Question Day 3 down....

Hi.
I'm new, having started on Cohen's 3 days ago.

Still feeling headachy and lethargic, but managing.

Fingers crossed this works.

I have one question, though - the recommended weight for my height is 56 kg, which I feel might be a bit low for me. I think I would be happy at 60kg.

Does everyone go to refeed at their recommended weight only?

Justine

Hi Justine,

Many people seem to stop at a higher weight than what is set by Dr Cohen, but to my knowledge, the clinic will only give you a reefed when you are within 2kg of your goal weight range.

Hope you get over the headaches etc soon, it should pass within the next couple of days, and then your energy levels will zoom!!!!

Cheers

After 7 days, I have lost 3.3kg and 10 cm from my measurements!! Yay!!!

Felt a bit headachy and vague on day 6. I know that this is normal for days 2-4, but thought I was over it.

Is this normal?

You've paid a fair amount for the eating plan, I would imagine that if you ask for Refeed earlier they will encourage you not to, but they are really obliged to give you what you've paid for.

welcome....my advice is dont worry about it yet, i also thought mine was low at 57-60 - i hve 60kg to lose so i just cant see myself there..... but 3 months in i am learning to deal with each day as it happens and not stress about the end, will be there soon enough....
Im sure near the end if you are showing the hunger pains ive heard about and your only a couple kgs away you would be able to get it.
The side effects leave soon to and you will be int he zone and it feels great look forward to watching your journey.

I agree! People are already looking at me thinking I am 70kg which is amazing, so there is no way in hell I will want to be 59! But in saying that, I need the fat to dissolve from my butt, arms and legs, so who knows - at the end of the day it is just a number!
Believe me, when I am ready for refeed and I am hungry and not at this set weight business - and I don't get it - there will be trouble : )

Well said Nicole, exactly my point. The good dr Cohen makes these sort of decisions for ourselves based on sound scientific and medical knowledge. In saying that our goal weight ranges are only a guide though and some people find they need to stop at a higher weight and some go lower, depending on what their body is telling them.

You'd best put the question to your clinic about wanting to stop earlier than the one set by dr Cohen.

They make it pretty clear that if you want to stop earlier you are entitled to but you won't get a refeed but they'll give you the maintenance guidelines. Your clinic will let you know what their policy in that is. My take is that they'll all say the same things, as dr Cohen writes the refeed himself and says he will only do so when his criteria are met.

Maybe Koh has another perspective in that.......

At any cost, like Nicole said, don't worry about it now. You are on the ride of a lifetime and the most fantastic journey of self discovery and you don't yet know how you feel until you get there........

But good luck with this fantastic experience....

Cheers

Thanks for the points of view, everyone. Much appreciated.

Feeling a bit better today already, and looking forward to the increased energy levels you guys mention.

Congrats on your loss woo! There is no normal on cohens everyone is different and will go through a different journey!

I feel vague sometimes and I'm 4 months in. How much water are you drinking?

The headaches do pass but you can help it by drinking water to let the toxins flush

I too questioned the refeed time. I was told basically - what isn't broken, don't fix. Dr Cohen was right on the money with my weight loss so I know I have to follow what he says for the refeed....
