Louises refeed fantasy come true
Well I finally made it! I think my thread is aptly named because I really cnat believe that I made it! Its the first time I have ever got to the end of a diet - and yes I know I still have a way to go, but I am super confident that I will get there! I have struggled and struggled of late with sleep problems, hunger issues and back pain, I should have just listened to my body and started refeed instead of trying to hit the numbers exactly.
Here I am on day 2 and already feeling 100% better. Isnt it amzing what a little food will do! I think my body had shut down and gone into famine mode. Day 1 68kgs Day 2 66.7kgs (1.3kgs down) Yep the minute I stopped fighting it and went to refeed I think my body relaxed and dropped the weight it was obviously hanging onto for dear life! Isnt it amazing what a different a little more fruit and veges can make. I had my first slice of bread in 6 months yesterday (apart from what they made me have after my operation) and really enjoyed it with a bit of chicken and salad. I bought it while it was still hot! It was also a relief to have that extra piece of fruit to get me through the day. I always space my snacks out to get me from meal to meal and it was so great to just put that extra fruit in. I must admit I was quite concerned about adding as I was afraid I would put weight on, so the scales this morning were a real revelation!! Well off I dance into my fantasy - yeahCome join me! Yaaaaaayyy for starting refeed and feeling so much better, Louise and an extra big Yay for dropping 1.3kgs!
I can so relate to the body resisting you all the way until it got what it wanted. It will be interesting to see how I go! So happy the extra foods have made such a difference for you! Enjoy the refeed process! Vee |

Hi Elle-ouise,
Wow - that is such a statement:- Quote:
It will be interesting to see how the rest of refeed pans out for you. Just remember, what you HAVE been eating for the last 6 months is WAY LOWER than "normal" - so, your eyes now have to get used to seeing MORE on your plate. Just trust it, Louise, and go with it. DON'T stress about the ever-increasing amounts - you NEED them now !!! As always, stay as light, happy and excited as you can, and refeed will prove to be a doddle for you. Hugs, Koh

Just a big happy hushpuppy I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed... And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !! |

Thanks for your support as always Koh, I think I have to follow my own advise and go with the flow. Your right about the food Koh, I had to change to a bigger plate last night, for the last 6 months Ive been eating off a small plate to fool my eyes into thinking I had a full plate of food, was funny having a big plate last night!

Thank you HBs, yes it was weird, who would have thought more food = weight loss! I remember someone else mentioning that in the maintenance diaries so I thought I would just trust and try and bingo!
I hope that weather is easing up for you and your electricity is staying on!! Stay cool!! |
