Thanks for the encouragement Mette.

My first week went really well except for the 3 days of headaches [due to caffeine withdrawal no doubt]. Ended up weighing myself on Monday [1st week] lost 3 kgs so really encouraged.

Day 10 and 11 looking like being fairly ordinary - not feeling too well at all. Sick, dizzy could be my cycle contributing though.

Have had 2 lots of visitors - cooking up mobs of great smelling food for others and not eating it myself wasn't such a big issue after all. Hardest thing is not doing "the taste test".

Going away in a weeks time so that will be a challenge. However, this forum is a wonderful way to stay encouraged. It still amazes me how you girls/guys have shed so much - you look so amazing and vibrant Thank you one and all.

Both guests and travelling is all about planning and organising. Like chewing gum when you cook for others to avoid wanting to taste stuff, making sure you have the necessities when you go away.
If you need some advice on the travelling, check out Louise41 and Shanara's diaries. They've done really well with travelling!

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi everyone,

Just finished my 2nd week on the programme. Weighed in for the 10kgs in 6 wks challenge [have lost 4.2kgs in the 2 weeks]. Needless to say I'm very happy

I'm having no trouble sticking to the food, it's all so good and healthy - I still really miss my cup of tea with milk !! Hope I get over this soon. Also, my energy level hasn't improved as yet - so really looking forward to waking up one morning full of beans

Kaye

Hi all,

First month finished on 9th March [total loss of 5.6 kgs]. I am really pleased, but had been hopeful that I would shed the weight faster. I guess our bodies all handle things differently and does what is best for us. Haven't had any worries with the food, no deviations. Was really excited when I found out I actually liked the taste of brewed coffee with sugarine [even though it's chemical !! which I'm not happy about really]. So strange we can't have the natural sweeteners [stevia or xylitol].

Here's hoping we all have a fantastic next weigh in !!

Kaye

Hi Moe, Rowemob & FlaMie,

Thanks for the encouragement Rowemob.

Yes Moe, I remember we started the same day - you're going so well - think it over's 8kgs for the first month for you. Well done ... soooo good

FlaMie - you will be in the 70's before you know it !! I think we all have to do 1 day at a time - and sometimes remember how long it's taken us to get to where we are now - we just have to give our bodies grace to shed the unnecessary kgs at it's rate [our systems must be loving us for the cleansing going on inside us]..

Kaye

Hi Kaye,

Well done on first month down, and well on your way.

In case you haven't found it already, DO check in here:-

Post your 4 week loss into the poll - it all helps to show others (perhaps lurking) what amounts they can expect to lose too.

(And Moe - this applies to you too, since you and Kaye started at the same time)

Keep on rocking, ladies - you're doing fine,

Koh

Hi Kaye,

Look at you go !! TWO big events are almost "neck and neck" ......

Only 300g to go to be halfway through, with "Normal BMI" a close second - maybe 500g will do that !!!

Smaller sizes must be making their appearance soon too (you've probably already had that happen once, with more to come soon).

Rock on, Kaye

Koh

Thanks for encouragement Koh.

Have been popping in to see how everyone is going but not updated my diary for ages. I had been going really well, however the past week has been pretty terrible with family staying - drinking wine, eating chocolate, eating out, being away [living with other people] and all in all not sticking to Cohens !! All of my own doing - now to the un-doing of 1.4kg extra to shed !! I really recognise how one small deviation leads to cravings [ie when I had wine, I then wanted chocolate etc].

Back on track today - will go and re-read my programme and also the last few newsletters.

Kaye

Hi Kaye and a belated welcome. You are doing well, sorry to hear about the hiccups. I think you are right about one slip up leading to some cravings. I am convinced it is not that one drink or that one piece of chocolate that does the damage so much as the fact that it leads to cravings and sometimes we say well perhaps just one more little thing wont hurt. The best thing to do is just to try and get back on track as quickly as possible. Keep up the great losses

Hi all, thanks for the encouragement Louise41. Yep, get back on track asap seemed to be the way to go. Now all is good and looking forward to a few more kgs shed and on to re-feed.

Going up to stay with family in Gladstone soon and my parents and son are not happy that I am still "dieting" !! so hoping that I can get the re-feed done before we visit.

Kaye

Hi Kaye!
You are so close to finishing! Head down and bum up, you can do it!
Don't let your family's thoughts get to you, they're just concerned about you.
You're almost there! Stay strong and keep smiling!

Thanks Mette

I'm getting really excited to be so close to re-feed- the pressure is certainly on from family who don't want me to "keep up with this unsustainable way of eating" - however, I still feel I can shed a couple of kgs yet and don't think I am being too self-critical. It's going to be hard as we're heading off to stay with family for 5 days at the end of the week [lots of pressure to conform to their expectations - ie eat more, drink wine etc]

The important thing is to listen to your body. Your body will tell you when it's time and when it is happy.
Don't be too hard on your family, they are just worried about you. It's difficult for people who haven't been on the program to understand that it is only a temporary thing and that it is a far more sustainable form of weightloss than other programs that are out there. Also, they have the image of what you used to be, and comparing that to the present image, the difference can be quite shocking. Where people who have just met you, think you look healthy and normal and slim, because that's the only way they've ever seen you, your family just see this huge change that has taken place over such a short time.
But as long as you listen to you, you can't go wrong!
