancy, I've lost 14kg on my own so far and now am back on Cohens to lose the other 16kg. This is day 3 for me as well and same as you have had a few false starts, we can do this!! As someone else said the most important thing is to have your head in the right place, just think how much do you REALLY want this and stick to it no matter what. Good luck. Suzie |

Re: Starting again
Hi KJF,
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are getting yourself on track so congratulations. I am sure those clothes will soon be feeling looser. Would you like this to be your diary. You can let me know if you want me to move it to the diary section and what you would like to call this thread. KJF's Diary? Your call. Hope you are finding this forum supportive on your journey. There is a lot of valuable info in here so pull up a comfy chair, pot of tea and browse away. Enjoy the journey, Shanara
