Question Excess protein when weighing ingredients?

What does everyone do with the excess fish, chicken, red meat, etc. when weighing and measuring out your allottment? Does it all go in the bin?

For example: if I need 60 g. of fish, and my fillet is 67g - what to do with excess 7 grams?

I imagine this happens quite often... I am about to start the program next week! April 29th, to be exacrt, and I am so nervous!

Thank you!

hmm.. that's an idea. i am trying to figure out a better way to make use of the "scraps" without having to pile them up to make another measured serving. I guess i could grind it up and use it as mince... thank you!

Hi Michie...

If it's a decent amount like 40 + I will label it and freeze and then be able to use it when I get another set of scraps that I can then join together to make a meal.

If it's less than 40 grams, I tend to give it to my dog and/or cats... and if it's fish I will steam it in its' own little foil pocket and feed it to my cats

I buy mine in bulk and will try and get it as close as possible but obviously am off most of the time lol - so i just try and use it up to make up differences, or i'll put it for hubby, or give it to the doggies! They are loving their fish treats from mummy

make patties out of the extras.
Buy in bulkish, bag it, cut it and the left over make some kind of patty. Mince it up.
Lots you can do.

I pre-pack on shopping day. Anything left over from a kilo of chicken after it's been cut and packaged for the freezer goes to the dog. She sits really patiently while I cut and bag because she knows there's always something left over!

Whatever you do with the leftover meats or vegetables or cheeses when weighing up - just don't eat it!
