Default Anyone starting in Jan 2013

Hi all
I am planning to start in Jan 2013 and looking for fellow roadrunners . I stay in Cape Town and must say that I am a bit on the wondering side about the consultant in Cape Town. Whilst doing some research it appears that she is just not that into her clients (hehe). Your thoughts on this will be great!!

I have received all my forms and will be going for my first bloodtest on Monday. So excitied I cant wait!

Hi Ladies

I am from Pretoria and completed Cohens in August 2012. I am sad to say that I have to return for various reasons to lose about 12 kilos that I picked up again. No excuses - the program really works, but it is not a simple diet - it's a lifestyle program where you have to make a conscious decision that you will never be overweight again!

Good luck for you - I am starting my Day 1 today.

Hi Not2Much. Dankie vir die inligting. Met alles wat ek al gelees het om die Forum wys dit net vir my dat dit program is wat ek opsoek na was. Ek het al, al wat n dieet gevolg en was self vir 8 maande lank by n Dieetkundige. Ek het wel gewig verloor maar staan nou vas op 82kg. Verloor dan weer so 2kg maar tel dit net weer op. Ek is baie opgewonde want ek gaan more-oggend vir my bloedtoetse . So dan is die wagtydperk voor ek met my program begin. In jou opinie, is daar enige iets wat ek solank kan doen om as n pre-Cohen? Sterkte vir jou pad! Ek weet jy kan dit doen. Jy het dit die eerste keer reg gekry en gaan lees gerus n paar van die posts wat jy gemaak het. Dit is regtig baie inspirerend.

Ja - die forum en die ander inspirerende verhale help 'n mens baie om gemotiveerd te word! Dit help ook om jouself 'accountable' te hou. Die grootste fout (in my opinie) is om weg te beweeg - wanneer jy klaar jou doelwit bereik het en jy dink nie dat jy meer Dr Cohen se maintenance guidelines (of die accountability van die forum) nodig het nie.

So baie geluk met jou groot besluit - jy gaan baie beslis baie tevrede wees. Dan is dit ook somer tyd, en die beste tyd om te begin met Cohens - daar is lekker tropiese vrugte beskikbaar (yummy mangoes); jy kan baie goed regkom met met slaaie en roerbraais; en dis natuurlik baie makliker om al jou water te drink en nie te verlang na koffies en hot chocolate nie.

Die eerste keer toe ek begin het was ek ook so gatvol om nie meer in my klere te pas nie, dat ek die dag na my konsultasie begin het. Jou konsultant sal vir vra wanneer jy WIL (party begin op die 1ste van 'n maand of op 'n Maandag) maar ek het dadelik begin en het in die dae voor dit by die beginsels van Cohens (pre-cohens) gehou. Enige iets is reg, maar persoonlik dink ek dit is beter om aan te hou eet soos wat jy eet (of selfs oorboot te gaan - 'afskeid' te neem) tot die dag wanneer jy begin, om 2 redes:

1) Jy sal die dag wat jy begin so sleg voel van al die suiker, sout, stysel en vet dat jy sal dink jy wil nie weer so voel nie.

2) Die eerste paar dae se 'losses' is water wat jou liggaam terug gehou het en jy verloor dit ongelooflik vinnig! Jy kan maklik 2 kg oornag verloor en dit sal jou motiveer om aan te hou. DAN moet jy jou nie weer weeg tot jy by jou konsultant kom nie, want die losses sal stadiger gaan en dit mag jou dalk demotiveer.

Nog 'n ding:

Neem voor en na foto's en neem jou mates. Baie min konsultante doen dit so jy moet dit self doen. In die begin dink jy dalk dis nie nodig nie, want jy is nou al so lank gewoond 'aan hierdie groot liggaam', dat jy nie kan imagine hoe vinnig jy dit gaan verloor nie. In plaas van om te weeg by die huis, vergelyk jou sentimeter losses elke week - jy sal nie oë kan glo nie.

hi daar

ekt refeed klaar gemaak die 9de desember en is toe see toe vir 2 weke. eks baie dankbaar ekt net 2.5kg opgetel en is darem weer 3kg af. so ek is weer waar ek was voor ek op verlof gegaan het

julle moet n lekker daggie hê

Baie geluk met jou prestasie(s)! Nou net jou nuutste foto gesien - jy lyk regtig pragtig! Moenie skaam wees om nog te plaas nie.

Net versigtig wees - dit is baie lekker om maerder te wees as wat jy ooit gedink het, maar moeilik om te onderhou (sustain). Die probleem is dat jy deur mekaar raak met wat nou eintlik jou doelgewig is, bv:

Dr se doelgewig vir my is 54-57, maar toe ek daar kom wou ek nie ophou nie. Ek het refeed begin op 49.5 en klaar gemaak op 48.1. Toe ek begin optel kon ek nie die gevaarligte sien flikker nie want is dit nou 4kg bo 48.1 of 4kg bo 57?

Ek het nou besef dat ek maar die goeie dokter volkome moet vertrou en wanneer ek nou by sy doelgewig kom gaan ek eerder gym om te 'sculpt'.

Hi Adele - ek dink ons moet kyk of hulle nie 'n artikel in 'n tydskrif van jou ongelooflike gewigsverlies kan plaas nie? Daar is omtrent elke week 'n storie in HG of Sarie van dames, en hulle het nie naby soveel gewig verloor in naastenby dieselfde tyd nie!

Sal jy belang stel in so iets?

N2M. Nee noggie. Sy het my gemail en gese dat sy my forms ens het en net wag vir die bloedtoetsuitslae. Dan stuur sy alles na Dr Cohen toe en sal my dan vroeg vlg week skakel vir n agspraak. Ek is so opgewonde veral nadat ek Adele se fotos gesien het. So die tyd gaan vreeslik stadig verby!!

Daar is nog 'n dame van CT wat einde verlede jaar klaar gemaak het - Michmac - ook met baie goeie resultate. Ek sien sy loer nog so nou en dan in hier - soek haar op en lees haar dagboek as jy wil - ek glo sy sou ook by dieselfde konsultant wees as jy.
