Default support

Well since I have been not on the board in the last couple of days due to travling I didn't get to add what I go thru here in the states.
We have to do the internet thing there are no clinic's here, no phone calls, just email contact. I did get emailed back mostly on any questions I had sometimes....most of the time it seemed like a chain letter type answer that they would give everyone or not a answer really to my question. Usually I had to re-ask and hope for the best. So I came on this forum and the U.S.one to get my answers and the support I needed. I heard from them once when I needed to get more blood tests the first time but after that I had to contact them. Not once did I really feel ripped off.
I was happy to pay my money for a program that works. As long as we eat only the food we are allowed we lose weight if we deviate or cheat we know we screw ourselves up, either we stop losing or slow it down. That has to be up to each of us, we certainly can't blame the good Dr. or the clinic's for our screw ups. Kinda like these people that sue a fast food restaurant for getting obese. They just provoide the food they don't make us eat it.

Maybe re-read our programs or contracts and see exactly what they do provide and remind them of that if you don't feel like they are doing they're jobs or holding up they're end of it. But like a Dr.'s office they don't know if your having a big problem unless you tell them.

I say lets suck it up, get on with our lives, do the program we have, lose the weight, be happy and get the support you need from here if your not getting it from your clinic.

Well since the other thread is locked i wanted to say that all is good with the program and all is sorted in other ways as well. i am taking well spoken advice and today is my second day back on cohens. i am looking forward to my journey please forgive as i dont do journals, im not that open and dont wish to have my thoughts eternally on the WWW for everyone to read. So I have a few Questions for those who maybe able to help.
1. where else can i get block mozzerella if woolies and coles up here dont stock it and how much can i expect to pay???

2.Is Pepsi Max ok????

3. I see in reciepies that most of you use capsicum ( YUCK ) what else can i use and if i dont use it will it change the taste of the original idea?

4.How long can i expect it to take to lose 50kg give or take ( mainly give) and i know it depends on myself but most of you must have some idea?

Thank you all and thank your for your advice. Jacin

OK, Jacin, to answer your questions:

1. where else can i get block mozzerella if woolies and coles up here dont stock it and how much can i expect to pay???

No idea, sorry, you'll have to wait for Rocky people to come on to advise. I'd say see if there's a continental deli around. I think we pay about $4 for 500g but I can't really remember

2.Is Pepsi Max ok????

Theoretically no, but, it's just recently been agreed (by the Dr) that if you're not drinking your coffee allowance you can have your coffee allowance in pepsi max. Now, you're allowed 3 coffees a day, so if you want to substitute it you can have 3 glasses of PM a day. That is 1 coffee = 1 glass (375ml) of Pepsi Max. This has only changed in the last couple of weeks and I don't think the news of this has made it out into circulation yet.

3. I see in reciepies that most of you use capsicum ( YUCK ) what else can i use and if i dont use it will it change the taste of the original idea?

No idea. I hate capsicum, so I just don't use it. I don't like quite a few things on the list, so I live without them. Again, stop focussing on what you can't have and make do with what you can. What can you substitute capsicum for? I can't think of anything, as for whether it'll change something's taste, well it could only be for the better to leave the yuk out, but that's just my opinion. Either cook without it or cook something else.

4.How long can i expect it to take to lose 50kg give or take ( mainly give) and i know it depends on myself but most of you must have some idea?

If you stick with it, about 6-7 months. But you need to head-down-bum-up and get it DONE. Stop dilly-dallying and you'll get there.

Jacin, I hope you don't mind my straight out answers. I gotta admit I'm not really good at pussy-footing around, so I guess if you don't like them either ignore them or move on.

A general comment, not necessarily focussed on Jacin:

My observation is that the people who complain about every little thing on this programme are the ones that don't make it. Those that just get ON with it... DO. It's ENTIRELY your choice which 'type' of person you're going to be.

Thank you Asy, i was just wondering about the capsicum as my vegies most are ones i dont eat so pretty much im stuck with onion, mushrooms, cooked tomato as i dont like raw tom, squash and zucchini. so was just trying to substitute stuff in other reciepies to give me a broader eating base as other wise i am having egg for breakfast every morning is this ok to do that . No thank you for your Advice it is sort of like God speaking to you if it were possible for him to do so. Jacinta

You know what us ALice girls are taking a positive slant on being remotely located - our clinic is over 1500km away (2 days drive by road) with not much in between!

So we are getting all the Alice people together, not only through posting in the "Get together thread" but our consultant decided to add it into the monthly newsletter so all us Alice people are going to meet next Sunday at Gloria Jeans! So there you go taking matters into our own hands really is quite empowering (not that I feel like I need the support as I have all that I need right here on the forum)...but it will be nice to meet others, maybe make some new friends and be able to share my experience with others just starting out

Just a thought for others living in the more remote parts of Australia! Maybe start up your own group

The other thing I do is have Sunday 'Cohen' lunch with a few others who I already know...taking it in turns. Tomorrow its at my place - Beef Satays - they are sitting in the fridge as we speak marinating - yumm

Thanks for the kind words Jacin.

I eat the same veggies day in, day out. Mushroom, Tomato and Cucumber for lunch, and Zucchini, Asparagus, Onion, Mushroom and Cauli for dinner. I don't complain because it's my choice. Eat that or be obese.

Now, I must admit, before I started on the programme I NEVER ate Zucchini or asparagus, and very rarely mushroom.

Maybe take this as an opportunity to broaden your horizons? Give other things a try.

Here's how I cook my dinner:

Chop the mean (Usually chicken) up into strips, and stir fry them in a little garlic powder. Take them out of the pan, which, by now should be HOT.
Throw the veggies in (all chopped up) and pour over enough water to just cover the bottom to about 5mm. This quickly steams the veg and they fry at the same time. It also liquidises the chicken flavours and bits that have been cooked onto the bottom of the fry pan. Then I throw the chook bits back in and mix them around. Transfer back to my bowl and add my mayo allowance. Stir it around and I have a yummy creamy stir fry. Sometimes I add mustard powder to the mayo for a bit of bite (as I dont' eat chili).

PS: Yes, one egg a day is fine. Every day is fine.

Hi Jacin and thank you for your PM! My reply is on its way to you! Oh and i love your powerful statement :

I KNOW I WILL ACHEIVE AS THE POWER IS WITHIN ME!

So true and you do have the power to make this happen! Just dont think about tomorrow (re Cohens anyway!), focus on TODAY, one day at a time! Then same tomorrow. P

I have just confirmed with the clinic that Coke Zero is ok too - but within the same limits as Pepsi Max.
