Default help....no weight loss

Hi everyone,

I am in need of some support as I am on the verge of a meltdown....

My scales have not moved for the last 5 days....actually yesterday I had gained 200g.....how can this be right when i have stuck to the program 100%?????

I am starting to get a little disheartened, thinking I am doing EVERYTHING i am supposed to, and it is not showing.....then the thoughts of "why am I busting my behind to do this if its not working??"

I know that others may have been down this road, but after a good start it has just stopped.....

Please if anyone has any tips to make these scales move I am desperate to know....

Thanks.

My NYF Diary
Default Re: help....

Hi Beslimsoon!

You and I are on the same boat! For my first month, I lost 9.7kg (with an average daily loss of 300g!). And on my 5th week -- ZERO (or almost -- maybe lost total of 300 g, and just like you, some days were acutally gains!). Wow, that was a bummer. And I picked up my tape measure, and same thing -- minimal inch loss. I was going through my booklet almost daily trying to figure out if I had unintentional deviations, but I was on plan 100%! I just shook it off, and kept on going. I tried to mix up my meals a bit and started using different proteins (like used more seafood, and used cheese for the first time on program!).

Now as I start my week 6, I am having huge losses (500g per day for the last couple of days -- hope I dont jinx it now hehehe)! Dont worry, beslim, it will happen. You and I both know the program works! Just read through the diaries here and you will see proof. But how quickly the program works is beyond our control. Thats up to our bodies. Have faith, keep your chin up high, and you will BE SLIM SOON!

Hugs,
MM

Do a search (top right of these pages) by scales not moving or something to that effect, you will find sooooo many threads about it! I was like that for the past 3 days, it is normal by the sounds of things!

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts. I am just on a bit of downer, weeks 6 finishes Sunday, so I guess i have a bit of time to make it up. Its just hard when you are putting everything into it and not seeing anything....BUT, i will NOT deviate, and i will keep waiting for that big drop that has to be on its way.

And thanks MM, its nice to know that I am not alone, and your weight loss is going great, well done.

thanks again guys

Hi,

I have not lost anything after my week 6 and I am in week 9 now. I know its difficult, even i am really frustrated right now. In these 2 weeks my weight went up by as much as 2 kgs on some days. But hang in there, I believe the scales will move eventually..

Hi there,

It is completely normal - that is why we are not encouraged to weigh daily or even weekly. Because slow weight loss or weight gains mess with our heads. My consultant advised that the body often holds onto extra fluid when it is about to reshape and when it is trying to integrate our losses.

If you find you get affected, ease up on the weighing for a little while. Believe me, it will happen. Trust in the program and don't let it get you down. If you get down, you are likely to deviate or throw in the towel. And let's face it, doing either of those things WILL make you gain weight.

Also, I found that if I had diet drinks or chewing gum, my weight would often go up as it made me hold onto fluid. I got more sensitive to artificial sweetners with time. Are you having any of those? If so, give them a break for a few days.

But in the meantime, relax and know it will happen, your weight will move downwards again. The program works. Plateaus are completely normal.

All the best

Butterfly

Hi Beeslimsoon,
Same thing has happened to me several times. (with weight gains also) I am in my 13th week and it has happened at least 5 times now. Just went through 5 days of it, but today lost 500g, so don't be discouraged.
Cheers.

Hi. I have the same problem and I am feeling the same way right now. That is probably why we shouldn" t weigh every day. Try measuring yourself. Usually I find that I drop centimetres even if my weight plateaus and then I will have a big drop. Hang in there - if you are doing everything right it will work.
