Default Constipation

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering what is okay to take for constipation on the program? Is anyone else feeling a bit backed up or have they experienced it at all?

Thank you

This is totally normal, works itself out after a few days... green tea helps things move, and prunes.. they arent on the program, but they dont hurt, I had them and ive lost 12kg's in 7weeks so no issues there

I hate green tea but I might just give it a go because as much as I need them, I really hate laxatives & the cramps and sick stomach that comes along with them!!! Did u eat fresh prunes or the dried ones?

Hi there.

I stuck to programme options and try to make good choices for fiber.

Suggestions are: choose fruit and vege and cracker options highest in fiber.

Kiwi fruit, Apples with skin on, Orange
Courgette with skin on, Cabbage. Eat raw vege over cooked options.
Vita wheat cracker over the cream cracker option.

Coffee is a laxative for some people.

If you need to, ie uncomfortable, my programme says ok to take a herbal.
In NZ Countdown/Woolworths sell NutraCleanse herbal. Just 1/2 teaspoon will help over night.

I'm sure I dont need to say this but be patient. Less food intake means there will quite reasonably be a difference in frequency. Decide if it is just less often verus constipation but if it is then ok to manage it with a herbal.

Hi there,

Apples as your fruit helps as does spinach. You can take psyllium too. Another good thing is senna tea.

But mostly I agree with Cobie-Lee - you will need to get used to new habits and less movements. It does get easier with time.

Cheers

Butterfly

Dont forget that now you are eating a lot less you wont need to go to the toilet as much as you have less inside. Its not uncommon on the program not to go everyday

I dont need that now as I go regulary every 4 days or so now I guess, but at the beginning it was very tough and I even had to go to the chemist to get help....lol very embarrassing now, but hey, you have to do what you have to do huh!!

Hi Safi,

Someone earlier mentioned Kiwifruit - and I well recall someone else (years back) mention "eating the Kiwifruit skin"

Sounds strange, but the trick was to turn the skin inside out, so you are chomping on the INSIDE of the fruit anyway - and they said it helped heaps in the "no go" department

Try a Search on kiwifruit - you might stumble over it,

Koh

The most important thing don't force it - there is a difference between nothing there to go and constipation! You will cause damage if you push lol! Some weeks during this program I've gone everyday other times twice a week! Turkish coffee helps me omg does it ever!

Kiwifruit for me, not the skins though but then I haven't tried that as I like to appreciate every allowance gram.
