Smile 1st Time Cohenite

Hello!

My name is Audree and this is my first time around with Cohens. My official start date will be this Monday. I have tried everything and anything, from WW, Lindora, Atkins, South Beach. I even have a lapband that keeps me at my current weight, but I can never break past the 170ish mark. If I get it filled anymore than I am right now, I have horrible acid reflux issues and it does not even help me lose past where I am. I am thinking if I lose the weight with Cohen's I will have my lapband removed as I still occasionally have acid reflux if I eat too late and go to bed within a couple hours of bedtime.

I am currently 172 and my goal weight is 145. My highest weight was 240 and I have always struggled with my weight. I am 5/4' and 40 years old. I think my metabolism might be slowing down as well. I am very excited to see what kind of results I will have with Cohens and I am going to give it 100%, although I am doing it through the holidays because I want to know I gave it all I had. My brother in law is currently also on the plan and has lost 30 pounds in one month. I know men lose it faster but he says I should lose about 20 in the first month.

I just bought by food scale, a KitchenAid digital scale and I am getting my food lists prepared to get the foods I need. I am looking forward to getting support from this web site and accountability as I know I will need it!!

Welcome Audree, the forum is great for those questions that arise, especially if your consultant is online or distance. Great place if your looking for people to cheer you on. Many of us have tried every diet under the sun, I tried WW, low kilojoules, the zero diet, fruit for life, nothing worked. I entered Cohen's hoping I wasn't going to be ripped off lol, and was stunned and amazed at how it works. Stick to it 100%, deviations are insanely hard to come back from, and slow your weight loss down as you get your body out of the fat burning zone.

Prepare to be stunned and amazed as you shrink...

I found your diary! Yay! It's great that you have the support of your brother in law and good that you've come here for support and encouragement too. This forum is a real help.

How about going to tickerfactory.com and adding a ticker to your signature so we can celebrate your milestones with you and encourage you as you head to your goal weight.

I look forward to following your progress.

Louise

I will add my ticker. Also you mentioned you found my diary? I just submitted for approval and trying to figure out what I do next. Do I just start one in the thread for new diaries? Yes my brother in law has been answering all my questions and I have had a ton!

I did my shopping and im getting prepared for my start date tomorrow. I bought chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, yellow zucchini, low fat cottage cheese, cumin, garlic, apples, Ziploc freezer baggies so I can weigh and freeze food for the week, eggs...to start. I already have my digital scale, water bottle, balsamic vinegar.

I saw my brother in law this weekend who is on the plan and he's already lost 35 in 4 weeks!! Hoping I have success too. So here goes!

Hi Audree. I have been struggling so tomorrow I am going to have my band emptied and then I am going to start again in Saturday. How much fill do you have at the moment and are you struggling to eat any of the foods? We can encourage one another as we are at about the same weight with about the same to lose. Sometimes I wish I didn't have a band but I know that I without it I wouldn't have got to where I am now.

Hi Downsize! Id love to be in support of one another. Why are you having your band emptied? Are you having problems with.it? I have 3.75 in a 4 cc band. I had it filled a little more but it didn't help me lose weight at all and just made me have issues, pbing and acid reflux. I feel better now. It does keep me at between 175 and 178, but no less. It does take me at least 15 or so.minutes to eat my meal. But we are eating the way we are really supposed to, protein first then veggie. How have.you done on Cohens?

Hello, I have lost 20 so far. I didn't follow the 5 hours between breakfast and lunch and I really think it set me back. I'm pretty frustrated at the moment. I'm about to begin week 8 and I feel I should have lost more. I haven't deviated at all only the five hour issue. I'm hoping I can lose the last 13 pounds this month. I'm eager to begin my refeed. I really need the support because I feel like I'm really struggling. I feel like if I would have done things right I would have lost twice as much. I need to keep focused on my progress I know. How are you doing on the program?

Hey there Audree, 20 kilos is awesome. .. 3 kilos a week is a great loss. Think about the positive things you have achieved rather than the honest error of the 5 hour thing. You have done an amazing job.
This is my 2nd full time try.... i say full time because i have tried it another time in between the full time ones however didn't give it my full time attention. First time my husband and i lost 35kg each in 4/5 months. We are doing it together again this time and are only on day 5 so just starting again.

I look forward to following your journey.

Hi Audrey, don't beat yourself up...stress only makes things worse. The timing of all our food is important, the positive is that you've lost half your weight already. Let's see what happens over the next 4 weeks....smile, you're over half way xxx

Thanks Ciors for the encouragement! I need to keep my eyes on my progress. The doctor finally got back to me and it looks like I have not been producing adequate amounts of HGH, which I know is because of the 5 hour window thing. I am really hoping that now that I am doing it right, the rest of the weight will fall off!

Thanks Booboo! I need to keep my eyes on the progress and not that I could have lost more or I will go crazy! Congrats on the great success you have seen on the program! My husband and I are doing the program together too but he is almost done. He has lost almost 30 pounds and has only a few to go. He will be starting re-feed soon. Did you guys do re-feed the 1st time around? It seems when people don't do it, they have the tendency to gain some back?
