OK, Sorry, but it had to be done...

I'm a Potterphile. I've gotta admit it.

Scary but true.

I'm so sad I've even got a 'ticker' on my computer telling me how many days till the release of the movie (20) and book 7 (30)...

I was wondering how many other Harry Potter fans are on the forum?

Have you read the books? Have you read any of the peripheral books?

What are your thoughts? Predictions? Snape-ideas???

Hi asy

I went to the bookshop and pre ordered a copy of the last book - my son's birthday is on the 18th july and i will give him the voucher BUT i am the one who has to go the shop to get the book, so i will get to read it first - yeh yeh. I will plan sat 21 and sunday 22 july as reading days - well sunday 22nd will be sleeping because i usually read Potter books till i finish so that may mean a long long night.....)

I have read all the other books (usually a fight with the hubby as to who gets the book first - then we read them aloud to the kids). I cannot wait to find out what is going to happen to Harry and the crew but to refresh my memory because it has been a while since i read the last book, i want to re read No 6 - going to take it to melbourne with me!

PS What peripheral books do you mean?

There are a few peripheral books, one's called The Great Snape Debate, it's a double ended book where one end gives the case for "Snape is good" and you turn it over and the other end gives the case for "Snape is bad". My son's been reading it so I haven't yet. Will do so in the next week. There's one written by mugglenet going over all the facts and giving possibilities, and another by someone else doing similar. There are also books summarising books 4 and 5 giving predictions... I have the former three, but not the ones about books 4 and 5. They sorta seem a moot point by now...

I've booked tickets for the movie. We have tickets to the FIRST gold class session on the FIRST day of pre-release. So, at 10.20am on the 11th of July, I'll be grinning wildly Can't wait.

I haven't booked the book yet, because I wasn't sure where I was going to be living on the 26th July, but I don't think I"ll bother ordering it, just turn up to Big W on the day and buy it. I was going to buy more than one copy so the kids could read it at the same time I was, but being broke precludes that, so they'll have to wait.

If anyone's looking for me on the 26th July, I'll be home, reading. Till it's finished. Even if that's 4am.

July 27th is sleeping day.

Ticker says 19 and 09 now, VERY exciting!

My wife is ahuge fan, She surfs the sites and has here on thoery on snape, how willdie, etc...

She thinks Snape will prove good, Harry will die, and not come back via some magic.

She enjoys the moves but thinks they change too much from the book.

Well, we just got home from seeing the movie. It was amazing. The best of the Potter movies yet!

Definately obvious the director had actually READ the book this time! hehe

A couple of small things not quite the same as the book, and I was a little dissappointed at the lack of Dobby, but all in all, about 95% like the book, so I'm thrilled.

Can't wait for the next one!!!

Wife and I saw it this morning and I loved it. Drama, pace and good tension.

However wife was disapointed with the lack of detail and made a good point that whilst Order of the Phoniex is the largest book , it is the shortest movie.

FYI the cinema was packed and had been since yesterday.

On theory wife says JK Rowling says on her official website she does not endorse mugglenet. Harry could still die.

Saw the movie last friday and loved it - exciting, action packed. Yes not exactly the same as the book but pretty close - now i have to wait for the last book!

Got the books Sat afternoon. Started Sat night but only got to chapter 3. Started Sunday at 7.00am and between kids, husband, washing etc etc I have got to Chapter 28 - i have to go to work NOW, so Harry will have to wait till i get home. AHHHHHHH Cannot wait to find out what happens.........
