Smile 1st time in the Forum and new into Cohen

Hi, I'm Ana from Dubai! I'm 6 days into the Cohen diet and came by this forum while trying to find recipes. It's very encouraging to find a forum/support group like this while into the Cohen journey!

thank you for the reply! honestly, i'm struggling to keep with the program, I always feel hungry and I'm constantly suffering from headache. I almost gave in today but I managed to stick with it. Is this normal to still feel cravings on the 6th day? When will the body adjust? Thanks again!

I can't speak from personal experience as I seem to one of the lucky ones who doesn't experience detox, but I was told the symptoms can last about a week. Stick with it as deviating now will only prolong the detox and the hunger. Are you taking any supplements to help with the hunger? Some people found that chromium helped with their hunger? A glass of water can sometimes dull the hunger as well.

For some people the first time on Cohen's is a massive shock to the system....it isn't like other programs with room for movement, but the results are super fast... All the best Anarvs, and keep coming back to the forum , it helps pass the hard times of the program

Welcome Anavs!

Oh it can take a little while for the cravings to stop... and even then they can pop up again. You get stronger as each day passes.

Hi Anarvs - as you must be past the end of your first week I hope you are starting to feel better. My first week was full of headaches and feeling off until day 6. It will get better as you stick to the program 100%. I am at the end of week 3 and am feeling great. The good feeling chemicals in the brain (serotonin I think) kicks in and keeps the cravings in hand. Mind you, my eyes and nose still see and smell the great food the family are having. I eat and move away from the table so I am not tempted. I am a returnee after 4 years and know this is the right program for me. It really works.

Hi Wendy10, I lost 4 kgs so far and that keeps me motivated. I've had some hits and misses on the recipes but I'm managing it better now and I've learned to space my meals properLy so I won't be super hungry in between.

Great job, ladies!

Spacing your allowances is very important early on! When I first started I had set alarms on my phone so I was properly spacing my fruit and crackers between meals, so I always had something to snack on... Keep those tummy rumbles at bay!! Also, I tend to feel a little nauseous when I get the hungries! haha.

I have a question though, i have not lost weight since last week. although when i measured i lost 3 inches on the waist, 1 inch on each arm, 1 inch on each leg and 2 inches on the chest. i'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Could it be because I ate a full meal when I had a dizzy spell last week?

Could have been. Was the full meal just cohens but earlier? Or an off the plan meal?

Sounds like some awesome inches lost there though!! The clinics recommend weighing monthly as some times we don't lose weight, we lose in measurements.

Well the rice could definitely cause some weight loss complications... Don't worry, just soldier on and stay away from those scales!! It'll all work out And at least you're losing inches!!!

Red face Re: 1st time in the Forum and new into Cohen

Hi Anarvs - how are you feeling this week? I just read your post about feeling faint and dizzy and having what I call a "crash moment". Fully understand as I did that last time.

I am not going to weigh each week this time as the program says we lose weight in cycles, and inches when weight is not recorded. However I must admit I had to weigh in on Friday the first week just to reward myself for the detox. I am coeliac so have rice in my program (for my slices). So rice is not a total no-no just the quantity.

Could it be that your blood sugar was dropping? I was advised to take chromium picolante tablets to help stabilise my blood sugar levels and do this in the afternoon when my cravings sometimes start.

Let us know how your are going.
