Default What is your absolute favourite Cohen recipe?

Following my love affair with the Garlic "Bread" recipe in the Cohen clinic book, I was thinking how it would be good to have some feedback on people's favourite recipes. Whether they be in the clinic books or something you have concocted yourself, would you mind letting us all know which recipes really hit the spot?
Obviously we all have different tastes, however this may be quite helpful in our meal planning.
Winter ones, summer ones, comfort food, ease of preparation - whatever makes it ideal it would be really interesting to know.
Thanks in advance
Donna

My ultimate go-to Cohen recipe is Taco Beef which I got from the Recipes thread... I call it Mexican Beef though. Nice comfort food plus it's easy to make.

Hi Sammy and GLT
Thanks for your input - I must say that since I read your favourite, Sammy..I too am onto it. The chili garlic prawns make for a fantastic salad - especially with salad.
Havent tried the taco beef - loving the sound of it being comfort food.
Come on everyone, surely there are some other favourites - we can't be the only ones in love with some dishes...
Share your favourites, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favourite (hubby's too) is the Meatballs in Sweet Tomato Sauce - it is so yummy and so filling, and because the veggies are in the meatballs and the sauce, its like you aren't even eating them!

My other fav is the ramekin pizza's - so much link junk food without being junk food!

Sorry Donna I thought I had seen one in the forum but it was a Cauli and Fetta recipe which gave me the idea. I have now put up the one I use which is adapted from an old cauliflower soup recipe I have been using for years : http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...614#post324614

Hubby's favorite is the Baked Fish!

At the top of my head, here's the recipe:

Season fish with salt and pepper.
Rub mustard powder and mixed herbs after.
Place in foil.
Top fish with chopped mushrooms, tomatoes and onions.
Close foil over fish completely.
Bake in oven for 10-15 minutes.
Serve hot.

Happy eating!

Ok - another favourite now from me again - and oh what a surprise..it is a cheese recipe!
I made some pizzas from the cohen cook book using crispbread as base and whatever fresh herbs and veg i had in the fridge...now I am going to have to alternate my two favourites...
I think that the garlic bread has the edge due to the crackers staying crisp (by not being cooked with moisture softening them), so will try the pizza by cooking the actual toppings, then sliding them onto the crispbread - think this will be a winner.
Never knew I loved mozz cheese so much!

Yay - a non cheese favourite or two...
The Tom Yum soup on the last page of the recipe book is awesome. ONLy alterations I made was to add a tablet or two of sweetener (to get that salty, sweet, sour taste of thai) and i only throw the prawns in as I am taking the soup off the heat. Spectacular meal - thanks to Noddy (Alison) for the heads up on this.
Also the Chicken Nuggets are awesome - the recipe can be found on the recipe thread. I am on a chicken nugget bender lately - they are pretty special!!!
Hope you enjoy!

I'm not sure if this one is in the recipe book, got it from a colleague who's also on cohens. Made it today, it's yummy. Make 6 at a time and it freezes well.

Breakfast Muffins
Mixed vegetables (allowance) - I used mushrooms, zucchini and onion
1 egg (allowance) (use one for each 'muffin' you're making
Dried herbs (to taste)

Chop the vegetables into cubes
Season to taste.
Scoop the allowed amount of cubed vegetables into a muffin tin. Crack an egg straight over the vegetables. The yolk usually sits on top and the white runs through the vegetables binding them together.
Place in a moderate oven for about 20 minutes or until the egg is cooked. Leave it to cool and turn out. These can also be made in advance in a batch of 12 in a 12-pan muffin tin and frozen individually to be used when you are in a hurry.

Mushroom and spinach frittata is one of my favorites, one I am trying to avoid.

Another favorite of mine is cauliflower rice, I add it to eggs and to mince meet and chicken and its delicious!

Also loving the meatballs in sweet tomato sauce as per recipe section. Seems to hit the spot with savoury and sweet overtones, with the fresh basil making it fragrant and really enjoyable
