Default Milk ...

Probably a silly question, but is lactose-free milk ok?
I'm just really missing my white coffee, and haven't learnt to like black coffee yet.

Because Dr Chohen said so.

I found that was the best answer whenever I found myself questioning the programme. If the programme wasn't as effective as it was I would have questioned it a lot more.

I've always just thought it was due to the mixing proteins thing. If Milk was allowed perhaps it would 'muddy' the lines of 5 hours between proteins. If we were able to have milky coffee and tea then we would be mixing proteins up in between main meals when we have our cuppa, etc etc.

Just speculating but I think it would be because the Lactose (sugar) content would be higher and the protein content would be lower.

But agree with Baloo, because Dr Cohen said so.

I have found since doing some research and reading that so much of Dr Cohen's rules are backed up be quality studies that I just accept that there is a good reason for following his guidelines. And of course, they work!

Cheers

Yep, I too go with ''cos Dr Cohen said so', but on everything else I've tried, I want to know the reason behind everything!

In the maintenance guidelines it has a very simple equation. Milk=Protein+Sugar. Guess that says enough
