Default Slight deviation

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and the Cohen diet. I am currently 2 weeks in.

This evening after I'd finished dinner, I really was not satisfied. I had the cheese option maybe that's why... But whatever it was... It caused me to eat more than my daily allowance. I had an additional half apple and about 5 tbsp. cheese... I am so worried.

I really don't want this to happen again or set me back. I am just panicking and don't know where to get support. I know that a lot of Cohen dieters say that one slight setback can be extremely detrimental and I am terrified. I really do not want all my efforts to go to waste.

Please help...

Thanks

Hiya evince, please do not be so panicked!!!
Yes, it's true that even a slight deviation can be detrimental, but it is not the end of the world - nor the end of your journey!! In reality (I am just speaking from personal experience here, no scientific facts), the amount you ate and the type of food you ate MAY stunt your losses for a couple of days, but if you get right back on track by your next meal within a couple of days your body should have settled back into a routine and you should be back to losing weight at the rate you had been. The best advice I can give you is to pick yourself up, accept that you're human and just starting this journey, and next time you don't feel quite satified from a meal (I know the feeling, but after the 3rd wk mark I doubt you'll ever even feel hungry!) just have a glass of water or even some tea (warm liquids make you feel fuller!) and remember these feelings and emotions you're going through now due to deviating.. It'll be enough to stop you deviating in the future, trust me!
Please don't feel so down on yourself or worried, this is a journey so of course there will be some bumps in the road!
Let us know how you get on

HI Evince I am totally with Sally on this one, you haven't ruined anything and the good thing about your deviation was it was still cohen friendly food!!! So stop panicking, learn from your mistake and keep moving forward. One suggestion would be to drink a glass of water before your meal as well as one during even diet sprite or coke would be ok as it would fill you up and also if you tend to get hungry at night then leave your biggest meal for night. I always used the cheese option at night if I was feeling full. A really good filling tea is the mango chicken and its totally delicious, the recipe is in the recipe section on here.

So keep up the good work and before you know it the weight will be flying off! Ive lost nearly 25kgs in 4 months so this program works even if you do have a few hiccups along the way!

Take Care
Kat

Thanks so much SallyG and kailey for your replies. Really appreciate the support.
Congratulations on your weight loss!

I emailed my clinic about it, feeling very guilty, but I suppose at the end of the day it's my health I'm doing it for and not anyone else's. I guess I have to really let that sink in.

Thanks again for your replies. How are you both doing?

Hi evince! How have you been getting on - are you back on track now?? I am starting my programme (again) tmw and am absolutely terrified as I remember how challanging the first couple of wks can be.... But here's hoping I can stick it out (I haven't got a choice!).

Hope the road's getting a bit smoother for you

Ok this time it was only one spoon. But still. I am really not enjoying this process at all. I may have to keep cheese off the menu for a while. It just feels so terrible, having to eat all this stuff... I know it's for my health, and a better body and all... but I am so emotionally drained by it... Sorry for ranting.. Just need to get it all out.
