Default asy's diary

Well, here's a start to my diary.

As of this week I'm 50kg down, 40 to go.

I'm really enjoying the programme, I love the fact that I can RELY on losing weight EVERY week, week in week out. It's so cool.

Today, for the first time in years and years I did something I never thought I'd do again. I shaved my legs.

We're going to Dreamworld on Sunday as a Graduation 'party' for my son (from primary school ). I asked him whether he'd rather go to their Graduation ceremony, or to Dreamworld. The result was predictable

I've checked that I have bathers that fit (I do) and I've bought BOARD SHORTS and a nice light shirt, and I've now shaved my legs!!! WOOHOO!!!

I've also bought a new pair of Denim Shorts, coz Denim is really my favourite.

I plan to go on the FLOWRIDER with my kids!!!

Unfortunately we've missed the opening of 'Whitewaterworld' by a week, but I couldn't fathom the thought of going to Dreamworld during the school holidays! In any case, my son wants to go BACK there for his birthday in January, and it'll be open then!

Oooh, I also bought new shoes this week. Now that may not seem exciting to some of you, but, I have a size 13 foot, and when you have a size 13 foot that's also double the WIDTH of a normal foot due to FAT DEPOSITS, you have serious problems finding shoes that aren't in the 'extra large mens shoes' section. I went to GILMOURS shoes who stock oversized shoes and I bought a pair of womens shoes. OK, they ain't glamorous, but I wanted a pair of casual summer walking type shoes, so they're FLY FLOT Shoes, and they're comfy.

Well, that's my news for the day.

Well 50KG down, what a fantasic achievement, you have lost more than my Mother-In-Law.

Have you found your loss was/is slowing down or is it been about the same as pervious months?

I thought my loss was slowing down, but it these last 7 days it has been 2.5KG, making up for the previous slow week.

Are you getting sick of eating Cohen foods?

Nah, not sick of it, really used to it now.

Is your MIL on the programme too?

I'm regularly loosing about 2.5kg per week, unless I don't sleep properly.

Must say, this week, I've been really noticing how much we eat totally by habit.

There's a huge bag of grapes in my fridge at the moment (my daughter LOVES grapes), and SEVERAL times, when I've opened the fridge to put something away, I've grabbed a couple of grapes automatically, once even pulled a few off the vine and got them half way to my mouth before I realised what I was doing!!! The silly thing is, I've REALLY not done it consciously.

Isn't that odd?

Hmmm...

Got busy, haven't posted here, sorry.

I'm currently renovating a house for a friend. I sometimes do renovations for people, and when I'm working on them it is a frantic time. I painted all day today, in between choosing lights for the sparky to install later this week.

It's fun, but tiring.

Took my daughter to the job after work today, and the silly kid did a good job cutting in, now she's got a job doing it, hehe...

I'll try to get to Sue on Friday and weigh in before she closes for the holidays!

OK...

If someone would have told me last new years eve that I would go into Big W and buy SIZE 16 CLOTHES off the shelf...

I would have directed them to the nearest psychiatrist.

No question.

Last NYE I was OVER a size 26. (They were really tight).

Yesterday I went to my auntie and Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary. I saw people I haven't seen for a year, and some for 10 and 15 years (some for about 30 years, but they don't count... I was smaller then )

Well, no-one could believe it was me!!! I wore a pair of *loose* size 18 jeans, and one of Brieziel's gorgeous white work shirts, nicely fitted, with 3/4 sleeves (THANKS AGAIN BRIE!!) and I looked goooooooooooood.

LAst night Mum and I went to Big W and I bought some size 16 T-shirts and shorts. I'm SICK of wearing size 26 and falling through the neck holes. THey'll be fine for working around the farm, or painting in, but hell, I want some girlie stuff!

OK, enough blabberring, I'm packing the house, we're in the middle of moving to the farm... Back in a few days.

57~58KG lost wow! you are almost 2/3 done!

