Post Red Cabbage

Hi All,

Just wanted to make sure red cabbage is allowed on the program?

It does not specify in my program it just says cabbage.

Your insight would be much appreciated...

Hi ya, mine says red and green so I would say so. What are you going to do with it - not a great fan of cabbage so need some new recipes for variety.

Hi Bogie,

Thanks for your post. I like red cabbage...I just eat it as it (slice it up really thinly)...probably sounds gross haha but i enjoy it...I add vinegar and mayo...some people make a cohen friendly colesaw with it using celery mayo and sprite zero...but im not a big fan of colesaw.

Hope you are doing well on your Cohen journey

try the sweet red cabbage recipe that JuJu posted. I really like the red cabbage that way. It has red cabbage, onion, celery, 1/4 sliced pink lady apple, apple cider vinegar, sprite zero, garlic powder and 2-3 whole cloves (I use a sprinkle of clove powder so I don't have to go dig the cloves out.
You fry the onion with a bit of salt. Add the cabbage and celery and continue frying. Add a splash of the vinegar, fry until dry then reduce heat to low. Sprinkle some garlic powder and then add the apple and a small amount of vinegar. Then add a bit of sprite and the cloves and boil off a bit then add a bit more sprite until the cabbage and apple are soft. Great with a bit of your grilled meat and looks to be alot to eat.

Tried Battler's red cabbage and apple recipe for dinner this evening, eating it with my steak and it was lovely - a nice change from salad and stir fry.
