Umm, that's a bit open-ended shazza, can you be more specific?

Meanwhile, as food for thought, I do know of several that faced different aches and pains as their POSTURE changed during the journey.

Is this you? I dunno !!

Could it be simply posture change? Could a physio, or chiropractor help maybe?

Hey Koh,

Sorry was leaving it open ended to see what sort of response I got. Will be more specific. I have a swollen and inflamed thumb joint. Have been to a physio and a DR and neither know what is causing it. I have to have a blood test on Monday, was just curious if anyone else has had a problem like this? It's extremely painful and the dr doesn't think its an infection as it has slowly gotten worse over a two week period. He is guessing at viral arthritis but no other joints are affected.

could be a gout of sorts but unusual for that one joint to be singled out
occams razor- the simplest answer is often correct- is it an injury eg bent sprained, stabbed bitten stung

I shall have my answer tomorrow. Blood test should tell all.
I went to the physio first thinking it was just a sprain or something....nope definitely not. There is no broken skin so doubtful about a bite. I dunno...I have stopped eating tomato and oranges and the swelling has gone down...but then I have also stopped going to work because of the pain so am not doing much with it so that could also be why the swelling has gone down...

mpsych - think I'd feel better if it'd been because of wine or pheasant...or rich food for that matter.

OK So my joint problem has been acting up a little over the last couple of days. I have not been eating tomato so am unsure what the problem is. I got on to google gout and causes and such and they actually said that if your not eating carbs the protein rich food can build up too much uric acid in your system. So could it be the LIFESTYLE CHOICE that is causing it? My dearest hubby chose this point to point out that I actually broke my diet back when I originally had it and that could also have been the cause of why it went away plus the not eating tomato. Should I be going to my doctor about this? I have finally gotten into a good headspace and don't want anything else to distract me! I am set on goal!

you are unlikely to be eating anywhere near enough protein to build up uric acid
are you certain it is not rsi
sometimes we get pain and cant find a reason- is the pain so bad that it debilitates

It's most assuredly gout. Had the blood tests done and was informed by my GP. The pain is not at the debilitating point again yet but I am concerned because its getting more tender every day.

Hi shazzab,

Dial up SMS (SundayMorningStaple) diary. He did this Plan and GOT RID of the gout that had been around for many years !!

His diary might give clues re his journey (sorry, can't remember - but I can recall his final post that showed that pretty much ALL was cured!!).

Anyway, SMS is still around on here, so you might get to quiz him directly. Who knows what clues he can offer?

Koh