Lugging about 58KG extra must have been hard work! During the trip it was my job to push, lift 2 suit cases; the big suitcase weight in at 28KG the small one was 22KG, with my shoulder bag I guess 5KG more, 55KG total for me to move about with! I can tell you each suitcase was heavy, combined when I had to carry both up some stairs or something took conserable effort and lots of puffing and panting!

Even for me when I was carrying the 28KG suitcase or lifting it into a taxi or something, I said to myself gosh I cannot believe I carried more than this around with me 24*7 for years!

Yeah, it's amazing.

My uncle last week didn't want me to lift a 12kg suitcase. He said it'd be too heavy for me. I said, um, I've just lost 5 times this much weight, I think I can lift it...

Must admit, what I'm finding annoying now is people coming up and telling me that "You don't need to lose any more, you look so good now"...

Friganoodle soup! GO AWAY And LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!

Have been away all week, down the farm, took scales and my food list. The only problem I had is that the water there was disgusting, because it's been stagnant for a while... So I drank all the water we brought with us, then started on the fanta and sprite Zero.

I guess I probably still had 2lt water a day, but nowhere near my usual 3lt...

Hope the move went well asy.

Don't you love all those 'well-meaning' comments. Why should you stop cos they're happy with how you look, what about when we stuffed ourselves silly, no help then were they?

Hmmm, Not fully moved yet, we have a rental house on the same road as our farm, but can't move until after the court date.

Can't remember whether I said, so here goes: My ex is suing and has asked the court for an injunction to stop my moving interstate with the kids. Even though it's only 2.5 hours drive away. It's very painful, but we're all positive that it'll come out in our favour. The kids can't wait to move. But we're stuck here till after the Judge says OK.

Had a good holiday nonetheless.

The plan didn't go so well on the holiday.

Whilst I didn't stray much foodwise (see below), I had a LOT of trouble drinking the tank water. The tanks at the new house desperately need cleaning out, and we had no filtration, it just tasted like, well, I dunno... but it was bloody awful. I ended up drinking a lot of Sprite Zero and bought water, but it just wasn't enough.

Times were good, didn't have much trouble eating on time every day.

My food trouble was pretty much my own fault, being too smart for my britches. I didn't have my plan with me, only the amounts in my little ready reckoner (That I made) and I couldn't remember whether we were allowed tomato paste. (it was a very tiring week), so for a couple of evenings, I had a tiny amount (about 5g) of tomato paste, but weighed it into my veg allowance. This coupled with the water-lack meant that I don't believe I lost ANY weight for at least one week.

I had no scales at the farm, so I had to sneak into K-Mart and weigh myself in the aisles (didn't want to buy any coz I have some at home, although they don't really work that well, but I'll go see Sue on Monday). I was 108kg at Xmas, I weighed 102kg a week ago in K-Mart, which is only 6kg in 3 weeks, a little lower than usual, and weighed again two days ago, still at 102kg... Hmmm...

Must admit, I was weighing myself on $15 scales as they were the only ones I could find, so can't wait to see what it is on the 'good' ones.

Also, tonight, I had to eat dinner on the run, as I had to eat while driving. So it was chicken and salad, but I'd run out of all salady stuff except tomatoes, so it was a whole tomato for me... Still, it's better than a bag of chips...

I really wanted to be finished the programme by my birthday, 23 March.

That gives me 8 weeks. Allowing 3 weeks for Refeed, seems that gives me 5 weeks.

I have 27kg to go. So, only 5kg per week... HAHAHAHAHA.

Seems I'll still be on the programme for my birthday. What a schiit.

Also, I know I've said this before, but I'm not sure where my end point will be. It's supposed to be 75kg, but I'm really worried that'll be too small. I'm going to get to 85kg then make a determination whether I want to end it there or take some more off.

The funny thing is, 85kg would 'almost' be do-able by my birthday, but I can't make a decision on my future size based on a birthday party...

