Default Ed's Diary

Well, day 6 today and all smooth sailing.
No hunger, i was very tired waking up on the weekend though.
I had to force myself up from our sleep in to scoff my breakfast so the timing for the rest of the day wasn't "out" too much.
Getting used to the weighing and pre-packing luch, I'm having my feta today for lunch with a nice salad - DarlingWife commented "it's a nice side salad" but then she is only a size 10 and can eat whatever she likes.

I weighed myself this morning but will wait until thursday for the 1 week mark before i comment.

I have been through the forum and read lots, particually about how easy it is - at this stage i'll agree!

Looking forward to a thin me, even if DW likes me "cuddly"
Ed

Thanks Jazzi - i just read your diary and thanks goodness i don't have the headaches and issues you have had. Very inspiring, Keep up the good work.

I can identify with the smells - I do all the cooking and even cooking for Darling Wife and Daughter it has been okay. I made my daughter a practice birthday cake on the weekend (turning 1 on Friday so need something for Day care) and almost licked my fingers at the end and fortunately had the thought "what are you doing, No!"

Sal- Thanks too, i love your signature line and it made me think of idiots - all the people who have told me i was fat over the years when, in hindsight, i was not. I wish i could go back and be the weigh i was then and realise i was at a healthy weight. I've started that journey - i will be back there!!

Hi Ed

Best of luck! Well done on starting the program, and I hope things continue to be good for you.

Look forward to hearing about your jouney, as we are fairly close in starting dates (I started on the 8th).

Keep strong and enjoy that Fetta!

Hi Ed,

great work for your first week! as you read around the diaries you will see that the scales go up at some stages. It all depends on where you are in your hormone cycle, and yes men do have one too. dont panic as it will start dropping again soon.

keep up the great work!

going well ed
i have done some experiments with the scales and i have found that weighing in no more than every 2 weeks is ok. i have daily fluctuations ( up to 1kg) and on one occassion went up 4kg and down 5 in 1 week
sooo, dont worry too much about the scales, all will be revealed in time. take your measurements, they will amaze you
hang tough
cheers

Thanks McPsych, I'm not concerned but would have liked a bigger loss given it will probably slow down. It was 5kgs a week i'd be there in no time!

I've updated my profile photo but it is an old one (10 yrs, 20kgs ago... ) as inspiration more for me than anything. It's still about 25 kgs off goal though.
Measurements tonight so fingers crossed.
Ed

Welcome Ed and all the best with Cohen's! Stick to it and you will be amazed! I found that it works better for me if I don't plan/expect to lose certain kgs for a certain period of time - I've left it all to The Body and Cohen, I'm just trying to be D-free at all time and enjoy the journey.

You will do great!

Happy birthday to your little one for tomorrow!

All the best!

Hi Ed
Congratulations on taking a major step in ensuring you are around in good health for your daughter (and obviously it goes without saying - for yourself and extended family).
Men loose quicker than women so you will see and feel the changes very soon. Don't just focus on the end and how long it may take you as at, say, 10kg in, you will be starting to feel pretty good and clothes will be noticeable looser.

Thanks all,
18cm off measurements last night so i'm pretty happy with that.

No deviations and it's all going well - didn't even lick the bowl last night after making DD's cake - a lovely pink cinnamon butter tractor cake for day care. I've attached a photo but maybe dont look if it tempts you....

Hoping the weekend goes well - i found it more tempting last weekend being at home and having more oppertunity to think about whats in the cupboard and having to wait for meal time.

I realised that i am glad i found this site and continue to check (a little addictive but less fattening than food) compared to relying on any support from the clinic and phoning them unneccesarily when i find so many answers and support here, thanks again.
Cheers for now,
Ed

Hi Ed,

Welcome aboard - you really are going to ace this thing. Being young, and male, will have you "outtahere" quicksmart !!

I'm sure DW will turn around once she sees you healthy !! Cuddly is nice, but healthy is better - and that is where you're heading.....

Hehe, re the forum being a bit addictive, umm, yeah !! But, as you say, not an overly bad addiction to have,

Koh

Thanks for dropping by Koh.
Not much to report this end - Prawns last night were delicious, and more for luch today.
I seem to find cooking two meals at night (one for night and next days lunch) the easier option at this stage - i'm cooking every night for DW anyway and we dont have the freezer space to do a weeks worth, or the time to cook that much in one hit. So i have cycles of meat/ chicken/ fish but it is becoming second nature. DW still offers some of her food until she gets "the look" from me, she just knows i would like what she is having but i'm not even tempted.
Hope everyone else is going well, Ed
