Default Good Karma?

I was wondering if there is any way of bringing the good karma back? Or to have a system in which we could give point etc for great posts?
I have recently seen some amazingly helpful & supportive posts, and I would love to be able to reward the poster with something to let them know their post was great.
Just a thought.

Kind of like the 'rate thread' button? Is that what you mean, but for individual posts??

Yeah, kinda like that.
In the old boards, we used to be able to give a Karma to someone... I would give it whenever I found a persons post to be helpful, supportive or informative.
On the parenting forums I am on, we can give reputation points for good posts. I enjoy giving them because it lets people know their posts were appreciated.
I would love for some people on here to know their posts are being noticed and appreciated.

We had it on this board with the old software as well, but it was so abused that we decided to do away with it as it wasn't reflective of anything other than a popularity contest within a small clique of people instead of giving karma for actually making an excellent post.

So, it's not going to make a come back at all?
What a shame if it doesn't... there really are some posts on here that deserve a "High 5" or just an acknowledgment that the post was appreciated.

You could always pm Koh and ask him to recognise an outstanding post in his classics forum thread.

Or, you can simply reply - saying "Hey, I REALLY enjoyed your contribution" - so that the poster knows you were talking about them.

There's lots of ways (including PM, if you wanted to say more "in camera")
