My NYF Diary
Default Explaining "Back on the Bus" in more detail...

with thanks to Namaste for such a diligent, yet funny and enjoyable, series.
For those familiar with Namaste's Diary, this is her "How do you make a Hormone?" series.

For those who are not familiar with the “Getting Back on the Bus” thread, do read it first, here :-

Namaste's following submissions really clarify just WHO the Seratonin Fairy and Mr HGH really are, and how you can keep them around longer. She also tells how to keep the "Body Boss" from screaming at everyone, and turning your internals into one gigantic stress-ball.

1. Insulin, Glycogen, LPL – the fat storers

2. Glucagon and T3 – the good guys – followed by stress and its progeny (find out WHY we say “Don't stress – it'll stop your weight-loss in its tracks”)

And, before we go to the third link, do you relate to any of these?

Galanin creates feelings of confusion, fatigue, vulnerability and increases cravings for more high fat, highly sweetened foods.

So...for people who start snacking early in the evenings and find they can’t stop...you’ve been at the mercy of your hormones – galanin is the culprit.
If so, this third link will likely turn on a light or two :-

3. Three “goodies” first – then along comes Galanin (the “evening snack turning into a binge” culprit – Galanin is one mean dude).

4. Three more “goodies” one that says “I'm full”, and two that repair you during sleep – but then along comes Calcitrol, another baddy.....

I was fortunate to stumble over this one again - and I figured such good words needed to be "readily accessible" to all, hence this entry into "Classics".

Of course, if you like Namaste's style (and who wouldn't?) her whole Diary is just as funny. So have a breeze through it and light up your day - works for me ......

Nammy-Jen, you are a classic !!

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!