So, there's my honest soul baring. And my first off-plan moments...

Not good, but yesterday.

Oh, and, I have no idea what I'm going to do for brekkie...

I have no eggs, no yoghurt and no idea what else is on my brekkie list coz I left my plan at the farm house...

Oh well, I'll work it out.

asy

Welcome back asy! :P

Sounds like an adventure and a half! But best of luck with the court - hope all swings in your favour.

Tomato paste is a no no by the way. I think you'll find once you settle down for a bit the scales will start moving again. 6kg in 3 weeks is fantastic!

You might find you have a cheese and veg option for your breakfast (well I do anyways). Perhaps you can do that if you have some cheese? Mine is 60g cheese, 65g veg (if that triggers your memory for your plan).

Oh yeah, there is a cheese and veg...

Pity there's no cheese, or veg... but THANKS anyway!!!

I took everything down to the farm, we were away for a month, so I didn't leave anything in the fridge

TOTALLY forgot to drop in to the store on the way home, as I was exhausted.

I'll go out first thing in the morning and get some eggs and veg or something. The other option is I'll have my salada first, then go hunt some yoghurt down. I have to go to the police station tomorrow to do a statement about being robbed before xmas, so I can get yogies on the way there... dunno.

Best go to bed now, in case Sue sees what time this was posted and rouses on me

Hi Asy

No, don't have carbohydrate first.

The crispbread will trigger an insulin response, ditto eating fruit before protein.

You are better off just drinking water and eating protein as soon as you can, even though it may mean a 'cheese and veg' supper rather than a dinner meal later in the day.

Don't forget that it is not Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

It is three meals chosen from three groups of meal choices. So if you have some steak in the freezer have a 'steak sandwich' for breakfast - after all, it is still holidays, even though you are calling by the court house it's not as if you have to be at work on time!

You may have to invest in a water filter to deal with that tank water - Sunbeam make a cheap filter which chills the water, too, or else invest in some camping containers and have at least 20 litres of drinking quality water on hand at all times.

Never mind about your Birthday - you are doing so well you may as well keep going to goal weight, rather than throwing the hawser rope before you are ready and perhaps not achieving a stable weight.

You will knock their socks off at your birthday, anyway, and no-one will know whether you have 'finished' or not unless you tell them.

Birthdays are like Christmas - a lot of angst about nothing much, it's only one meal so just deal with it (as you would, anyway) - aim for the end of the Financial Year instead! Not as glamorous but you can balance the books and balance the scales at the same time, and go into the new Financial Year in great physical shape and look forward to a great shape Financial Year as well!

Asy, how tall are you? An end weight of 75 kilos would indicate that you are certainly not going to look skinny, scrawny or gaunt. Lessfatty is taking himself down to nearly the bottom of the healthy weight range, something which I regret I didn't do, but the weight has been so stable that I am not prepared to fiddle about with it and perhaps upset the balance.

I'll tell you this, though - if my family never hear about Cohens again they'll die happy!

I hadn't started the program this time last year but had been to the information evening and had gone for the blood test - I had the induction interview on Friday 3rd February, 2006.

They think that all they have heard about for a year is Cohens - but at dinner today they were happy to have a bit of a chat that it is now seven months with stable weight, so we had quite a conversation about what kicks off weight gain to start with.

So my suggestion is, keep on until you do reach 75 kilos. Everybody (your family) is used to you being on the program now, it is a collective effort, but once you are 'finished' the mood changes and they have heard enough!

Don't finish too soon. Keep on keeping on.

There will always be another Birthday and by your Birthday, 2008 you will be able to say 'I've been this weight for a year now'

Regards

Kristine

Yeah, well, imagine when I started, looking 91kg down the barrell!!!

It was no less daunting when I had 72kg left, trust me...

Now I "only" have 25kg to go, it seems EASY!

Not long now. I can't wait.
