Losing from certain areas and not others....
Was just wondering if any others out there have had the following happen - I have just finished week 6 and have lost 12.7 kg which I'm very pleased about. However, I have noticed and the measurements confirm this - I haven't lost any weight from my arms in 3 or 4 weeks. Everywhere else seems to be slowly diminishing, however my measurements for my arms haven't budged since week 3. Does anyone know why this might be happening?????

Some parts just take longer to lose. Ask me about it.
My lower body kept losing at a faster rate than my arms. It takes slightly longer time to lose my arms but they are definitely smaller than before.

Yeah I noticed this happening to me just this past weekend. I had ALSO just completed Week 3.
My arms had grown .5cm, my bust shrank 1cm but the rest of me just stayed the same.. It has actually got me down a bit this week, I'm not my usual "happy go lucky" self.. atm. *sigh* Hopefully I'll see a change at this weekends weigh-in.. anyway.. ~*zojoho*~ |

One thing to keep in mind is that unless we actually draw a line on the body it is difficult to be exact on where we are measuring each week.
Another thing I found is that sometimes when I measured it was like the fat was moving around and sometimes that almost seemed like it was moving downwards in my body - it seemed to shed from the top down. So sometimes my, in particular, lower measurements would go up a bit. Really, if that gets you down then work on your head stuff and your attachment to that. If you don't your head can really do you in big time. Think of other factors as well: How are my clothes feeling on me? How do I feel in general? Look at before photos? Read back through diary. What is real here and what is my feelings or thoughts about what is happening? Are they based on facts? How can I work with them to be more whole in myself? Don't weigh or measure often if it is going to do your head in. If it is going to motivate then go right ahead. Remember your body is undergoing big changes and needs time to integrate. Shanara

Thank you all for your replies. It's comforting to hear that others are going through the same thing. I'm generally really pleased with how it is going, it was just something that had crept into my mind over the last couple of weeks (and particularly as I'm in the process of buying some new clothes - I tried on some dresses and the top fits but the bottom is too big or the bottom fits and the top too small!). I'm sure they'll catch up in their own time, it's just a little odd looking at the moment!
Will keep trucking on with my fingers crossed.

I went 3 weeks without budging but my weight was dropping. It must have been coming off places where we don't measure!! Just DO IT and don't be discouraged..........it WILL come off!! I am in week 12 and think that I have only lost 2 cm off my upper arm in all that time. Maybe I am just a bit weird.......who knows!

I have just started Week 2, and when I measured, I had lost nothing off my arms...so it may be one of the last places the cms go from...
I was thinking, that if we are losing fat, and can't find the cms lost on the outside, it must be coming off in other places and off our organs like the heart, kidneys, liver etc - as these do store fat when we put on weight. Just my thoughts...
