Default Peta's Diary

Hi all,

Well a little bit about me first up I am a mother of a gorgeous little boy who I love to bits and have a boyfriend who says I'm beautiful no matter what my size and tells me so all the time.

For as long as I can remember I have been a big girl and I had to over come a lot in the past decade and until I did I knew I would never be able to stop the emotional eating habit I had so after a lot of years fixing my head I'm ready to go on this journey and fix the way I look,I no somewhere in there is the beautiful me ready to come out.

Ive been on Cohen's now for 7 weeks and loving it no cravings no deviations and the first time I'm loosing the weight instead of gaining it Ive gone from a size 26 to a size 18 and look forward to smaller sizes (Ive been window shopping already).I have even gone back into baking which is my true passion my son and bf are loving it and I haven't even been tempted to try so that's a plus.

So on I plod with the knowledge Cohen's has given me and the support I have from family and friends and of course this forum.

Well here I am going into my eighth week and still going strong I don't know why I didn't start this program sooner I mean I have been umming and arring for months weather to join now I wish I had of just bite the bullet back then because I'm loving it.
My family are noticing and telling me I look good which give me that extra encouragement that I need and when ever they ask how I'm doing it I proudly pipe up and say it all thanks to the Cohen's lifestyle program

That is so great! I've been on this for 3 weeks, only lost 6.7 kg. I've to try so hard to resist temptations around me, especially being a social eater.
Am sure you look GREAt without the 13kg. Keep up! We'll look out for one another.

Hi Corbyns mum,

Sounds like you are doing great I am only on Day 6 of the program and so far so good. I lost too many years of being able to do things with my boys because of my weight so it is great that you are doing this now while your little boy is still young. I look forward to following your progress.

Take care,
Pooky

Hi all here i am again,
Well I did a quick weight check today and 20 kgs down but I'm not gonna make that official (on my ticker)till I go for my next weigh in on the 19th. I know I have alot more to lose but I'm happy with a 20kg lose in just over 7 weeks and as a treat I took my son to the zoo and couldn't believe the energy I had.
I went a few months ago with family and was puffed out after the first half hour but today we walked 4.5 hrs and I am happy to say I could of walked longer.

I am so looking forward to the future now and being able to keep up with my very active boy.

Peta

Hi Peta,

WOW!!! 20 kgs in 7 weeks is amazing. Well done.

You think you feel good now....just wait until you have lost another 10kgs and then another 10 after that. You will be feeling and looking better each day. Our kids are the best motivation for sure.

Keep up the great work.

Thanks Rach for the encouragement,

Yeah kids are a great motivation also my bf is wanting more down the track and I don't wanna have the complications of being overweight and pregnant again rather be healthy and enjoy my pregnancy next time round.

I can't wait to lose more and more cause I know if I feel good after 20 I will feel fantastic wen I'm even lighter.

Peta,

Oh my Gosh! 20kgs in 7 weeks! What a dream! That is testamount to your hard work. Go girl

Do not underestimate how quickly our kids grow up, I still remember holding my oldest boy in my arms when he was born and in a few weeks he will be 18! I keep thinking, how did this happen? It was only yesterday! Oh I could kick myself for not getting in shape sooner. Three years ago we had a fabulous holiday on the Gold Coast and went to every theme park twice!... but poor old mum (aka... ME!) had to just sit back and watch half the time because I couldnt possibly get on the rides

But more importantly do it for you, because when that time does fly by and suddenly you are waving them off to college you want to be able to whip back inside and gather up your bungy jumping gear and leap into the next phase of your life!

Life is too short for sitting on the fence, time to choose which side we want to be on... the grass is not only greener... the paddock is much roomier! lol

Thanks Tammy

You are so right I don't wanna be the mum who cant join in the fun with my kid. It may have taken me a few years but I have definitely chosen which side of the fence I wanna be on.

I have tried dieting before but for all the wrong reasons from wanting to be wear something nice to doing it for a partner and as everyone knows it never worked but I can now say proudly I am doing it for me and my health so I know I will succeed !!!

Yes Debs the Zoo was fantastic and it wasn't a hot day either so made it even better ...

Well just thought I would check in and say 3 days to weigh in hoping to crack the 20kg weight loss and i have started to do a little bit of exercise (I have a Ab king pro)that way i can tone up a little as i lose weight but only small amounts so not to get hungry and so far so good just hope it can help with my tummy bulge (from Pregnancy ) lol.. Well only time will tell.

Don' stress re baby bulge. You are doing the right thing now, so I agree with the other posts, don't push it. You probably do lots of exercise anyway with an active little one. My 'little one' is 8 years old and I weigh about what I did when I was full term with him. Very depressing, but onwards and upwards, and starting to feel better.

Looking forward to your 8 week weigh in. Are you only weighing 4 weekly? I've planned to do that as I don't want to mess my head with cyclical changes.

Keep up the great work,
Sharon

Hi all

Well I went in today for my 8 week weigh in and it official I have hit the 20kg mark and I am couldn't be more happy.

It is true if you are 100% then you will reap the benefits now I know I can do this I will never go back to being the old me.
And Sharon I usually only weigh in every 4 weeks but I think if in the future I feel like I might be struggling I would get on the scales it I feel would help me mentally but hoping that wont happen. Also MissNix as you can see all went great thanks for keeping an eye on me .

Now Peta.....

I know you're a good girl and are folllowing the plan that the good doctor prescribed for you.... but watch your exercise.... It can make you quite hungry and can deplete your energy too.... BE CAREFUL! Does your programme mention anything about exercise??? Mine says that if I didn't do any now not to start....so for me...couch surfing and walkingt he dog is the way to go *LOL*

I have to tell you though, that any piece of exercise equipment I have ever owned has usually been used as a clothes hanger!*LOL*

Well, my'dear have a wonderful day...enjoy the good weather and I will check in this afternoon

I have a beautiful shiny expensive new treadmill which makes a lovely coat rack! And the handles on my rather expensive exercise bike is a great place to store my handbag.... you mean thats not what they are for?! lol

Actually Peta, Im with you, I have so much more energy lately (except for the sudden insomnia!) that I think I may dust them off and see if they haven't totally seized up yet.

Sounds like you are still going great. Well done, I will still be here with you when you reach goal
